Foods of New York Tours

The food tour was really great, mostly because of our tour guide, Kurt. He is great, he made it personal for each of us. He remembered everyone's name and where they were from, amazing. NYC is great.

We weren't sure what to expect on a food tour but this was awesome!!! Our guide was Kurt- he was wonderful!! He gave us so much information about the area, he was so witty and made it so much fun. The food was all delicious and we were stuffed! All in all, it was a great experience and we'd recommend it to everyone. (I don't know if you can request a specific guide but if so, request Kurt!!)

We had a wonderful afternoon with the best guide, thank you Kurt! We loved your enthusiasum & the individual attention. How did you memorize all our names? The food & especially the area information was exactly what we were looking for. I will definitely recommmend this tour to my friends.

We all have been to NYC many times and never have seen the city like we did on this tour! Cindy was a great guide, with an terrific personality. All of us in the group would give this tour 2 thumbs up! We will go back to Greenwich Village with a new appreciation and know that there is so much more to see. Thanks to Cindy for a great time! My tour of the gastronomic, architectural and legendary icons of Greenwich Village was excellent in every way. Cindy the guide seems to own the precinct - she knew everyone and everyone knew her. We were herded with good humour and New York banter from gastric treat to gastric treat, with informative and good-humoured commentary by the owners and by Cindy herself. The whole experience was like being in a New York movie. Well worth the cost!

I was very impressed with the combination of history, food and relaxed atmosphere. Fantastic price!!! I liked that Rahim kept the group on schedule and kept us in order firmly but politely. Sindy could not have been a better and more generous hostess with her knowledge of the food, buildings and folks of Greenwich Village. A great way to spend my first ever day in America let alone New York and on my birthday! The tastings at each venue were enough to whet your appetite and we went back for more of both the Cookies and Olive Oil. The latter has always seemed a bit of a gourmet's mystery tour to me and it was nice to have eveything explained in greater depth especially about what makes a good oil. I'll certainly think twice when shopping now. We also bought more cheese and salami and picknicked on the evening bus tour of the city. Can't wait to make the cookies for everyone back here! Have been to NY several times before, but this is the first time on this tour. Had a great time. Really good introduction to a variety of food outlets and restaurants. After the tour we came back several times to some of the restaurants. Much better food and better prices than uptown. Great guide (Bert) with a friendly, easy going manner. If you like food, then this is a "must do" tour.

This was a perfect way to see Greenwich Village and learn about its food, history, culture and architecture. Bert was a wonderfully enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide. The food tastings were very good and we left full! Will be booking another tour for sure.

Our guide was Kurt and he was wonderful. He was extremely knowledgeable And had a great sense of humor. This tour was more interesting than walking Through a museum. I will sign up for another food tour next time I am in the city.

I have done the Greenwich Village Tasting Tour 4 times now and will continue, but added this one to our trip earlier this month and we were so glad we did, it was great! As with the other tour, the food was wonderful and I love learning the stories and history behind the places we ate at. I have to add that the 5 times now that I have attended these tours, the TOUR GUIDES were awesome! They make it so fun and interesting! Can't wait to do this again next year on our annual trip to NYC!

After reading other reviews, this tour was pretty much as I expected - lots of entertaining talk from our guide, Zephora (?), and lots of variety in foods and info. Never a dull moment! We laughed and listened and tasted and learned and walked - not as far as I thought we would, mostly in the same three blocks, but back and forth. The guide seemed to know everyone and be on great terms with them, which made it more fun for us, supposedly getting the inside track on things! Our favorite tastes were the olive oil shop, the mac and cheese and the cookie! Everything was delicious and getting to eat in the backyard garden was great too; also stopping for a longer time at the wine bar. There was almost too much food offered; several in our group were very full before the tour was over! I would recommend this (and probably others from the same company) to anyone. Thanks so much!

I shop at several of the stores on Bleecker Street and have seen the food tour so when we had guests from Phoenix we decided to try it with them. We all had a wonderful time. The food was delicious and fun. We learned a lot about the Village and our guide was enthusiastic and knowledgable. We will do it again with other guests and have recommended it to local friends when they have out of town guests visiting.
