We took this tour on the recommendation of a friend and are very pleased that we did! The guide was interesting and informative with an obvious love and knowledge of the area we were exploring. The eateries visited were nicely varied and the samples provided were very tasty indeed. One of the places, Home Restaurant, was so tempting that we returned under our own steam a few days later for lunch which certainly lived up to our expectations.
The tour was so interesting that we hardly noticed the rain! |

I went in with low expectations. However, I'd definitely recommend the tour. Not only did we sample many of the local foods, but there was a nice amount of historical commentary by our guide as we traversed the villiage. I would definitely recommend it. |

I have been traveling often to New York over the past 30 years. OK you started these tours in 1999... I missed this for 11 years! Duh me!
Our guide (Diana?) was amazing, she answered all the questions, she is funny and like us... she likes food!
One of the best ways to know more about New York City and I am not only talking about the food!
And talking about the food, that was a yummy tour!
Two thumbs up and merci beaucoup!

The food is varied and amazing. The walking is not strenuous at all but a nice stroll around the neighborhood. There are some interesting tidbits of history during the tour but definitely NOT a historical tour of the area. Our guide, Sephrah, was a blast and kept it fun and had a wealth of knowledge about foods in general. |

Our food tour of Greenwich Village could not have been better. Ours was a corporate team building outing, and while some team members had been through the tour once before (a few years back), they said it was just as good the second time around.
Our guide, Heather, was charming, knowledgeable and very focused on ensuring that everyone shared a memorable experience. I got several emails, once we returned to the office, raving about the food, what a great time they had and the wonderful job she did.
More than one person was looking forward to another tour next year. There's no question that we'll be back to Foods of New York Tours, to arrange for another event next summer. They make it easy for the event coordinator to look like a hero. |

My wife and I had a great time on the tour. However we were disapointed with the lunch. Wasn't crazy about the vegertarian lunch and the fake pork made out of soybean "whatever".
Being a tour of mostly Italian places, We were hoping for an Italian lunch of some kind....
Guide was good and knew her stuff. The sample food was also good. The lunch however was a disapontment....

We throughly enjoyed our tour of Greenwich Willage. Not only was the tasting good, but the history we learned from our guide, Curt, was very interesting. Curt was enthusiastic, funny and remembered all of our names upon meeting us and also where we were from. We found that amazing! We would certainly recommend this tour and Curt to anyone who plans to be in the New York City area. Will and Marlene' Dudley |

This was a perfect addition to our trip to NYC. Our tour guide explained a lot about Greenwich Village that we would have never learned. We had two kids (17 and 11) and they also enjoyed it. Will take another when we go back. |

The title was going to say, " The Last One." but I did not want it misunderstood. This was the last of our FONY tours. We have taken them all. They are informative as well as fun. Over the years I have spent time in the places on the tour...Soho, The Village, Chinatown, etc., there is always something new (or old) to see. As for the food on the walking tours, wonderful.
The Japanese tour was unique. Food and cultural history. We are not strangers to the food and know something of the culture. We learned alot, without it being a lecture. As for the food, Incredible. I might be partial, but I rate the Japanese Tapas tour as the best.
I would be remiss if I didn't mention our guides. They have a passion for their job. To call it a job almost demeans what they do. Not to play favorites, but we had the privilege of having Raheem as our guide three times. Most notably at the Japanese Tapas event.
And what are we waiting for? I heard they will be offering a new tour, perhaps in the fall. |
