Best thing we did on our trip to New York
Sun, May 4, 08   11:00 AM lisamarie317 Female 30-39 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
This tour was really fun and also very informational. We tried a lot of great food and learned a lot about the history of the village and architecture of the buildings. Our tour guide was very knowledgable and friendly. If you decide to take one of the tours, do it at the beginning of your trip so you have time to go back and visit the places where you would like to spend more time. My husband and I made the mistake of doing the tour on our last day and didn't have time to go back and see anything on our own or eat at any of the great restaurants we learned about. Bummer! Will do it differently next time. Will definitely take another tour when we are back in NYC!

Wonderful Experience

I took my daughter (21) on this tour with me. Both of us really enjoyed it. The tour said you would be full at the end of the tour and that is not an overstatement! We ate a light breakfast, but both of us thought we should have skipped that. We were glad we didn't have early dinner plans! I was still full hours later. The tour was a good mix of food, history, local architecture and general information. The group size was wonderful as it gave you an opportunity to ask questions if you wanted. The food places were great and you definitely want to spend some time afterwards to shop in the various stores. We had a wonderful experience, Thank You!!

Susan, our guide, was excellent. Providing tidbits of history and offering her passion for the food, history and area. This was a great alternative to museums, theater and shopping. I will sign up to do the other tours when in NYC again.

Having been to the Village on my previous trips to New York I never really spent as much time as I did this time and we enjoyed it so much that we ended up staying there till 11pm. The tour was interesting, the guide was very pleasant, the food was great (although I think an extra stop or two would not have been bad)

Enjoyed it, not sure I would recommend it.

My husband and I really enjoyed the food portion of the tour, but felt that the tour tried a bit too hard to be all things to all people. Specifically, we didn't particularly feel the need to know about the different types of architecture or to walk around Washington Square Park- we were more interested in the next tasting. However, as we are frequent daytrippers to the Village, this complaint may not be a general one. The food portion of the tour was great- we loved learning about the restaurants, specifically the Indian Bread Co. & Montes. So, in short, we would have preferred a 2.5hr tour that didn't talk as much about general history as opposed to the 3.5hr tour that did.

We enjoyed learning about the culture of Greenwich Village. We have been visiting NYC for quite some time and never spent much time in this area of the city. After the tour, we returned to many of the shops on the tour and also returned later that evening for dinner as well as for dinner the next night. We are looking forward to our next visit and taking advantage of another of your food and culture tours.

Top experience of our trip to NYC

This tour is packed with great food and intimate information about Greenwich Village. It was the best part of our trip. We definitely did not need lunch after the tour...a sample of what the Village has to offer is well provided along with very interesting history throughout our walk. My friends and I thought it was great and Barri was very knowledgeable and a terrific guide. We would highly recommend to anyone!

when to take tour and food tastings

The Greenwich VIllage Food Tasting and Cultural tour was by and large well organized and interesting!! Our tour guide was able to move us through eating, walking and information at a great pace. I would also recommend this tour not just for tourists, but to people who have just moved to NYC and are looking to find out more about good quality restaurants. The least strong aspect of this tour I think is the food tasting selection. It was primarily Italian, all excellent on their own and worth trying, but as a set of 8 tastings, they were a bit heavy (too much bread, cheese and dessert!).

What a way to get to see Greenwich village than with food! Bobbi was an incredible guide. Her knowledge, organization, and personality was a great match for this tour. I loved learning about the food of the area, the history, and the architecture. I have already recommended to several friends. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! I can't wait to come back and dine all of the restaurants we visited.

The Chelsea MArket Tour is the second Zerve tour I've experienced. It was fabulous as was the first one. The guide was extremely knowlegable as he was entertaining. I would recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys learning about different parts of NYC and tasting some delicious food.

good time and extremely funny guide

We had a great time. The guide was excellent and funny. The food was good but that was secondary to the good time we had. We are all about the food, but was pleasantly surprised by the guide and his comedy. Well worth the price of the tour. Would consider another tour on our next visit. Kurt you rock.

The tour was more than I had expected. Our guide was a long time resident of the Village and shared with us his knowledge of the history of Greenwich Village . He spoke of the immigrant groups, the architecture, the culture, artists, bohemian life styles etc. All of the aforementioned and food! What more could you ask? He pointed out several restaurants that I will most defintely visit next year. I have already recommended this tour to three of my NYC friends .

We thoroughly enjoyed Susan and her tour of Greenwich and SoHo. Her information on the history and flavor of these neighborhoods was interesting and really captured the essence of these areas. We really enjoyed the food tastings and ended up going back to Monte's for dinner a few nights later for a fabulous meal. Our visit to Manhattan was really enhanced by adding this tour to our itinerary and getting away from the "usual" tourists places to see. When we return to NYC, we will definitely try another Food Tour!

Mothers/daughters/aunts/nieces met in NYC for a long weekend. We have talked about this for a long time and finally we were able to schedule this trip after the girls finished school, some married, etc. This was recommended late in our planning but an extra daughter (thank you Amy!) was able to be part of the tour. ALL enjoyed the food, history of Greenwich, and our tour guide, Mike. Mike gave us background of the area and introduced us to some residents. Many of us ordered some oils and vinegars from one of our stops. I have already mentioned our wonderful experience to all I have talked to, and you will be on their list of tours in the future. Thank you for being flexible and adding my daughter to make the experience perfect. Linda Becker

Every year a group of us go to NYC for our "girlfriends getaway". We usually do the same things every year...decided to try something new and saw an ad for this tour. It was a blast! Our guide was excellent, the history of the area was interesting and all the food was yummy! We plan to take the Soho/Greenwich tour next time.
