Foods of New York Tours

Our guide provided a lot of history to the village and SoHo. She didn't overdo it or underdo it. I honestly thought we would eat a little more but the sampling that we consumed were top notch. The majority of the group was Muslim and the guide was very cognizant of these peoples needs. It did not get in the way of the tasting for the pork eaters either. Overall I would highly recommend.

This was my first food tour with you guys, but it defintely wont be my last!!

I thought the tour was informative, intertaining and delicious. Our tour guide was very well prepared. The food was very good and I tried a few things that were very good. The portion size was large but there was enough time between stops to enjoy both the food and the atmosphere. I did enjoy hearing the history of the Meat Packing Market area as well as information about the food and resturants we visited.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our tasting tour through the Village. Burt, our tour director, was fun, interesting and provided us with lots of information regarding the history of the area as well as the restaurants we visited on our tour in addition to recommendations to many other restaurants not on the tour for future visits. The tour was just the right size to be able to walk around as a group on the narrow city streets and still able to hear everything our guide had to say. While the tour was a gift from our daughter, my husband and I will definitely be looking into other food tasting tours in the city. It truly was a wonderful way to spend a Saturday afternoon =)

This is our second tour with the Foods of New York Tours company. We took the Greenwich Tour a year ago and enjoyed it immensely. My husband was a bit skeptical of whether the tour was something he would enjoy. It turned out he thoroughly enjoyed it. So this time around we took our 27 year old son who just graduated from NYU and wondered how he would like it. He also enjoyed it. He wasn't sure about the 3 hour part--but, the tour keeps a great pace and you don't realize the 3 hours have passed. I am from Seattle, Washington and I have recommended this tour to everyone I know that is going to be in the New York area. I have received only great responses back.

Bert was an amazing guide, and we had a blast. We're local, but we learned so much we didn't know, and now we want to take all of our guests on this tour!

Chelsea Market Concourse is wonderful place to visit to experience an interesting aspect of New York. Get a look at the behind-the-scenes of food-centered businesses that are at the heart of the food industry.The walking tour's many sights, sounds, smells and tastes are there for all to enjoy. Tour Guide Bob's knowledge and insights were key to the pleasure we enjoyed on the food tasting tour. His presentation and manner made the tour educational, fun and especially worthwhile. The tour was at pace that was well suited for the concourse and offered a chance to get answers and to spend time observing and learning. This is a wonderful tour that is not to be missed by visitors to New York.

I absolutely loved the tour. Our guide was Marie. She was extremely friendly and very knowledgeable. The food was all so tasty and loved the history lessons . I would do this tour again. I have already been telling people that this a day trip worth taking.

Our tour guide was enthusiastic, friendly, knowledgeble, and fun. The food was so delicious and the proportions were perfect. The people working in the shops we visited were very friendly and accomodating, also the overall "vibe" of the town was very welcoming and friendly.

Raheem, our guide, was knowledgeable and very pleasant. The tastings were all delicious. The portions were satisfying. The selection of the restaurants was decent. Can't wait to do another tour!!!!

Our tour guide Darryl was funny and very knowledgeable about the area. We tasted many things and did not go home hungry. The best was the red velvet cupcake from Elena's. I am vegetarian and at two stops there were special tastings for me. We had such a fabulous time that we all came home with bags full of purchases from each stop. I will definitely be doing this again.

This tour was the perfect introduction to Greenwich Village, providing an insight into what is available for people on all budgets - whether you're looking for a quick slice of pizza, to put together a wonderful picnic for an afternoon in the park or to have a great night out. Bars, delis, bakeries, pizza places and a la carte restaurants of all shapes and sizes - but beyond that, an introduction to the hidden world beyond - including venues for poetry readings, theatre and more. On this occasion my stay in New York was a short one, but I look forward to my next visit and returning to the wonderful places visited on this all-too-short introduction. Excellent value for money and highly recommended.
