This is a GREAT way to enjoy NYC!

Our tour guide, Bert, was wonderful! The tour itself was educational, fun and delicious! We were all sad when it was over--we wanted it to go on! We had a gorgeous autumn day in the Village, too. I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a fun-filled, flavorful way to spend a few hours!

My partner and I received a gift certificate for the Greenwich Village tour as a birthday present. We were thrilled beyond expectations. Our guide, Bert, shared with us not only the Village's food but its history, culture, and design. He was so knowledgeable! I was entertained throughout the entire 3 hours and did not want the tour to end. I would recommend this tour without reservation and I cannot wait to return NYC to try some of the other tours.

A group of us, 10 friends, enrolled in this tour. We loved every minute of it. Walking the streets of the Village, listening to bits and pieces of its history and sampling yummy foods from the various restaurants made for a truly enjoyable day! The tour guide was informative and lively. Great experience! I'm looking forward to signing up for another one!

I would change the order of the tastings with the dessert items last. Otherwise excellent tour.

Fascinating tour, great food

The tour was really amazing. I had never spent any time in Chelsea before and was fascinated by the history of the neighborhood, on which our guide was quite an expert. Additionally all the places we stopped had phenomenal food, as can be expected in NYC. The tour included cupcakes, seafood soups, Italian cured meats, pasta, and several other things. Very interesting stops, including High Line Park. Wear comfy shoes though, there is a ton of walking. Definitely recommended.

Great area, however tour is lacking

Our group is from Connecticut and like to have a day in NY. Have been on the Chelsea tour and the Greenwich tour pales in comparison. There were very few establishments that we were able to enter and the owners or managers didn't talk to us about their business. Our sit down location (Centre), didn't entice anyone to return (food wasn't good - this place should be taken off the list). All in all I felt like we were a herd of cattle going from place to place, eating on the sidewalk in front of, or near the establishment. At one of the locations we were actually across the street ! At the last stop we were brought into the pastry shop, given cheese cake and not one single person gave a talk about this business NOT EVEN OUR TOUR GUIDE !!! We are a group of foodies and the amount of food given on this tour was much less than the Chelsea tour. I highly recommend the Chelsea tour (if it remains the same as it was last year); more than enough food, and most importantly, each establishment 's owner or manager were very informative. (We entered each location). At our sit down location we were offered a bowl of pasta! All in all, I'm glad we went on the Greenwich tour, only because we found another neighborhood in NY that is worth the trip!

I loved the tour. Bob Gelber was great. The history and information was what really made the tour. I was glad to get a booklet about all the places at Chelsea, so when I return, I can reference it. I have recommended the tour to others and I will be signing up for the other Food Tours.

Diana was our guide and she was great. Very knowledgeable with great enthusiasm. She handled some of the questions from the group (even if they were extremely stupid questions) with great patience and attitude. Would glady reccomend this tour to others.

Thanks to Anne for a great tour that met and surpassed expectations based on the other tours we have taken with the Foods of NY company. Great food tastings and plenty of local history. Also love the re-design of the booklets providing room for notes for future reference.

We enjoyed the Nolita Food Tour immensely. Anny was wonderful - she combined interesting anecdotes, historical facts and a great selection of the yummiest foods ever. The time flew by and we will definitely go on another Food Tour next time we visit NYC. We're from Wisconsin and love food - this did not disappoint!

Fantastic for everyone!

We went on the Chelsea Market tour with a group of seven - including one person in a wheelchair and two food-savvy children (aged 8 and 10). There was something for everyone on this tour, and our guide Cindy kept us all eating and laughing and very well informed. There also wasn't a hitch with the wheelchair - Cindy helped us navigate beautifully. As for the food, our favorites were the soup at the Lobster Place, Sarabeth's biscuit and jam, and Macelleria at the end. My one quibble is that the first tasting is a cupcake, which was hard to enjoy so early in the day. I've taken this tour before, and I love to remember all the great stuff I learned about Chelsea Market every time I go in there. It was the perfect thing to do when family came to town!!

I was looking for something fun to do with our friends from Connecticut and this was a great time! My husband and I are originally from NYC so we have always had the luxury of coming into the city and walking around and we found that this tour offered us an educational experience of the area we already loved. The places that were chosen as part of the restaurant were great! Food was amazing! Our tour guide, Cindy, was phenomenal. She was super friendly and knowledgeable of the area and the history behind the restaurants. I highly recommend the tour to anyone who wants a taste of the city. You get plenty of food in the tour as well as the history behind what you are eating. We were very pleased with the portions of food and they were of excellent quality. We are looking forward to booking our next tour with foods of New York!

Such a fun way to spend the afternoon. I live in the city, and learned about places that I would have never known to go to before. Great food tastings, very informative - Cindy is a fantatic and knowledgeable group leader. I would highly recommend this, and look forward to going on the other tours.

An enjoyable afternoon

The Greenwich Village tasting tour was fun and, in spots, interesting. Our guide, Cindy, had energy and personality to spare, and she certainly went out of her way to try establishing some kind of connection with almost every person in our 16-person group. We especially enjoyed the informative and interesting stop at the olive oil shop; we returned to make some purchases. One of my concerns was that each stop would turn into a sales pitch for the establishment. Although our guide recommended the shops, always with energy and enthusiasm, I didn't get the feeling we were being leaned on too heavily. My one disappointment was with the variety of food proferred at one or two of the stops. I certainly wasn't expecting a full meal, but I did feel that each establishment would offer at least two or three offerings; several did. However, at one restaurant, we were ushered into a rustic kitchen, seated around a wooden table, and each served a tiny dish of cauliflower. It was good, but after being marched through the restaurant, past diners, and seated, I thought we'd be offered at least two samples from the kitchen, perhaps even three. The pre-tour advisory said that participants likely would not finish hungry, but a number of participants on our tour were discussing lunch plans as we approached our last stop. (After purchasing olive oil, we enjoyed small cups of gelato at a shop just down the street from the tour's end.)
