Foods of New York Tours

All 6 of us thoroughly enjoyed it. Our guide was hilarious and made the tour interesting and entertaining. We all left saying we wanted to do another tour. The food tasting was over the top, we were all stuffed. I am giving this tour to my daughter for her birthday...she just needs to line up the friends.

Barri was great! She provided the right mix of history, colorful local lore and great food...all within a few short blocks in the west village. We had so much fun that we stayed well past the tour's end and continued eating and exploring on our own!

An interesting way to learn the history of one on New York's neighborhoods and the way the cultural diversity and architectural. diversity came about. . The tastings were excellent and varied. The tour guide( Barri) was personable, capable and very informative.

I loved the tour in Greenwich Village. Cindy, the tour guide, was fun, smart, witty and on time! She knew the village like the back of her hand and gave amazing local and historical insight. The food stops were great and recommendations of other establishments were priceless. I can't wait to go on the other four tours! Thanks Cindy!

Guide was interesting and informative providing historical background to various locations as well as details of how foods of various tastings were cooked. The variety and quality of the food included in the tour was very good.

Took the tour with my wife and son on Sunday, September 18. Weather was mild and a good day for a walking tour. Tour guide "Heather" was engaging and enthusiastic. These things can be a little bit of an infomercial for the shops you are visiting and that was the case here also. But tastings were interesting and varied. I was a little concerned that we had been on Bleeker street before and there might be "nothing new", but that was not the case. I would recommend this to anyone in the area for the first time or who generally wanted to scope out the neighborhood for shops and restaurants. One note: The tour might consider walking up Bleeker towards the non-food shops and stores just to give you an idea of what is there for later.

The tour guide Daryl was amazing. Full of personality and character. The food tastings were great. Maybe some more walking outside as opposed to everything being contained inside. Overall, the best we have been on. We would highly recommend!

This is my third time on this particular tour and I enjoyed it each time. The history of the area and the foods selected were quite enjoyable. The tour lasts three hours and if you have a guide who knows her history and knows which restaurants to sample foods from, then this is the tour to go on. Also, having a group who interacts with the tour guide makes the tour more special. Each tour guide that I had really knew the history of the area as well as the restaurant contacts. It's quite fascinating. Go for it! You won't regret it!

Being a native New Yorker, I really enjoyed facts about Greenwich Village (and NY ) that I did not know. Great eating destinations.... again.... living here, I apparently don't know all the spots to find a good meal! Am returning to the places I was introduced to.... made sure I took notes! Highly recommend to locals.... and the out of towners in our group seemed to enjoy the tour as well..... Got a really nice feel for the history of the area.... looking forward to trying another tour/section of Manhattan in the future.....

Our guide, the food and the service created an excellent experience. Our group of four included my daughter-in-law and one of her friends (mid-20s) and my sister-in-law. Our guide was informative about the restaurants, whether they were a part of our tour or not, along with information about the neighorhood, including past history, singers, actors, and movie locations. This helped us to see how viable the area is to New York City. We will certainly visit this area in the future.

Loved sampling all the different varieties/flavors of food and hearing the histories of the stores and restaurants.

My husband and I joined the tour late so missed much of the setup information. Regardless, the tour guide and our fellow tourists welcomed us warmly and away we went -- saw many historical and entertainment sites, including movie locations and the very special Village Gate; heard about former, current, and even future famous residents; and tasted wonderful ethnic samples. Had no idea what a gem this area is. Our guide was fantastic: knowledgeable, organized, great sense of humor. Definitely recommend this tour as a fun way to learn of our past and our present.
