In spite of the extreme heat it was a terrific day

Being a native New Yorker I know there is much to see and do, but how do you know where to go? I took the Greenwich tour, my 2nd, the other being the Chelsea Market, and in spite of the heat on Sunday past it was great - load with new tastes and info. The guide Kirk was humorous and had many off beaten facts that were interesting and funny. This is the 2nd time with him as guide and I highly recommend him! The store/restaurant owners were friendly and pleasant, and I have to say by the end of the tour you've had more than enough to eat not to mention ideas of where to go next time out. I'm planning the Chevy Convertible tour next in the fall and that will be my 3rd. I guess that says something about how much I liked the tours. I keep going back for more!!!

I enjoyed this tour. I think it would have been more fun if we had spent more time outside Chelsea Market....also a bit more variety in the types of food offerred would be a good idea (fewer breads). Overall, this was an area I would never visit on my own and it was fun to see it through the eyes of someone who was very familiar with the area.

I'm a New Yorker excited about showing off my city

There are only superlatives to descirbe our 3 hour tour with Cindy. I was born and raised in NYC and always knew this area as the meat packer's district. I was impressed with the work being done to preserve it as well as the artistic view that the developers have. The food tasting was good but more importantly I enjoyed the descriptions, history and interesting tidbits about this area. I've already recommended it to several of my friends.

Our tour guide, Michael, was fantastic. We learned about local architecture, how the neighborhood has changed and evolved over the past couple hundred years. We got a pretty good idea of the lives of the immigrants who have passed through the area, and of how important the role of food is/was to these different ethic groups because it serves as a link between their native homeland and their new home. Michael's stories of the artists and intellectual movers and shakers were captivating and his genuine interactions with the local residents really gave us the sense that the Village has a small town feel. We look forward to visiting many of the great restaurants we were introduced to.

We thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Our guide, Cindy, was fantastic and extremely knowledgeable about the history of the area. The foods are varied and delicious. It's a great way to spend 3+ hours of your day. I'll gladly go again next time friends or family visit.

This is my second Foods of New York Tasting Tour taken. It is a great way to learn about the city, while having fun. The tour guide on my Greenwich Village outing, Cindy, was a delight. Her energy, knowledge, passion and ingenuity were terrific. Part of the uniqueness of this tour is the ability to interact with all participants at the various food stops. The small size of the group is ideal and the value unequalled. It is a great way to spend a perfect day for both locals and visitors. I recommend highly. Sincerely, Bill Denhard

A 3 hour easy walking tour of local businesses that give you a real feeling for the original immigrants of back when. Interesting background information at every stop- quickly spoken. Great sampling of foods- to tell you where you will stop would ruin the surprises along the way!

Great Way to Spend a Day

Terrific guide. Made the day interesting and fun. Am from the area but learned a great deal about a part of the city with which I was unfamiliar. Nice way to spend a day - even in the sweat of summer (we went on a 95 degree day). Highly recommended.

I really enjoyed the food tour because it is something unique that Ihave never thought about doing before. the only thing missing is perhaps more bathroom breaks. that would have made the tour more enjoyable. other then that, the food was great and the tour was interesting. I would like to do it again next time I went back to new york city.
