Foods of New York Tours

We went with a group of eight with a plan to try something different. We had so much fun. Bert, our tour guide, was pleasant, funny and extremely knowledgable about all aspects of Chinese food and Chinatown. He could even provide recipes. The food was very good and we had more than enough to eat. Our entire group felt that this was well worth it. We are planning our next tour as I write this.

The food and cultural tour was the highlight of the NY City visit. Barri (the tour guide) did an excellent job mixing descriptions of the neighborhood, the restaurants and specialty shops, and the subtleties of the food. The selection of tastings was appropriate for the neighborhood. Especially memorable was the olive oil, the pizza samples, and the canoli sample.

Fun time - the guide is SO knowledgeable and the food was really delicious. Its an interesting activity - something different for sure. I'd recommend it to people that not just love food but love learning about it.

There are so many options/tours available and you always take somewhat of a risk when you sign up without knowing exactly what it may be like, but this was by far one of the best decisions I made. My college daughter and I enjoyed Kurt a great deal and found him to be very informative and fun, not stuffy or scripted. The food on the tour was wonderful, with Milk and cookies as one of our favorites. The only thing we wished was that we had more time to go back to some of the places in the evening and have dinner. That will have to wait for the next trip. Enthusiastically rrecommended!!

This was an amazing tour and exceeded any expectations we had! Bert was our knowledgeable guide who kept us entertained and informed! We experienced a diversified group of restaurants and thoroughly enjoyed the selections served. It was worth every penny and thanks to Bert, we had a wonderful experience!

This tour was a lot of fun, and I learned a lot about the West Village too! I love sampling just a little bit of food from each location - perfect for my small group. Thanks!

We took this tour the same day we arrived in NYC and it was a tremendous and helpful introduction. The food was great and our guide was knowledgable, helpful, and friendly. Also, while each sample is small, with eight tastings you end up with essentially a substantial meal; bring your appetite and don't make plans for a large meal later in the day. Kudos to Bert, a tremendous guide. Recommendation for Foods of New York Tours to use him as often as possible. Good familiarity with the neighborhood and tremendous knowledge of the food. We had Cindy as our tour guide and she was fantastic. I have already recommended this tour to several people. It was informative, funny and yummy!!!! I went with my 20 year old daughter and we both really enjoyed it.

Had a great time. Tour guide Barrie was great, giving detail on restaurants, architecture, history, etc. Will definitely recommend to friends going to nyc!

Our tour was a wonderful way to get to know a part of NYC that I had never been in. Our guide, Kurt, (spelling?) was very knowledgeable and quite entertaining. He was a show all by himself. I would recommend this tour for all age groups.

Our family, all adults, thoroughly enjoyed the Tasting Tour of Greenwich Village 10/11. It was one of the highlights of our trip to NYC. It was great to be in a neighborhood where people lived and shopped and learn its history, stroll its quiet streets, and taste all of the great food! We had more than enough food to eat, and the variety was great--pizza, gelato, ravioli, olive oil, cheeses, cookies--I'm sure I've forgotten more. Everything was delicious. Our guide was a native New Yorker, and had lots of great advice for us about Greenwich. The groups are kept to a smaller size so you can hear everything. I would definitely recommend this tour!

Kurt was a great guide who gave 100 percent to ensure that everyone on the tour had a good time. He provided information and fun! Food was good. All round, good value!

The tour was great! Got to sample a variety of delicious food and got a great feel for the Chelsea Market and Meat Packing District. Our tour guide -Kurt was fabulous and really made it worth while in his wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm.

We have taken the other FONY tours of SOHO and Chelsea and have enjoyed them immensly. The Central Village tour we took this past weekend did not dissappoint. Raheem the guide was personable, knowledgeable, and thoroughly enjoyable. If you are not planning any new NYC tours, we'll just have to consider repeating.
