This was my third tour with this company and I am never disappointed. There seemed to be even more food on this tour than there was on the other two and I was stuffed after those!! The guides are always informative, casual, fun, interesting and welcoming. The food is excellent. I love that you get a bit of history, cultural references, and architecture on the tour. I've introduced this tour to family and friends and everyone always has a great time. Definitely a fun thing to do in the city and I would highly recommend it. |

Our guide was great for this tour! Obviously a local and a passion for food and the history of the neighborhood we toured. He answered every question without pretense and always gave more than expected. |

It was our first visit to New York and we had this tour lined up for the first day. It gave us a real flavour for what New York is about. The guide was great, welcoming & friendly, involved the whole group - enthusiastic & knowledgable. The tour itself is in an interesting area - and the added bonus of food tastings throughout was great. Would recommend. |

Our guide, Diana, stated at the beginning of the tour that her goal was to make the tour the hightlight of our NYC trip, and it was. Diana kept the tour very informative, interesting and fun. We learned a lot about the history of the Chelsea Market as well as New York history with some architecture, business, real estate, cultural icons, movie references, and great food. My wife and I both had enought to eat on the tour that we did not need for a lunch or snack afterwards - and I consider myself a big eater. (My twentysomething son did have a hot dog afterwards,as he is not much of a snacker and therefore did not sample everything).
The food was in most instances provided in tastings although some portions were more than tastings - especailly the soup from the Lobster Place (My favorite) and what some might qualify as a light lunches at Buon Italia and Macelleria. Without the tour, I doubt that I would have seen the inside of Morimoto or Del Posto (a Mario Batali establishment). Our guide was very informative, out-going, entertaining and humerous.
I came away wishing I worked close to the Chelsea Market so I could easily go there for lunch every day at very reasonable prices.
Tank you, Diana, for a great experience!! |

Best parts:
samplings of different food (we felt like it was less than a meal, but a more than a snack)
historical and personal info about businesses that help you appreciate who they are and what they serve
meeting restaurant owners (a tie to Fidel Castro - amazing!)
enthusiasm and knowledge of the tour guide
the pace
coupons to come back to shop later or to make dinner reservations
restaurants accommodated one person in our group with dietary issues
Not our favorite:
The tour went much longer that 2 hours - we would be fine with going over a few minutes, but 45 minutes is way, way over. Unfortunately that disrupted other plans that were to follow. |

This tour was a wonderful look at the Chelsea Market. Although there wasn't quite as much food as on other tours (Greenwich Village/Soho), the history of the area and variety made up for it. I would encourage anyone to take this tour! |

A year ago my husband and I went on a Food of NY Tasting tour at Chelsea Market/Meatpacking District and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. So this year, I went online to the Food of NY Tours sight and decided to go on the Greenwich Village Tour. We had a wonderful time with Marie, our tour guide. Marie was a delight. She is very knowledgable about the establishments we visited and tasted, as well as the area in general. The tastings were wonderful, especially Joe's Pizza, Faicco's "rice balls" and the chocolate chip cookie from Milk and Cookies Bakery. I loved "O" and Co. so much I went back and bought some of the items we tasted...yummy. I would reccomend these tours to any one who loves history and food....they are well worth the money spent.

My wife and I had a wonderful time with Heather on our gastronomic tour of Greenwich Village. We were a diverse group from all over the world (US, Australia, South Africa) and we all had a good time visiting the neighborhood, sampling foods from NINE eating establishments and shops, and getting to know one another. We will definitely be back to take the other tours offered. |

This is the first of their tours that we have taken in Manhattan. We had a wonderful time and the food was great!
Darryl was our tour guide and he did an outstanding job blending history and comedy. We will be back next year and ready for the Greenwich Village tour which we hear is better yet. P.S. We went back to the Chelsea Market and ordered a steamed lobster from the Lobster Market-best ever!!!!! |

We learned a lot of the "village" and about where it comes from an how it was risen. The food was great, a wide range was offered from Pasta to a Desert, Cubanian to Italian, even Indian food was handed over.
I would definitely take another tour if i'd come to NYC another time! |
