I loved the history narration as we walked around the Greenwich Village neighborhood. The restaurant staff at each establishment was friendly and prepared. Our tour guide, Diana, was funny and very caring. My mother was tired on her feet and Diana made an extra effort to accommodate her needs. My favorite, though all were excellent, was Joe's Pizza. I will definitely go back there again!! |

If you only do one walking tour and you like food please do this tour. Our guide 'Bert' was very informed and enthusiastic. As well as testing great food we also got to understand Greenwich Village, it's history and some informative facts about the houses and locality. It was a great way to find new restaurants to go back and try later. My recommendation would be do this tour early in your holiday, then you can go back and visit the great restaurants that you are introduced to. A must do walking tour 10 out of 10. |

We really enjoyed our guide, the tour and the wonderful food. Our guide had great knowledge of the area, as well as, the eats. We all would highly recommend it to anyone between the ages of 20-90 that do not necessarily love to cook or claim to be "foodies". Perfect for mother's day! Thank you. |

Our tour leader made this tour for us. He used the city backdrop to entertain us, educate us, and feed us. Very well done Bert! A living sociology study, and that comes from an engineer. |

This is my third or fourth Walking Tour. My friend lives up near the Metropolitan Museum and told me she had not been to the Village in years. To surprise her, I bought two tickets, hoping for the best. She did not seem particularly enthusiastic, but she loved it! Not only the food (we went hungry) but our guide, Bert, answered all her questions about the history of the area. He was great -- pleasant, knowledgeable and cute. Previously I had taken four family members, once with a gentleman friend, and I was once a guest of a local. I have totally enjoyed each and every experience and every guide. Thank you! |

Our tour of Greenwich Village was a wonderful blend of great food, restaurant and food shopping tips, along with interesting historical and architectural information of NYC. This was a return trip for me, bringing my husband and adult children for a very special Mother's Day outing. Bert, our tour guide did a wonderful job entertaining and informing us. We can't wait to try the newest tour coming soon! |

The tour leader Marie was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. It was a great way to see an area I might not have visited otherwise. The tastings were delicious - no need for lunch afterwards. I would advise people to do the tour early on during their stay in New York so they can then come back and revisit the area and take up some of the many restaurant recommendations! We easily walked down to the meeting point from Midtown 42nd street which took about 45 minutes. |

last year on mother's day weekend my mom & i did the greenwich village food tour & it was AAAAAAAAAAMAZING!!! we learned great history about the area & there was ALOT of tastings leaving us stuffed at the end of the tour.
this year we wanted to do chelsea market/meatpacking figuring GREAT FOOD and great history. NOT SO. chelsea market had some AMAZING history and so many interesting facts that i would have never known about. there were only a few tastings in the whole place. we were not full when we ventured off to the meatpacking district but figured we for sure would have a few amazing tastings there. NOT SO. we only had ONE tasting at the very end and although we loved the history part of the tour, we were hungry when it was over. this tour was nothing food-wise compared to our tour last year. i hope they take this review into consideration for the next groups! add more food tastings! there's some great restaurants in the meatpacking...use them! |

It was so much fun to walk around this unique part of the city, learn some of the history and taste some excellent foods! Our tour guide, Bert, was very enthusiastic and engaging and knowledgeable. If you are just visiting NYC I would recommend doing this tour early in your trip so you know some good places to eat and can take advantage of the coupons they give you. |

I have taken the Greenwich Village Food Tasting and Cultural Tour several times before and booked it again when a girlfriend of mine said she was coming to town for the weekend and wanted to do some NYC sightseeing. Two other friends joined in based on my recommendation and enthusiasm for previous tours. We were immediately taken with our Tour Guide, Bert James. What an incredible addition to the Foods of NY Tours family! He is incredibly knowledgeable and extremely passionate about NY in general and the Village area we toured specifically. He is engaging, entertaining and so happy to share his seemingly endless wealth of information with us. He was somehow able to make an already outstanding experience that much better by adding his warmth and charm to the basic tour itinerary.
I should take a moment to also say that the tour itself is fantastic. It covers a very small area of Greenwich Village which is populated with wonderful mom and pop run shops and restaurants; all charming with a genuinely distinct, personal flavor to them. Many of the shop owners were present while we were there and we were welcomed and made to feel comfortable by all we encountered. More like guests than patrons. And the food! The delicious food! Everything we sampled was amazing and left us wanting more. BUT the 'tastings' left us so full we had no room for anything else by the end of the tour!
I simply can't recommend this tour enough. The local history is fascinating, the offerings are generous and delicious and the Tour Guide even provides a map of the area with listings of the restaurants and shops either visited or mentioned during the tour for return visits!
I am so looking forward to my next Foods of New York Tour! |

A beautiful day, a fabulous tour, and a thoroughly knowledgeable guide. What could be better? And oh yes, the food was just wonderful. Diverse, well-paced and tasty. Now I can't wait to sample some of the other tours. There was a nice mix of ages on the tour, from newly married, to middle-aged and older, so everyone felt comfortable.
And BTW, the mojitos were just as advertised: the BEST ANYWHERE!!
In case you are on the fence about taking this tour, just do it. You will certainly be pleased. |

What a wonderful way to explore a section of NYC we otherwise would have passed over. Our tourguide Marie was the best! She kept all 16 of us engaged, interested and especially well fed. We returned to some of the venders to purchase items and definitely plan to make reservations at Parma well ahead of our next visit to the city. We would love to have similar tours available in other neiborhoods! Thank You Foods of New York Tours! |
