My teenagers enjoyed eating their way through
Tue, Jul 5, 11   12:00 PM ktshafer Female 50-59 Local Family With Children
Our family, two adults and two teens, enjoyed the tour of Greenwich Village. The food shops we visited served outstanding quality items. The distance we traveled was only a few blocks, but we saw and tasted many items. It gave us a good overall feel for Greenwich Village.

Got my ticket to the West Village Food walking tour last week and was really looking forward to it. Woke up to a rainy, ugly day and figured, eh, I'll just skip it. Then, I changed my mind and am I ever glad i did. I soooo recommend this tour...it was worth the damp, soggy feeling from the weather. The quantity and quality of the food far beat my expectations. I was stuffed and and the diversity and selection of food was excellent. From the pizza, to the chocolate chip cookie, to the cheese, to the rice ball, to even the cauliflower, I loved this tour and heartily recommend it to anyone who's into food, history, the Village or just have some time to kill. The guide was entertaining and informational, sharing historical references and interesting trivia. I spend a lot of time in the Village and this will help me enjoy the area even more in the future.

Great experience !

I'm from NJ and go to NYC frequently, always to experience new things and places. Chelsea Market/Meatpacking Dist Food Tasting Tour was just another activity I found for fun for my boyfriend and myself and I have to write that this was one of the best choices I've made for this weekend. The guide, Diana, is simply wonderful. Her enthusiasm lightened the day (which was, on that particular day, a little gloomy with the rain drizzling). She is one hell of an expert who knows how to make everyone, and I mean EVERYONE comfortable and enjoy the tour. We arrived a little late to the tour, and I was worried we might hav missed the first tasting, but nope, Diana was holding on to our first tasting for us..! We sincerely appreciated not only the delishness of the food, but her kindness. She is so knowledgeable about the area, in the minutest details, I have learned so much about the Chelsea Market/Meatpacking District - not to mention the good laugh we had and the wonderful food we tasted along the way. Three hours passed by so quickly :)

Great introduction to new neighborhoods

As a newcomer to the city, it can be overwhelming to explore all the various areas of the city. This is why I so enjoyed the Greenwich tour because it carved out a small section of town to get to know. I will definetly return to visit this area again. Found some great restaurants and speciality food stores I will visit in the near future. The architectural tour was very intersting and added a nice balance to the tour.

Bert made it worth it!

This is actually my second time on the tour; this time I brought my boyfriend and once again the tour was totally worth it. We were both stuffed at the end, and the tour was even a little different; I got some new information and quite a few different tastings. Our tour guide, Bert (as in Bert & Ernie), was enthusiastic about the village and food and NY in general. He made the 3 hours fly by. Also it was a hot and sunny day and though I was prepared to get sun-burned, he kept us cool in the shade most of the time. A great way to spend the afternoon!

I have been on all of your other tours; but this was the first time for the friend I brought with me. I enjoyed it just as much as all of the others; and my friend can't wait to come back for another! Thanks for continuing to expand your repertoire so that I can keep coming back to explore new places.

The walk was easily paced for people of all ages. My Mom, a 74 yrs old grandmother was able to join her 2 daughters and 2 grandaughters, the youngest one being 20, for a wonderful day. The food was superb too. We cannnot wait to go back to the Village just the continue the experience.

Outstanding activity! Engaging well informed guides. Delicious food! Gave us a great overview of an area of the City I knew nothing about. Have already been back to several of the venues we visited. Fun and informative for locals and tourists alike. A must for recent transplants.

Ladies Birthday Outing
Thu, Jun 30, 11   11:00 AM lindacasey Female 50-59 Local Group of Friends
We were a group of 6 ladies from NJ celebrating a birthday! We had so much fun! The guide, Bert, was the best! He knows his stuff...about the food and preparation and about the history of NYC! So we now feel comfortable returning to Greenwich Village for all the yummy stuff there, whether to dine in or just bring some cheese, bread, pastries, etc home to share with the rest of the family! The food was delicious, more than enough for lunch. We decided that we are going to have to go back and try all the other tours!

This was my third food tour with FoodsOfNY purchased through ZERVE. It was easy to setup the tour but not as easy to find the group meetup in New York City, since it actually was inside the restaurant instead of outside on the street - outside is better in my opinion. Everyone can see the group from a distance, for one thing. Secondly, we were dodging the wait staff inside. And finally, that restaurant was NOT on our tour, which I found pointless and distracting. The tour however was very good and everyone in our extended family enjoyed it. We ate significantly more food on this tour than the previous two, which was very nice, considering it is billed as a food tour. I will likely take future tours with FoodsOfNY. This remains an excellent way to spend 3+ hours walking around New York City, and everyone else in the group seems to have felt the same way, judging by the number of tips we gave our tour guide at the end.
