Chelsea/Meatpacking Food Tour is Wonderful!

This is the second Foods of NY tour I've taken. Last year I went with my daughter-in-law on the Greenwich Village tour. We loved it so much, that this year we brought our husbands. Daryl, our tour guide was wonderful. He was well-informed, friendly and funny. Most of the tour is indoors within the Chelsea Market. We only ventured out to go to one tasting in the Meat Packing area and walk on the High Line, another highlight and totally unexpected. I did feel funny because we are all native New Yorkers, and though we should have been familiar with the area, we weren't. We could have done this tour on our own, however, the experience would not have been the same. We enjoyed the history and the tastings, which we would have missed. I also enjoyed 3 new foods that I never had before and would not have ordered or tasted if we were on our own. The amount of food is ample. My only complaint, but a small one, is that I would have liked to have ended with the cupcake instead of start with it. I highly recommend this tour, even if you're a native New Yorker!

This was my second time to do the food tour. My first tour was SoHo and also fantastic. I couldn't wait to bring my husband along. He loved it as much as I did! I will continue going on these tours every time we come to the city. Bert, the guide, was funny and wealth of knowledge.

Had a great time. Rahm was a fantastic guide with lots of enthusiam and lots of knowledge of the area and people in the various restaurants and stores. The history lesson of the area was great. It is much more than the write-up on their web page. Thanks for wonderful time.

The Best Thing You can Do In NYC For Your Money

If many of you are like my husband and myself, you might be thinking there are so many restaurants and things to do in NYC, what do we do?...Which restaurants are good? Where can we go to get some NYC culture, but not take one of those touristy tour buses? If that is you, this is exactly what you are looking for! Greenwich Village is such a quaint, and adorable neighborhood with an interesting history. Our tour guide, Barry was very knowledgeable of the area-upbeat and fun. We had such a good time! I am back in Dallas now, and I am longing for those cheesy, deep fried rice balls And, next time we are back in NYC, we will be spending A LOT more time in Greenwich Village! Looking forward to eating at the restaurants on Cornelia St., Home and Palma when we get back to NYC. Thank you for the awesome experience

We were six women, two aged 40, one in her 50's, and three in their 60's. We all enjoyed the tour. My daughter hopes to return with her husband to New York. She wants to stay in Greenwich Village to revisit the restaurants we visited. Great for foodies, in particular, and for everyone who eats. We visited restaurants that I would not have known about otherwise.

This was a very interesting and entertaining tour. The tour guide did a wonderful job of sharing info about the area and the food samplings. I would highly recommend this tour .... I was very happy that the highline walk was included in the tour.

A great introduction to an area unknown to us

Never having been in the Greenwich Village area before, we were treated to some historical information, architectural tidbits, and most importantly delicious food & glimpses of life in that area. We tried some fantastic food and were given coupons for many of the stores. When the tour ended we went back to the stores and bought some goodies to take home. We were also given a booklet highlighting all of the places we visited, so we'll know where to go on our upcoming trips to New York. This was something really fun and really different. We'd do it again in a heartbeat!
