Foods of New York Tours

My husband and I went on the Original Greenwich Village Food & Culture tour. Our guide Cindy was fabulous. She had a great bubbly personality and went out of her way to make sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying themselves. You could tell that the restaurant owners and their staff enjoyed cooking and being part of this tour. Not only were the restaurants we sampled tasty, we were given a booklet that told about other restaurants in the area and listed their speciatly dishes. No longer will we be overwhelmed and intimidated by the amount of options available in Greenwich Village; we'll know just where to go and what to order. I would definitely recommend this tour to others.

My husband and I really enjoyed the Greenwich Village food tour. We sampled foods at a number of different shops/restaurants and had fun listening to our tour guide tell stories and fun facts about the area. I live locally, so this tour definitely helped me feel more comfortable with the neighborhood and I found some "gems" that I want to go back to. Only thing I would change is the length. The tour ran a little over 3 hours. 2 1/2 would have been perfect. Overall I would recommend to anyone who is looking to explore this area of Manhattan and sample the local cuisine!

If you live in NY, this tour was a great way to show family the city without having to act like a tourist yourself.

WOW! The tour was fantastic! We had a warm , sunny day for Rahim to introduce us to the foods , sights and secrets of the Central Village and SoHo. The food was delicious and the history behind each place we passed or stopped at made the tour the special experience that it was. We met people from all parts of the country and Europe. We are already planning an early summer visit to SoHo, so we can return to the restaurants and night spots. Another FoodTour will also be on our list of THINGS WE MOST DO in NYC. We ENTHUSIASTICALLY RECOMMEND this tour!!

The Chelsea part of NYC was new to us and your tour was the perfect introduction to this area. Darryl our tour guide provided historical facts and funnies about the Chelsea Market and surrounding area, plus kept us well fed with the many tasting on this tour. It was especially nice on this tour to speak some of the purveyors themselves. For the price, this tour exceeded our expectations with tastings, interesting NYC facts, information and entertainment.

As a family (including our 15 and 11 year old kids) that likes to try new resteraunts as often as we can, we thought this tour would be a great way of samplilng a variety of places while getting some background info on the neighborhood. We received both to our satisfaction. Our guide was energetic and full of info and did a good job of getting to know those of us in the group. Besides being satisfied with all of the food we tasted, the bonus is the insight you get about several other resteraunts in the neighborhood that may go unnoticed . Also, at one point the info we were getting about the neighborhood was so interesting that several of us forgot we were on a "tasting" tour. Definitely worth the price. And, definitely an excellent substitute for lunch that day.

Despite a steady rain, our guide made the tour fun and interesting. My 9 year old grandson enjoyed the tastings and tolerated the history lesson without complaining.

This tour was great, I have lived in NY (on Long Island) my entire life, I work in NYC, but I never really ventured around in Greenwich Village. Going on this tour made me realize that there are places that are not what you typically picture as NYC. This area reminds me a lot of Europe, still has some great family owned bakeries, meat and cheese shops and delicious "homey" restaurants. The food we had was so unbelievable, you are actually taken to the best of the best and not the typical tourist places. As well as tasting great food, this tour teaches you a lot about this neighborhood and great facts about the area. The instructor was extremely informed and was able to answer many questions. Be careful when booking the tour, hope for good weather...it started raining on ours, luckily not to heavy because the tour we were on was primarily outdoors. I definitely recommend this tour not just for tourists but for locals who don't know much about the village.

I am a New Yorker who thoroughly enjoyed exploring nooks and crannies of the West Village which I never knew existed! Plus, I sincerely appreciate the food accommodations made for me so that my dietary restrictions in no way interfered with my friend's birthday plans! Our tour guide was fantastic.

Lots of fun for the whole family. Delicious food, entertaining tour guide, hidden treasures. A great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. I'll definitely take another one of their tours. Highly recommended.

This was a great tour that was very informational. Whenever we come to the city we never know where to go, but after this we know a bunch of places we want to try! It was also very interesting hearing the history of the area. I just wish that we could have sat down at more places rather than standing on the street eating. The tour company should offer a tasting that is not as many places, but more time in each one.

There a culinary samplings were diverse and delicious. The history of the area that was shared was greatly appreciated. I went back the next day before our departure from NYC and bought a few of the items sampled during the tour!

My brother gave me a gift certificate for the Chelsea Market tour for Christmas. We waited for the weather to get nice and went on the tour this past weekend. We loved it! Darryl was our guide and he was well informed, witty and entertaining. All the food tastings were wonderful and generous. I live in New York so I never would have taken this tour on my own. Now I hope to be able to take the rest of the food tours in the future.
