Great day out - Barrie was very knowledgeable and made the trip very entertaining. Not previously bothered with tours like this but would definately recommend and definately do again if in the area. Would like to have had the cookies at the end of the tour with a cup of coffee perhaps as this would have helped close it and perhaps some of the non meat options should be a little more 'adventurous' but never the less a great day out and well worth it - just wish we had done it earlier in our visit. Thanks Barrie |

First of all - our guide, Sephrah is an extraordinary guide with great knowledge combined with an entertaining style - She was perfect for this job!! She also made us foreigners (Swedes) understand by speaking in a very clear and proper way.
The tour was interesting and we got to learn a lot about the local area, the food, the history and made us discover new restaurants and areas of Greenwich Village, which we didn't know about before. We can't wait to get back there!
Please, give our love to Sephrah from Lena, Peter, Sebastian & Viktor (the gang from Sweden) |

Kids aged 22, 20 and 18 thought this was a highlight of NYC visit. It was a calming respite in a busy tourist visit for me as their parent. |

This was our third food tour and we brought friends for their first tour. We're all food lovers and the Chelsea Market/Meatpacking District tour did not disappoint! Who knew that the Oreo was created right here in New York and that the High-Line existed?!? What a great way to spend an afternoon ... you'd never know that you were in Manhattan! We look forward to expanding our group for our next visit to another a new neighborhood of NYC. Our tour guide, Bob, was informative and showed a real love for his role as a tour-guide - a great ambassador of NYC. Thank you, Bob! |

Our tour of the Chelsea Market and Meatpacking District took us primarily through Chelsea Market with a detailed history of the area and interesting anecdotes about the merchants- previous and current. We had an enthusiastic and animated tour guide (Darryl) who clearly enjoys interacting with people and imparting his knowledge of the area. We were a group of six (four twenty-somethings and two fifty-somethings) and all agreed that the selection of sampled foods was perfect- enough contrast in flavors and food groups to make everyone happy. This was our third walking food tour with this company which clearly indicates our satisfaction with the tours. |

Loved that the break was in that beautiful bar. Nice variety of foods. And there was not too much walking so if you had to go back to buy something you could find it again and weren't too tired to do it. Of course the guide had some knowledge about local architecture and history to make it interesting.

Our group of two moms and three twenty something daughters who all love cooking and food took the Greenwich Village Food Tour with Burt on Easter weekend. Enjoyed every minute of it.....worth every penny. Loved all the info Burt shared with us...food, food shops, history, architecture, restaurants, directions before we left him and all delivered with great humor and such interest. I have been to the Village many times but learned so much and saw areas that I have never been before. Every stop had delicious treats to enjoy. Do not eat lunch before!! We had one gluten free daughter and two vegetarians and Burt and the Food Tour company went out of their way to provide substitutions....especially for gluten free!! My daughter was so happy to be able to enjoy such great treats.....delicious fresh mozzarella, gelato and artichoke salad. Next time we are definitely doing another tour.....if not more and hopefully with Burt!! Thanks, Burt, for a great experience!! |

The tour was excellent. The food was fantastic. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the neighborhood, the architecture, and the food. He was also well trained in culinary knowledge. I feel I could even learn more by taking the tour again. I would recommend the tour to anyone who appreciates food and/or history. |

This is my fourth tour with Foods of NY. It was a good tour and Diana was very knowledgeable. We especially enjoyed her anecdotes about her personal experiences growing up in this area. I think it would have been nice if she had taken a few minutes at the start of our tour for all the participants to introduce themselves and say where they were from. Previous tour guides have done this and I thought it was a very nice touch--personalized the tour a bit more. We will definitely return to Masala Times and Cuba, as well as the Foccaceria. I look forward to taking the Nolita tour next time and hope you will add more offerings for this one since this one was unavailable for at least a month out. I realize that many venues in the Village are small, but it would have been nice to see the interiors of a few of the places for which we had tastings on the sidewalk that Diana brought out. Seeing the interiors adds to the tour and helps me to remember the food and the place. |
