Food & Culture Tour a Highlight of our Vacation
Thu, Sep 17  12:00 PM Chernicky Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
Our Central Village & SOHO food & culture tour was one of the highlights of our trip to NYC. Our guide, Raheem, was so knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and charming. He had such great personal stories to tell about his experiences in the neighborhoods we visited. It was obvious that Raheem had a real connection to the area and that he loved his job. And we just loved learning about the Village and SOHO and sampling the food. I have told everyone here at home what a great experience this tour was and have told them that they must take one or more of these tours if they ever visit NYC.

Information - wonderfully delighted on the information shared Food- incredible, can' wait to try complete dining at all of the places on the tour Tour Guide - completely made the day, no other words but GREAT Would recommend this to everyone that wants to tour the village. Not a lot of walking, so this would be suitable for anyone that can walk slowly for a few blocks. This is a don't miss when sight seeing in NYC!

This is a must to do if you are in New York. Lots of "local" information and great food. Our guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining, lots of fun. It gives you a good feel for NY community in the 'burbs'.

This was a great way to get to know the neighourhood and get tips on places to eat. We ended up going back to one of the restaurants on our tour for dinner the next day and were not disappointed. We were surprised how generous the food portions were. Definitely go on this tour hungry. The food was terrific and the restaurant owners/staff were friendly and welcoming. We're looking forward to booking another tour the next time we come to New York. Thanks for a great experience.

Our delightful guide, Sephrah, really took great care of our group. She had a great sense of humor and was informative and very knowedgable about Greenwich Village and food. Speaking of food...you certainly get your money's worth and everything we ate was delicious. Definitely would recommend.

Good intro to the area for 1st time NYC visitors

Went on the tour on our 1st day in NYC. We were introduced to bakeries and shops which we went back to after the tour as we wanted to try food that wasn't available during the tastings, and to buy others that were. (Murray's cheese store - loved 'ewphoria' cheese, Milk and Cookies - really good choc chip cookies, Rocco - great NY cheesecake). I would recommend going on the tour on a weekday as the streets were pretty busy when we returned at the weekend. There was a lot of food - we were stuffed for many hours afterwards! (Not advisable to have a big breakfast on the day). We were also given a brief history of various places of interest around greenwich village which was good and not overwhelming. Tour guide (Zefra?) was helful and friendly.

This tour far exceeded my expectations. It was well worth the ticket price. The tour guide (sorry can't remember her name) was exceptional. She made it fun and informative. The food we samples was excellent. I've been to Greenwich Village several times before but this tour just gave it a whole new appeal. I would highly recommend (and have).

This was awesome. I wish we had done it earlier in our trip instead of the day before we left. This was one of my favorite things we did in NY!

A Great Food Tour Experience

Our guide, Kurt, met us right on time at the Chelsea Market--he made a real effort to remember and use all of our first names--and was amazingly successful. He really knew the area and told us many interesting things about it. He was very knowledgeable about all the establishments we visited (and there were quite a few), and made sure we all were enjoying ourselves, learning about the Market and meat packing district, and along the way eating lots of delicious food. When we met, it was raining and he said how lucky we were to have chosen this tour as the Market part was all inside--but he promised that by the time we came to the meat packing part, during which we walked outside, the sun would be shining and it would be a beautiful day--and he was right! We also visited several restaurants in the area which was great because we plan to visit Chelsea when next we're in NYC and now we know some good places to eat. Altogether a delightful day. We can't recommend the tour highly enough.

A New York Highlight
Thu, Sep 17  11:00 AM steinbukken Female 30-39 International Tourist(s) Group of Friends
The Greenwich Village Food Tasting and Cultural Tour is an excellent way to get an insight of New Yorkers' favourite restaurants. Our guide was a great presenter and she convinced us to try several of the restaurants mentioned in the leaflet she gave us. At Cornelia Street cafe we had a wonderful pan cake breakfast and just across the street we visited the restaurant Palma and tried their spicy fish soup and fried artichokes. Their Tiramisu was to die for! Next to Palma lies Little Havana where they serve magnificant Sangrias and the dinner we had at Commerce restaurant in Commerce street was definetely worth the 40 minutes wait: Whole Roasted Chicken For Two with foie gras bread stuffing & potato mousseline. Our group of five Norwegians went back home, probably with a few pounds extra...but still it was worth it!

Incredible!

Our experience with our tour guide and group was amazing and one of the best things we chose to do in the Big Apple. Our guide was incredibly knowledgable, knew the neighborhood intimately and was treated as a neighbor by the locals throughout the tour. Her interest and passion for sharing the food, the culture, the architecture and history of the Greenwich Village area was surpassed only by the quality of the food tastings themselves. The only downside to this was that we were full from all of the tastings and couldn't go back to each and every restaurant or establishment featured and eat more! I give this activity a 10+ as did my not-so-tour-loving significant other. He is still talking about it (mostly in terms of "boy I wish I could eat xxxx again"). Excellent!

We had Cindy as our guide and spent a busy three hours eating and learning. The hours flew by and she made it all so entertaining. We learnt a lot about Greenwich Village and New York in general and returned to taste the pizza again, eat some cheese cake and buy some things to bring home. Definitely would book for another tour next time we are back in New York.So Good
