We were visiting NY for a Wedding and had time for daytime activities. This tour was delightful. Such a good blend of the history of this area, and a diverse tasting of what Greenwich Village has to offer. We returned that evening to dine at one of the restaurants that was highlighted on the tour. All in all a great way to spend the day, and at a bargain price too!

Fascinating visit to Greenwich Village

This tour allowed us (two couples) to glimpse life in Greenwich Village in the present and in the past. The shops were fascinating; the foods were delicious; the narrative very interesting; and all within easy walking distance of one another. Our guide knew the history, knew the recipes, introduced us to the shops and foods, and kept us moving at an enjoyable pace. The small size of the tour group was helpful in hearing the guide, and squeezing into small shops and restaurants.

We've visited NYC many times, but this was our first walking food tour. Marie, our guide was prompt, efficient, friendly, and so informative. She seemed to enjoy her work and had many interesting tips to offer about the area. It was definitely both a food and cultural tour!! Although it was a rainy day, she managed to find intriguing places for us to duck into on occasions. Having the option of returning to some of the food sites and buying products at a discount was a nice bonus! We especially loved the olive oil company and the cheese shop. All the tastings were good, and we did not leave the tour hungry. Think we'd love to go back to the area for a longer stay....all because of this tour.

Our tour guide Cindy was super. She made the whole group feel welcome and acted as if we all had known her for years. The vast amount of information she provided on Greenwich Village was enlightening. We certainly had a nice variety of food during our 3 hours. You wont go away hungry.Would recommend this as a must do in NYC visit. Cant wait do another.

Great tour! We had Bob as our tour guide and he was very knowledgeable about the history of Chelsea Market, the current owner and stores and the entire harbor area. Would definetly take other tours in this area.

Being in our sixties, we viewed this walking tour with a certain amount of trepidation, but we were very pleasantly surprised. Although we covered a fair amount of ground, the pace was comfortable, and the stories, anecdotes and personal experiences of our guide made it a truly light hearted and memorable day. There were more than ample tastings, plenty of background about the varied samples, but no pressure to buy. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the morning, the samples, the company of the rest of the group, but the services of our very knowledgeable and personable guide was in fact, "the icing on the cake" A big thankyou to you all !!

Our tour guide was Barri. She was great! She knew her tour--Greenwich Village Food Tour. We learned so much from this tour about Greenwich Village. There were two of us doing this tour together and it was the first time to Greenwich Village for both of us. The eateries we ate at were great.; the Historial area part of the tour was so informative along with the Italian Area of Greenwich Village. We cannot say enough good things about the tour! We are looking forward to doing the Chelsa Market/Meatpacking District Tour the next time we are in New York City.

GOOD FUN, GOOD FOOD & NEW INSIGHTS

We were greeted, on time, by our guide Michael. He was both entertaining and knowledgeable. Our tour was interesting and enlightening. As a lifetime NJ resident and Village Visitor in my youth, there was much I learned from Michael. He gave us more information and pointed out more points of interest than we thought possible in the 3 hour tour. Did I mention that the tastings were good, too? The pizza wasn't the best I have ever had, but everything else was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour, hope to do another in the Spring. Sorry this took so long to complete; we are experiencing the joys of our 9th grandchild, born on the 11th. We had a great time, it definitely is not to strenuous a tour for seniors, the pace was good. In the words of Bob Hope, Thanks for the memories. Barbara Kulish & Ed Gocek

I received this gift certificate from my daughter and son in law as an anniversary gift. My husband and I had a wonderful time. We enjoyed the different food tastings, and visiting the many different stores in the Chelsea Market. We also had a great time visiting the Meat Packing District as well as the boutique hotel and the two restaurants. Our guide was terrifc and very knowledgeable, and made it a very enjoyable day. We did some shopping after the tour was over and enjoyed coffee and dessert in Amy's Bakery.| I would definately recommend this tour to my friends.

Curt from Canada was our guide and within minutes had remembered everyone's name - there were about 15 of us on the tour. We visited various and delicious eateries in the Chelsea Market sampling a few things here and there. It was all very interesting and great fun and then he showed us a couple of restaurants in the district and even a bed and breakfast place. I did the Village tour last year and thought I wouldnt find this as much fun, but I was wrong. I can very much recommend this as a fun and different thing to do in New York.

That was a very well run trip with lots of information from a very knowledgeable guide. (Michael??)The food stops and samplings were more than enough to be considered a substantial lunch. I would highly recommend this trip to family and friends who are in the area. Thanks. Carole Klein

One of the highlights of our trip to NY

Father and mother 60yrs, son, daughter and daughter in law aged in their 30s. From England. We were met enthusiastically by our guide Kurt. He remembered the names of all the group and acknowledged them regularly by keeping us all involved. He had great knowlege of the food and the Greenwich area and was able to answer all questions in addition to the delivery of a most interesting, not tiresome, 3hrs presentation. The food was superb and the people at the places were very helpful. It was great to hear the ingredients and methods of preparation. Walking was not a problem as the route was confined to two or three blocks in a part of Bleecker St. He also knew local people who were walking past A must is to arrange the tour early on in your trip as you need time to try the other places in the area described by Kurt. I'm not sure children would be as captivated by the tour as we were though. The answer is to bring them hungry. I won't spoil it by giving examples but Kurt's use of metaphors is thrilling. We are using them in our best NY accent now!!

A unique way to see a neighborhood in NYC which we normally don't visit. Delicious food and plenty of it! We had a great tour guide who provided us with tons of interesting facts about the area. We're already looking forward to taking another food tour in a different NYC village! Highly recommend!
