Disappointed in Tour

I think this tour can be vastly improved from the one we took. Our guide was excellent, but the tour was poorly arranged. As we seemed to cover only a few block area, I think the tastings could have been arranged better. To have a sweet cookie and then go to a cheese/olive tasting was in the wrong order. You should try to arrange the tastings in better order.
I thought the tour would encompass various ethnic groups in the tastings, and not just Italian. If we could have gone to Chinatown and Little Italy, it would have been more meaningful. Maybe this is a suggestion to Zerve to organize a tour of that type, perhaps adding a Jewish deli. Eating on the run on the busy streets (although explained in the tour brochure) was not appealing to me. I did enjoy sitting down upstairs for the cheese/olive/crackers part.
Most visitors to New York City are only there for a short time, as I was. Knowing about all the different restaurants there was not very helpful to me, as I wasn't coming back to Greenwich Village just to eat. I wanted to see another part of New York and eat at a restaurant there (for example, going to Central Park to the Tavern on the Green).
I also took the Brooklyn Pizza Tour and thought it was excellent. This tour could be much better organized and I would be willing to try it again on future trips to New York City.

We really enjoyed our tour. We have been wanting to do this for the past few years & were not disappointed! The tasting was great but the weather was hot! There is something for everyone, although everyone will not enjoy everything. I personally love that area of New York best & wanted to show my friend so it was a good way to find out more information & history of Soho & Greenwich, as well as experience some very different food. I told a travel agent friend of mine to suggest it to her customers who intend to visit New York. It would have been nice to have time to stop for a drink along the way (at our cost), especially in the summer. Our guide was great! Thanks for a great time. |

I HAVE DONE THE CHELSA MARKET TOUR WITH CINDY. LOVED IT!! THIS ONE DOES NOT COMPARE..
WE HAD TO WAIT OUTSIDE AT MOST OF THE TASTINGS,THE FOOD WAS JUST O.K.. NO ONE WAS HAPPY WITH IT. THE FOOD IN THE MARKET WAS GREAT.
THE DAY WAS THE HOTEST OF THE YEAR. . NOT GOOD FOR OUTSIDE TASTINGS. WE FELT RUSHED. MAYBE THE GUIDE HAD TO MUCH AREA TO COVER. SHE WAS NOT HAPPY WHEN PEOPLE LAGGED BEHIND..
I AM BRINGING A GROUP IN TO DO THE GREENWICH VILLAGE TOUR, I HOPE IT MEASURES UP TO THE CHELSA MARKET TOUR!! |

Ny Food Tour Greenwich with Michael as guide

We toured the Greenwich Village area with Michael as our guide. Our group of about twenty people were given a fascinating tour of the area complete with Village history, pointers on the local architecture and of course tastings from some of the area businesses. It was a steamy hot and humid Friday, but in spite of the weather we toured for just over three hours. I would highly recommend this tour. |

I enjoyed this tour and found it to be extremely informative, both with regard to the foods of the Village and the history and culture of the area. Our guide (Michael) was quite knowledgable in all aspects of the Village, and transmitted that knowledge in a very articulate and sometimes humorous way. There was plenty of food to satisfy my mid-day needs, though at times I wish it had been sequenced in a more logical order.
My only other suggested improvement would be to have the guide invite questions at opportune times. While Michael was certainly willing and able to answer questions, he didn't seem interested in encouraging them. |

While born and raised in New York, although I don't live there any longer, I had never visited this area before or really knew about it, other than that it existed. It was a really worthwhile tour with excellant food, a fantastic, very knowledgable tour guide, nice people from New Orleans, Europe and Australia, and educational. I went because of a recommendation from a friend, and will definitely recommend this to others. |

I thought we spent too much time at Chelsea Market, but that may be because there are not a lot of restaurants in the area. Curt was wonderful. He's entertaining, friendly, funny and knowledgeable. |

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour led by Cindi. The group size was just right, and the tastings were quite extensive and varied. We were surprised to have so many "locals" in the group, as well as tourists. We are looking forward to taking other offered tours in the future. Thanks for the memories! |

I thought the guide was very knowledgeable and the food choices were very good. This is my second tour and I like that it is small groups. This guide was courteous and certainly good, but not "warm and fuzzy". A little stand-offish. And perhaps that is intended. |

Great tour, great value. Chris communicated his enthusiam of the area to the participants as we learned the area history. The food stops were top notch! We were surprised at the amount of food we sampled at each stop. A fun, informative tour and would most definetely recommend this tour. We will certainly be back. Thanks for a terrific afternoon! |

Our tour guide, Michael, was superb! He has a great sense of humor, a phenomenal knowledge of the neighborhood, a great taste for good food, and a wonderful way about him that makes the 3-plus hours move smoothly.
The choices of restaurants and their delights was perfect for the noon time tour, but most important was learning so much about the history and architecture of Greenwich Village.
It was simply a delight for my wife and me....and if you're in Weight Watchers, throw caution to the wind and enjoy life! |

Guide was very knowledgeable, approachable and articulate in speech....easily understood. I enjoyed the tour in all aspects and would do another tour but my 13yr old grand daughter who is not interested in history tolerated the historical part but she did enjoy the food. |
