Foods of New York Tours

My wife and I and our ten year old granddaughter took the Greenich Village tour, and had a terrific experience. The time and effort taken in selecting the neighbohoods, restaruants and shops really shows. Every choice is high quality, unique and handled very professionally. Our guide , Marie, was knoweldgable, personable, and enthusiastic- she went out of her way to make the tour enjoyable and educational for everyone. One of the best things about the tours is the size; no more than 16 people; so they are very personalized and comfortable. This was my second tour( did the Meat Packing district in 2010), and I have recommended the tours to lots of friends. A great way to enjoy and learn about unique food options, and to really see and experience an NYC neighborhood. HIGHLY recommend these tours for just about anyone visiting the city. Our granddaughter LOVED it!

Points of inerest were not as" interesting "as chelsea mkt. and grenwhich village tour. looking forward to booking the lolita tour next year

A great way to experience the neighborhood - through food! The nice mix of cultural and historical information gives you a real 'flavor' of Greenwich Village. You can tell that these guys have done their homework. They really know the area and the businesses we visited well. One tiny downside - I felt like we stalled a few times on the tour waiting for the tour ahead of us to leave a location - the flow could have been a little better - but the guide did a fairly good job filling the time with interesting facts.

The food tour was one of the highlights of our recent trip to NYC. Not only did we eat amazing food but learned so much history of the area and culture behind the food. Kurt was a perfect tour guide - funny, knowledgeable and personable. I can't wait to take another tour next time we are in town.

We came to New York from Scotland and being my boyfriend's first time in New York and not mine, we wanted to do something I'd never done. This tour came highly recommended by friends and I would definitely recommnend to others. Kurt's knowledge of New York and it's history, culture and people was amazing and his enthusiasm was contagious. The food was great and no need to eat for a while afterwards!

This was the second time for two of us. It was as enjoyable this time as the first. The guides were both exceptional in their knowledge and presentation, however, the guide on this tour (Curt or Kurt) went beyond exceptional and really made it special. He had a gift of remembering everyone's name and would address you several times during the tour. All the food was good too!!!!! I would consider doing it again when next I visit New York.

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our Food and Cultural Tour of Greenwich Village. The tour guide, Sephrah, was amazing!!! Funny and knowledgable. The food was devine and the history of the Village was very interesting. We ended up hanging out in the Village after the tour to spend more time at the shops we visited on the tour. It's a great way to see the Village and experience all the wonderful food. I highly recommend this tour.

We met our guide, Bob, inside the Chelsea Market & took us past/into a variety of businesses. We had a little sample at each one on his list & I wondered if this would really fill us. However, by the end, I felt like I had enough to consider it a lunch plus more. Bob was very entertaining telling us about each business & the history of the Chelsea Market & the meatpacking district. His personality was what really made the tour. I expected a lot more walking & for me that was a little disappointing since I love to walk. I thought we'd cover much more of the neighborhood. My mistake on that assumption since I wasn't aware the Chelsea Market is not an area but a building. That factor would be a plus if you are going in the cold weather or if it is not a nice day. The second part of the tour did involve more walking out on the street, with Bob giving information about various buildings, tenants, and history. He was a wealth of information, interesting, and witty. At our last stop we visited a restaurant that had a table set for us in the back. We each had a small plate of very good pasta with meat sauce. It also provided us with a little time to talk to others on the tour in a relaxed atmosphere. All in all it was an enjoyable day out. Our tour started at 10:00 a.m., which is early for a food tour. Later times were not available. I was concerned I would not feel like sampling foods at such an early hour but we started with a mini cupcake, then a little milk, and from there it appeared no one, including me, had trouble sampling anything else. I certainly would consider trying another one of this company's tours.

Had a great time, food was wonderful. Bob was our guide and he was the best !!!! I would reccomend this tour if you want a great time and some history on NY.

Susan is outstanding. She was accommodating, fruitful, vibrant and very informative. A wonderful experience for anyone! I would recommend this tour to any food enthusiastic.

This was our second tour. It was every bit as good as the first tour in terms of quality and enjoyment. Susan, our guide, was knowledgable, prepared and an all around joy. We were surprised at how quiet the neighborhood streets are during the weekday. If you get the chance definitely go. If your trying to decide which area of NY to move to this would be a great way to evaluate it.

Our guide Rahim is a complete New Yorker who knows and loves the history of Greenwich Village and its characters and brings them all vividly to life with hilarious anecdotes. We were going to be in the Village for 10 days and by the end of the tour we knew our way around, knew many good places to eat (had sampled the delicious food at several places), and got to know the owners and workers of local family businesses (cheese-makers, coffee specialists etc). We were no longer tourists but honorary Villagers having a lot of fun. We loved every fascinating minute! Love and thanks to Rahim!

Our guide was the best. It is a great opportunity to learn about the history of the area in a fun environment. I feel you try some foods that you wouldn't normally try. I would like to try all the other tours. This was my second one and I enjoyed them both.

Our guide (R__) was very knowledgeable and entertaining as well as a NY native who shared boyhood stories and family traditions. Tastings were so abundant that even dinner could be skipped. We learned about not only food preparation and ingredients, but also history of the neighborhoods and family establishments that have been in existence for decades. This is truly a good way to experience neighborhood living (away from the normal touristy celebrity chef promos). This is our second NYC food tour with this company and we recommend them highly.
