Foods of New York Tours

Marie was our guide - NYC was stop number 2 on our 22 day US honeymoon. The food tour ended up being one of our favourite things on the entire honeymoon. All the places we were taken to were polite, friendly & had yummy goodies for us to sample. Some of the shops we went back to after the tour to buy merchandise from - the Milk & Cookies Bakery was a real favourite. We would love to take other tours of yours on subsequent visits to the area, & would highly recommend your tours to anyone who enjoys food & history. Thankyou, Foods of New York. This tour gave us a great introduction to the West and East Village - the history, its inhabitants, and its diversity of culinary delights. Our tour guide worked hard for his money - energetically and enthusiastically taking us through what the area has to offer. I would thoroughly recommend this tour to those seeking to learn about the area and taste their way through it! Good fun and informative.

The Original Greenwich Village tour was recommended to us by friends and since this was our first visit to NYC we decided to give it a try... and we are so glad that we did. Our wee little group consisting of us (two Canadians) and another couple (two newlywed Aussies) were greeted by the amazingly fantastic, super entertaining Sephrah for a fabulous afternoon of touring, tasting and all-round fun. From the traditional pizza pies, wonderful bites (and mid-day wine) at Canto, incredible sweets at Milk & Cookies and Scali Caffe, and of course the oil and vinegars from O&Co - we had a great afternoon of tastings combined with an informative, entertaining cultural tour of Greenwich Village. Sephrah was an absolute treat and a wealth of knowledge (mixed with just enough craziness to fit in perfectly with our group ;)) and we would not hesitate to recommend this tour to anyone going to NYC. Thank you.

I gave this tour to my husband as a birthday present based on a recommendation from a friend. My husband's father was a butcher who had his own business in Queens more than a half century ago and he would accompany his father to the Meat Market as a youngster when his father would go to pick up meats. While we have visited Chelsea Market over the past several years, we never had the opportunity to learn the history of the building and he had not been back to the Meat Packing District in many years. It brought back many fond, nostalgic memories for my husband. Our tour guide, Diana was very enthusiastic and interesting as she provided many bits of trivia about the area. The food tastings were yummy, culinary treats and certainly offered more than enough food for a lunch. The building has been renovated and used in such an interesting, artistic and unique manner. We appreciated the opportunity to visit and tour the Morimoto and Del Poso Restaurants up close and personal. And then, walking on the highline in NYC, going to the Meat Market area and learning about how the Chelsea Market has been responsible for so many positive changes in the community over the years, was so informative. Thank you for such a wonderful experience and we will be back with family and friends to do this tour again and try some of the other tours you provide.

the tour was really enjoyable - i would recommend it to anyone visiting NYC. Our tour guide, Curt was very informative and had such a great sense of humour and you just knew he was so well connected to the group and wanted to make sure you had a really fun time!

My husband and I have a fabulous time on the tour! We were able to taste the best of the best with Marie giving us highlights of the neighborhood as we strolled. We will definitely do another tour the next time we are back in town!!!

Fun tour that showed some of the hidden treasures of one of New York's most interesting neighborhoods.

Our food tasting tour of Chelsea Market (and the surrounding area) was fantastic. Our tour group was 15 people, and our guide, Curt, remembered everyone's name after a quick introduction. We spent a few minutes at a dozen locally owned restaurants and shops, and tasted some really delicious food. But it was really Curt, our guide, who made the tour fantastic. He was informative, funny, and had an amazing talent for keeping his audience engaged and entertained. The amount of food in the tour is enough for lunch: a red velvet cupcake, a full cup of lobster bisque, a bread/meat/cheese platter, and a lunch serving of pasta were among the excellent cuisines we sampled. I live in NYC, and have been to Chelsea Market many times, but I would highly recommend this tour for locals or tourists. I learned more about the area than I thought possible. And now I know a lot more great restaurants to recommend when friends come to town.

Our guide, Heather, was very nice and very informative on the history and culture of Greenwich Village. I was very skeptical of the tour since my Wife talked me into it, but I learned a lot and had a really good time thanks to Heather. The food was absolutely wonderful and delicious as well.

My tour guide was Bert, who was by far the best tour guide I have ever had. Leading a group of about 12-14 people, he always addressed EVERYONE's questions. I liked the fact that in addition to the restaurants we sampled, Bert provided feedback on other restaurants we passed by. The historical background on architecture and celebrities was also excellent and was provided with a humorous touch. I didn't expect this to be such an exciting learning activity. Thank you Bert for the very pleasant experience : )
