Kurt was our guide , and an excellent guide he was too , funny , informative and obviously enjoyed his job , plenty on anecdotes pertinant to the tour and plenty of variety in the shops and restaurants we visited ..... And he fielded any questions , about the tour , NYC , Martha Stewart , anything .......... On our first day in America it got us up and moving and right into the groove , if you are reading this , jump on , we felt tuned into NYC instantly with this little adventure and are very glad we booked it , Tony and Julie from Leeds , UK .

It was a great tour. The guide was knowledgeable and fun to spend time with. I learned a lot about the history and buildings of the area. There was a lot more food than I was expecting but I managed to try it all.

Great Chinatown experience

Nobody could fail to be satisfied with the superb quality, quantity and variety of food and liquid sustenance on offer on this tour, which I took at the end of May 2011, on my last day in the city at the end of a short break. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and brought the whole experience to life, with information on the history of Chinese settlement in New York, the development of Chinatown to what it is today and his own personal experiences of the area. He pointed out various venues to explore after the tour - from bars to restaurants to shops - in addition to those we actually enjoyed along the way. I have made careful note of the places we visited and the menu recommendations for my next visit and have no hesitation in recommending the tour most highly to future visitors. Also represents great value for money.

Lives up to the hype

This was my second Foods of New York Tour and it met the high expectations I has as a result of my very enjoyable first tour. I was completely satisfied. Rahim was very enthusiastic, welcoming, outgoing, informative and fun. I ate well and learned a lot about the food we enjoyed, the restaurants in which it was served, and the surrounding neighborhood. This was all infused with insights only a local New Yorker can provide. I would easily participate in a third tour the next time I'm in NYC. I highly recommend this company.

I really like the experience, actually I would love to have more walking. Dont get me wrong, more walking to burn calories as fast as possible. Really, the food was very, very good, portions satisfying and restaurant selections were really nice. I particulary enjoy the Pecking Duck House @ 28 Mott St. And the final dessert a "Tiger' something roll, was splendid!

Thoroughly enjoyed by all members of our family (ages ranged from 17 to 50 both male and female). Great, enthusiastic and knowledgeable hostess; lovely food to taste and with interesting historical facts about Greenwich Village. Would strongly recommend this tour.

Knowing little of life in Greenwich Villiage, The Food Tour was an excellent introduction to Villiage life and what makes it so special.

Far exceeded my expectations

This tour was the perfect introduction to Greenwich Village, providing an insight into what is available for people on all budgets - whether you're looking for a quick slice of pizza, to put together a wonderful picnic for an afternoon in the park or to have a great night out. Bars, delis, bakeries, pizza places and a la carte restaurants of all shapes and sizes - but beyond that, an introduction to the hidden world beyond - including venues for poetry readings, theatre and more. On this occasion my stay in New York was a short one, but I look forward to my next visit and returning to the wonderful places visited on this all-too-short introduction. Excellent value for money and highly recommended.

Great way to spend a few hours getting to know NYC
Fri, May 27, 11   11:00 AM katiejaybee Female 30-39 International Tourist(s) Other
We enjoyed 3 sunny hours being shown around a neighbourhood. Marie the guide was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The tour focussed on quite a small area, it would have been nice to have gone into all of the shops - although with a group of 16 I appreciate that may have been difficult. We would definitely consider other tours on future trips to the city and recommend you to family and friends.

Wonderful activity while in NYC

This walking culinary tour was perfect. It was informal and instructive. We enjoyed the food samples and the history lessons at the same time. The area covered was not great and would be easily handled by most people. Meeting the people who ran the businesses was fun. i'd do another tour like this.

We had Kurt as our tour guide and you can tell that he enjoys his work. No detail was spared and his humour in presenting each establishment was 2nd to none. I was also extremely impreseed with how he can memorize everyone's name in 10 seconds. Highly recommended.
