Foods of New York Tours

My name is Christine. I can't tell you how much I loved this tour, actually it was our tour guide Kurt, that made it so much fun. He knew the history about how chelsea once was and recommended some restaurants in the area. I loved his attention to detail and the little things he knew about each place. I went with my family and friends, and they loved everything about the tour. If you do go on this Chelsea Market tour I would definitely request Kurt as your tour guide. I am definitely going back to Chelsea Market with my friends and try some of their restaurants.

I highly recommend this tour, everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Each stop we made was unique and the food was delicious. Not only was the food wonderful but I also learnt things about Nolita that I didn't know. Our guide was super friendly and obviously enjoyed her job. When I next have guests from out of town, this will be something that is on top of my to do list.

My husband and I have been on 4 different tours with this company and it is truly hard to pick a favorite! They all have been so unique and varied. I would say I loved the history and stories told on this tour more than the food. Loved the Little Cupcake Bake Shop and the pizza at Emporio was fantastic. We felt there could have been a bit more food offered, but overall the tour was wonderful and we would do it again. Amy was a fabulous guide, very energetic & caring that everyone was having a good time. This couple loved Nolita!!

I have been on all of the NYC food tours except for the Chinatown tour. This is by far my favorite. The food tastings were excellent and there were so many, a total of 7. Amy was very knowledgeable and had a great personality. I went on this tour with my husband and family from Houston, Texas. There were 7 of us total ranging in age from 21 to 52, all of us would say this is one of our favorite things we did while in NYC. Everyone enjoyed seeing an actual neighborhood and its characteristic after seeing all the big city sights like the Empire State building, etc. It was a nice break from all the crowded sights we had visited. We even went back to the bakery we started at to get treats to take back home. Thanks for a fun tour Amy!!

A really good way of getting to know the city in a different way, w/ lots of nice snacks and interesting details....

This was my second time taking this tour and it was just as fabulous as the first - actually it was better. New locations, new tastings at same locations, new dialogue and stops on the route. And a new guide! Bert was enthusiastic, informed and relevant to his audience. I cannot believe he has only been doing this since the beginning of this year. Many thanks to Greenwich Village Food Tasting and Cultural Tour for accommodating us and our dietary restrictions too. One of us is Celiac (gluten free) and they had an alternative to offer at every stop. During my next NYC visit I'll be checking out another tour from these guys for sure.

Tour was a bit disappointing. I've been on others and have been very pleased. This one was lead by Barri. She was not as good as other guides in the past. She talked a lot. The food was delicious. We felt rushed at the Cuban stop that we could sit down and order a cocktail that we purchased. We had to leave before we were finished or had a chance to use the restroom. I would give it 2 stars overall. A good guide would have made it a 5.

We did the Greenwich Village tour on June 10th. Our guide Bert was WONDERFUL! He knew so much about the area, every restaurant on the block and the neighborhood and made sure we all knew where we were going at the end. Felt like we were walking with a friend. We learned so much and every sampling was heavenly. Loved Milk & Cookies, Faiccios and Centro most of all, we came back to the neighborhood the next day to retrace our steps and saw Bert leading another happy tour. Even saw a celebrity ( Downtown Julie Brown) entering her home. Could not have been happier and cannot wait to do another Food of NY tour and hope we get Bert again! its a must do!

We had the best time on our food tour through Greenwich Village. The best "basil olive oil" I have ever had! The food was plentiful and the tour was so much more. We strolled through the quaint town and learned the history of the area. So glad we decided to venture out of the typical Broadway visits to the city. We will definately be going again.. maybe Chelsea market next - Don't miss out on this one!

This is a wonderful tour and a great way to spend the day in NYC. Our tour guide, Heather, was excellent. She provided wonderful descriptions of the food we ate and of the local area. Take the tour early in your visit so you can go back and enjoy the restaurants that are highlighted on the tour. I will book another food tour with Foods of New York Tours the next time I visit the city.

This is a great way to get to know a bit about a city. Super guide, fabulous foods and sites. A well-spent 3 hours.

From the first 2 minutes when our guide, Kirk, had memorised 12 participants names and their country of origin, (as well as the 4 people - and their country of origin - WHO HADN'T EVEN ARRIVED!!!), he had us "eating" out of his hand. His enthusiasm was infectious, his local and food knowledge extraordinary, and his delivery flawless. A true professional. Would recommend this tour to anyone interested in this area of New York - the three hours flew by and we all wanted more!

I loved our tour guide, Kurt. He was funny and very knowledgeable about the food and area. He knew all of our names and made sure we were all included during the tour. Since I've returned home, I have told several of my friends how wonderful the tour was. I have also done the Greenwich tour a couple of years ago and loved it. It really is a great way to try some great food and to get to know the history of the area.

I had been on this tour previously. Wanted to share the experience with my husband. We return to New York City from time to time and this is a great way to spend part of the day!
