I was slightly concerned when we had no tour guide at 11:40 and our tour was to begin at 11:30--I called the office and informed them of the situation. Within 5 minutes our guide appeared and we started a most memorable tour. Michael, our guide, was extremely knowledegable and it was a GREAT afternoon. We had delicious tastings and learned quite a bit about Greenwich Village. I would definitel book another tour with your company.

Curt was fabulous

I thought we spent too much time at Chelsea Market, but that may be because there are not a lot of restaurants in the area. Curt was wonderful. He's entertaining, friendly, funny and knowledgeable.

Don't go to Soho - try this out instead!

When I booked this tour, my preference had been for either Greenwich Village or Soho, but as it was last minute, the only place left was on the Chelsea and Meat Packing District tour. I did think twice but I am so glad I did proceed with the booking. I turned up at Chelsea Market and was met by the guide - Cindy. She was fabulous! So enthusiastic, full of life and interesting stories. We spent most of the 3 hrs in Chelsea Market - what a facinating place! We stopped and so many places to sample and feast along the way and then finished the tour outside in the meat packing district, which they are now calling MeaPa ... this district is quite surreal, on one side of the street you have chic designers like Stella McCartney and then accross the street you have a meat packing plant with joints of meat hanging from huge hooks. But it was a super 3 hrs and you will love Cindy - such a character! A few tips: 1. Don't eat before you go on the tour 2. Be prepared to eat desert first! 3. Make sure you have some time to look around on your own at the end of the tour as no shopping is allowed! And there is so much to see in this area and some great little restaurants to sample ... Don't go to Soho - try this out instead! If you are interested in food and local culture, you will love this tour. You also get a look at where Sex in the City's very own Samantha lives! 2 for the price of 1 - now that's value! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Great tour! Fun, informative, and delicious

I took the Greenwich Village food tour, with host Curt, and it was very cool. He was very knowledgable, friendly, and the whole group had a lot of fun walking around trying different types of food in the Village. As a local, I was very glad that I can also return to these places whenever I want to try more from their selections. Also, many people on the tour (myself included) were impressed at Curt's ability to remember everyone's name - approximately 15 of us. I'll definitely be checking out the Chelsea Market tour soon.

I thought the guide was very knowledgeable and the food choices were very good. This is my second tour and I like that it is small groups. This guide was courteous and certainly good, but not "warm and fuzzy". A little stand-offish. And perhaps that is intended.

Great way to get a history of the area

This was one of the highlights of our NYC trip. It provided me with the history of the area, safety in the crowd and the opportunity to try some things which I would have never had the opportunity to try with our limited stay.

I am a frequent visitor to NYC and do the mid-town theatre and uptown museum circuit. This time I decided to go back to my teen-age years when I loved hanging out in Greenwich Village. What a great decision to hook up with the Greenwich Village food tour. We had a knowledgeable and personable guide, Christain, and the food samplings were bountiful. I look forward to my next trip when I will definitely book another tour with Zerve.

A friendly and knowledgeable tour guide will greet you, making you feel wanted and welcome, enthusiastic about sharing with you a place they love. The information is varied, extending beyond food to the history of Greenwich, from the shops, owners, residential buildings, formation of the boroughs and much more. Do not be afraid to ask questions, they invite your curiosity, wanting you to feel a part of the tour and not just an observer. As for the food, it is lovely and diverse, spanning many cultures in the space of just a few blocks. The staff's of the various restaurants are also friendly, giving the tour guests quick service and accommodations. The tour provides plenty of opportunities to sit and soak in the environment, as well as restroom breaks. The walking is brisk, but not hurried and the distance covered is easily doable even for a certified couch potato like me. The weather was fairly warm in late July, but the shade was ample and the breeze lovely, making it seem much cooler than it was, in addition many of the tasting stops were air conditioned. I HIGHLY recommend this tour! Fair warning though... you will kick yourself if you make the mistake of eating before the tour. Have a light breakfast, or eat very early and you will be much happier, as the 'half portion' servings you will get on the tour are quite large and will add up in a hurry. Personal note: Bleeker Street Pizza It is the best pizza I have EVER tasted. I was dubious since it has a very chunky sauce, something I dislike, but I was so wrong. I went back twice after the tour, once for each of the two days remaining in the New York trip... it was time and money WELL SPENT! Cheers!

My tour with Cindy was an absolute joy!!!!(Chelsea Market/Meatpacking District). Not only was she filled with tons of fascinating information but I absolutely loved her personality. She absolutely made the area come alive. I will definitely sign up for another tour again. Thank you so much for providing such a fabulous way for me to take a peek into NY sub-culture!

I have taken your other tours as well and they are all wonderful. This trip I also took another history tour that was recommended from a famous guide book and I have to tell you I learned so much more about the history of the area from your FOOD tour than her history tour it was unbelievable. I wish you would consider adding another tour as there were several on my tour that also had been on both of your other tours and were interested in more tours from your company as well. You are clearly the BEST! P.S. Now that I am home, I sure am craving a beef pattie!

What An Interesting and Delicious Tour!

Michael was just the best tour guide ever. Every building, every restaurant, every street, and every bite of food became even more interesting and delicious because of Michael's knowledge and understanding of their past and his ability to bring it all alive in storybook fashion. I left New York wanting to know even more of the history of Bleeker Street and the surrounding area and hungry for more of the delicious Greenwich Village food. Thumbs up to Michael and the Tour! Thank you. S. Marie Vernon Birmingham, AL

I am a tour guide in Washington DC and would highly recommend this tour. It includes lots of history and great food. An excellent way to spend an afternoon in NYC.
