| did this on a recommendation of a friend who did the same Greenwich Village tour and she had 2 more food stops than I. Needed another food taste - of something other than pizza or desert. | ||||||

| Our guide (Barb from Brooklyn? Beatrice from Brooklyn - anyway she was from Brooklyn) did a number of things that we were impressed with: 1) she gave us some background on the various food shops, and also some history of the Village itself, which was nice and 2) she didn't B.S. her way through something. When she didn't know the answer to a question, she gave you her best guess and made it clear that she wasn't sure. So all in all it was time very well spent. We made a reservation at Palma's (?) for the following night and of course the food was excellent. thank you | ||||||

| I thoroughly enjoyed this tour - it was a stand out during my 10 days in NYC. Our guide (Cindy) was enthusiastic and knowledgeable of the local produce, vendors and the Greenwich Village area - everyone in the group related well to her. If you are looking to do something just a bit different and less touristy; this is the activity for you (and it was delicious!). Caroline (Australia) PS I took my husband back to Greenwich Village later that week and did my own gourmet tour with him which he loved - thanks for all the insider tips!! | ||||||

| We were a combo of locals and out of towners with a knowledge of the city, but we learnt things we definetly did not know beforehand. The guide had great anecdotes that totally added to the walk, the food was very good, well paced as was the walk and the variety of food was perfect. I would highly recommend the walk to New Yorkers as well as visitors. | ||||||

Too concentrated on the market and rushed eating

| I found it a bit boring that the whole tasting was limited to the Market because one gets the feeling that one could do the tour on his own. Also, I found it a bit stressful to eat most of the food while standing (e.g. the croissants and the soup). However, the guide was very nice and funny. Also the other participants were really nice and the guide managed to bring the group together. Thanks for three nice hours! | ||||||

| Excellent tour! Guide Barrie was knowledgable about all the food, the neighborhod and the architecture. All the restaurants are excellent, we would not have found them if we didn't join the tour. | ||||||

| THE ENTIRE FAMILY ENJOYED LEARNING ABOUT THE HISTORY OF THE VILLAGE. IT WAS NOT BORING...IT WAS FUN. WE SAW PLACES THAT WE WOULD NOT HAVE SEEN ON OUR OWN AND TASTED THE BEST FOOD IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD.. ONLY CHANGE WE WOULD RECOMMEND IS TO MAKE IT MORE SR. FRIENDLY BY BEING ABLE TO STOP AND SIT SOMEWHERE MID WAY. ALSO DECREASE FEE FOR CHILDREN. OUR 4 YEAR OLD REALLY WAS NOT ABLE TO EAT ALL SAMPLES AND WE PAID FULL PRICE. WOULD LIKE TO SEE THIS TYPE OF TASTING AND HISTORY TOUR DONE IN MORE NEW YORK NEIGHBORHOODS. WE PLAN ON TAKING THE CHELSE MARKET TOUR NEXT. | ||||||

Entertaining and Laid-Back Tour

| My husband and I toured Chelsea Market last Saturday and had a great experience. The tour took place primarily on the first floor of Chelsea Market, and then we walked around a bit in the neighborhood (but all the tastings were in CM). Our guide Darryl shared fun and interesting facts, just the right amount to keep us entertained. We never felt rushed and truly got to enjoy this culinary experience. The tastings included: chocolate croissants, spreadable fruit on biscuits, various sea salts, chocolates, seafood bisques, whole grain bread, deli meat, olives, pepperoni, blueberry lemonade, cheese, chocolate milk and coffee flavored milk. I might be leaving something out. If you are a picky eater, this tour is not for you. Though the advertisement said most people don't need to eat after the tour, we were still hungry and grabbed a slice of pizza afterward. All in all, a great way to spend a half day in NYC. | ||||||

| The tour guide was excellent--engaging, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic. I took two of my out-of-town family members and we all loved it. I have lived in New York for 2 years and am a certifiable foodie and I still learned a ton and discovered some great places to eat! Highly recommended. | ||||||
