Foods of New York Tours

A friend and I decided to take the tour as we had been on the West Village tour back in the fall and loved it. We were not disappointed! That was due in large part to our guide - Darryl. He was the best! He took excellent care of us and meeting him felt like being with an old friend. The tastings were perfect. Just the right amount of food and variety. It gave us a really good flavor (pun intended) for the Market and the MP District. We loved getting the history behind each of the establishments and especially the history behind the market building itself. He knew so much about the city - especially for a transplant from Texas! The tour was 3 hours and it flew by - - we could have used another 3 hours! After the tour, we went back to the market to buy some of the products we'd tried and learned about. I've been telling all my friends and have given out the website numerous times already. I would do another tour through NY Food Tours in a heartbeat - - and will definitely come back with other friends to do the Chelsea Market/MP District tour again - - hopefully with Darryl! Thanks!

We really enjoyed the tour. Very informative and interesting also the food was very tasty! This was our second tour with Foods Of NY and we were not disappointed. Very well organized from beginning to end, highly recommend!

Tour was well organized, with great choices in terms of restaurants visited and foods sampled. Guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Learned about the neighbourhood's history as well.

We thought our guide was very well informed, her voice projected well [which was important because there is a lot of background noise], and enthusiastic. We got a real sense of the West Village scene, history, culture and food. The venues were fun to visit and the provided food was varied and delicious. We all felt it was time well spent and a reasonable value. I think the narrative would be a little too long and detailed for young children.

We had a great tour. Our guide was really good, she was a local and so informative. We also thought the food was very good. This is our 2nd tour with this company and we will take another one next time we visit .

This was an outstanding tour and well worth the money. I invited a few friends to attend the tour for my 30th birthday. I live in the area and wanted to do something a little more active than just a dinner. We discovered several places in the village that we had probably walked by but never actually tried before which turned out to be outstanding. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. There was plenty of food on the tour, but since we were doing quite a bit of walking, it didn't feel so gluttonous to try it all! The food was some of the best Italian food I have ever tasted. Plus, you get a guide with descriptions of the places we visited, a map, and coupons for some of the tasting places so that you can go back! I would highly recommend this tour and hope I can go on another one soon!

Our host Bert knew so many interesting facts about the city, people, food and general history. Well worth it!!! I'd do this again and again if was lucky enough to be a NYC local !

A great afternoon out sampling the sights and foods of Greenwich village. Our guide Marie was informative, likeable and entertaining. The food samples were really tasty. Would highly recommend! We went back for lunch the next day!

Our tour guide certainly made this tour. His name was Kurt and he was originally from Vancouver, British Columbia. He was funny, enthusiatic, outrageous and knowledgeable all in one. We had an amazing experience and learned many new things about the Chelsea district. We enjoyed it so much we cancelled our dinner reservations that night and went back to the market instead where we chose our dinner from the many different venues we visited. We bought a bottle of wine which they uncorked for us and provided 2 glasses. We sat and enjoyed our smorgasboard of food and wine and relived the tour and enjoyed the markets atmosphere. I would not hesitate to recommend this tour.

Enjoyed the tour, guide was friendly and knew the history of the area. The slice of piza was the best ever!

this was my first time on a food tour. my girlfriend and i came in from NJ and i have never been to the greenwich village area. the tour guide was great and we got a lot of great food (i usually eat a lot and it was filling). it's great the tour accomodates for vegetarians as well, which worked out real well for my girlfriend. the tour of the community was nice as well and it was enjoyable to walk around the city despite the mist of rain. i would definitely do one of these tours again, highly recommended.

My name is Christine. I can't tell you how much I loved this tour, actually it was our tour guide Kurt, that made it so much fun. He knew the history about how chelsea once was and recommended some restaurants in the area. I loved his attention to detail and the little things he knew about each place. I went with my family and friends, and they loved everything about the tour. If you do go on this Chelsea Market tour I would definitely request Kurt as your tour guide. I am definitely going back to Chelsea Market with my friends and try some of their restaurants.

I highly recommend this tour, everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Each stop we made was unique and the food was delicious. Not only was the food wonderful but I also learnt things about Nolita that I didn't know. Our guide was super friendly and obviously enjoyed her job. When I next have guests from out of town, this will be something that is on top of my to do list.
