We had a great time.

My husband and I decided to take the tour as part of an anniversay weekend in the city. Our tour guide, Diana, was very knowledgeable about the areas we visited and we tried lots of good food. We couldn't wait to go back to many of the stores after the tour to buy some of the foods we had tasted. I learned a lot about parts of Greenwich Village and SoHo and loved trying several ethnic foods that I had never had before. The tour was great.

We had the BEST time!!!

A group of us went to New York and the only thing on MY list was the walking food tour of Chelsea Marketplace and the Meatpacking District. I was not disappointed! And while we did lots of wonderful things while visiting New York (Theatre, tours, walks and great restaurants) the tour remains my favorite. It was informative, historical, tasty and fun. Bob was our tour guide and he was the best. Not only would I recommend it to friends but I would do it again!

We very much enjoyed the tour, especially of the Chelsea Market. The only problem we had was that we could not hear the tour guide above the surrounding noises.

Can you imagine spending a 4-day weekend in New York City with 6 of your favourite people? And to add to the fun, spending 3 hours with a great tour guide called Raheem! This was truly an enjoyable experience, sampling different ethnic foods while learning about the history and culture of 2 distinct areas of the city. I especially liked the Indian food and the Jamaican patties (so good, we bought extra ones to take back to the hotel). Thank you for a great time. Raheem. You're very good at what you do. One last thing, can you please say hi to the wonderful staff at the Monte's restaurant (Guido, Thomas and the chef Pietro) for a memorable meal and a great evening on Saturday night!

Foods of NY Tour Worth Every Penny!

We thought we were taking a tour of the Food Network when we signed up for this tour. We just laughed at our mistake once discovered, but were very thankful for it later! The tour is of Chelsea Market to start, where you will eat and drink your way through the entire market. (YUM!) I'm not talking tiny samples; you will be full for days. (Don't eat for HOURS prior to this tour!!) My friend and I are Vegans and I was pregnant so several accommodations were made for us--they went above and beyond in that department! You will learn a lot about the businesses and the market itself as well, which was very interesting. Then, you walk outside and throughout the Meat Packing District where you'll see several famous restaurants (inside and out) as well as other neighborhood features. It's a great way to see the intimate side of one of Manhattan's many charming neighborhoods. I highly recommend this tour, which is well-priced, fun, delicious and interesting. HINT: Bring a bottle of water; they give you one but it's not enough. ALSO, wear VERY comfortable shoes--you will do a lot of walking. Bring your shades & dress for the weather as you'll go outside for an hour at least. Finally, bring cash to tip your tour guide. Ours certainly deserved it!

Remember, it's a food AND cultural WALKING tour!

I read up on this tour before deciding to buy tickets. I sought customer reviews with negative comments so I could find out if the "bad" parts were something that would make me steer clear. I sensed that most of these reviewers hadn't noted the Tour's title (Greenwich Village Food Tasting and Cultural Tour). If they had, they wouldn't have been surprised that this tour was NOT a restaurant tour, was NOT an eating tour, was NOT intended to be $40 worth of food, and was NOT a sit-down tour. This WAS a perfect way to get to know part of Greenwich Village, lots of its history and people-flavour and architecture and context of the area (not only within New York City but also the USA). Our guide Michael Karp provided a friendly and fun personality, while revealing his obvious love for his adopted neighbourhood. It IS a three hour walking tour, so be prepared for three hours of walking/standing - this may sound obvious, but I believe that some other people on this tour didn't realize that three hours is three hours long. (Your guide gives you a bottle of water at the beginning of the tour. I would suggest that there also be a second bottle about halfway through the tour - an extremely hot day when we went, and food of the salty kind!). Also, the food tasting is part of the tour, but only part of it. Your $40 gets you a well-informed guide pointing out and showing you things that I guarantee you would not have done on your own. That's what you are paying for, not for a slice of pizza. You will not get the same experience if you walk along the streets yourself, even if you also have a good time doing that. You should think about that when you consider this tour. Don't do a sports tour if you're not interested in sports. Don't do a water taxi tour if you're afraid of water. If you just want to eat a lot, go ahead and do that, for sure! But that's not what is enticing about this particular tour. It's so much more. Ultimately that's why I recommend this walking tour - you can do so many fun and great things while you are in New York City. This tour is definitely worth it if you are interested in what this tour is about. I hope this helps you make the decision that's right for you.

This tour was very interesting. I've been to New York many times before and I would never have know this market existed if I hadn't read about it through Zerve. It was very educational and the food sampling was good. It was 3.5 hrs long and by the end, I was getting a little tired. I would have liked to taste more food rather than the sweets. I am looking forward to doing the Village tour. Our guide spoke softly so at times I had trouble hearing him.

I have been wanting to take this tour for over a year. My husband and I thourghly enjoyed it. It was recommended by a friend. I love Greenwich Village but I now have a better understanding of the area and know where to eat. I just received the olive oil and vinegars I bought at O & Co Olive Oil. I cannot wait to use them. We also want to go back and try Palma, Home and John's Pizza. Our tour leader Mike was excellent!!!! He is such a character. We really enjoyed him and the tour. We plan on taking another tour next spring.

Enthusiastic , knowledgable guide.{Mike}.Enjoyed the insight into Greenwich Village itself as much as the food/restaurants. Went back each night to have a meal at one of the venues- all good. Booking process easy and efficient.

This was our 2nd food tour with your company and it was excellent. It was great to see a different part of NY and our tour guide Kurt was amazing. He memorized everyone's names, was very knowledgeable, well organized and a great guide. Keep up the great work. I have highly recommended this to many of my friends and family and will continue to do so.

Marie was great

We had a wonderful time on our Greenwich Village Tour. It was well organized, everything went like clock work, Marie was warm and engaging and we had fun! I enjoyed both pizzas but maybe would have traded one for something different, maybe falafel. However, I don't know which pizza I would have traded. I guess the thin crust but that's just me. I already recommended this tour to people I know and would certainly try another area. We also lucked out in that the people on our tour were very nice. Thanks for a great experience! Geri Seward
