I would thoroughly recommend the Greenwich food tour to anyone who appreciates good food and wants to have a more personalised experience in New York. Our tour guide Cindy was really enthusiastic and funny. As a Greenwich native, she really brought the tour to life and seemed to know all the locals. She also recommended various restaurants in the village which was good to know. The food samples we had were all great - plenty to keep us going for the rest of the afternoon.

Best way to start a week in NYC!

I can't recommend the walking tour highly enough! What a great was to start our visit to NYC. If you're planned to take a tour, do it early in your stay so that you can go back to visit all the places on the tour. There's lots to eat along the way and excellent cultural/ historic information about the city as well. Our guide Ed was superb, making the tour fun and fascinating for everyone. We'll be recommending it to others for sure. (We also did the Greenwich Village Tour, which was recommended by another person on our Chelsea tour.) Julie

This was a very informative, fun, and absolutely delicious touring experience. A true discovery of Manhattan. Would recommend to anyone to take this wonderful opportunity to learn about New York history and wonderful tastes of the big apple!

One of our NYC highlights!

Our adult daughter had taken this tour a few months ago with another family member, and she highly recommended it to us. Coming from out of town, we were looking for things to do on our first trip to NYC. She didn't mind taking the tour again, so my husband and I took her and a friend, and she thoroughly enjoyed it the second time around, too! We loved hearing about the history of the Chelsea Market, and enjoyed tasting samples of what all the little shops had to offer. At every stop, there was a place to sit and enjoy the food, so we didn't have to stand for the whole 3 hours. It was a hot day outside, but most of the tour was held inside, which was nice. Restrooms were convenient. When it was over, we all had full stomachs, but we decided to go back to the shop that specialized in teas, and had a refreshing drink on comfy chairs while we discussed what we all loved about the tour. We would highly recommend it for all adults. It was certainly one of the highlights of our trip to the Big Apple!

HOT DAY IN THE CITY
Sun, Sep 14  11:30 AM just1julie Female 30-39 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
We went on our tour on September 14th, and it was a 90 degree day (whew!!). Im not used to the humidity being from Colorado and I don't usually tolerate heat well. Our tour guide was trying to take it slow to not overheat any of us. A 3 hour tour turned into a nearly 4 hour tour, and by that point I was very hot and annoyed by our guide. The food, information about the restaurants and area were excellent, it was just a little too slow paced. I would recommend this tour for the fall and spring when it is not so dang hot!!

A Great Sunday Tour

This was a most enjoyable tour through the Chelsea Marketplace. Ed, our tour guide, was very personable and informative. The food samples were excellent particularly the Fat Witch Bakery brownies. We loved them. The history of the building in which the marketplace now inhabits is very interesting, and Ed did an excellent job of relating that history to us. It was a wonderful three hours. I highly recomment the tour.

We would recommend the greenwich tour to everyone! The tour guide gave us a great sense of the the surrounding neighborhood. The tastings of food were fantastic! We returned to the neighborhood the next day to explore on our own.

Excellent, enjoyable, informative tour

The tour guide probably made the tour what it was. As a long time resident of Greenwich Village, he was a bit quirky and seemed to sum up the unique character of the area. We learnt quite a lot in a short time about the area, in addition to sampling food from a number of interesting retail businesses. The tour did exactly what we wanted it to do, and felt it was well worth what it cost. Armed with the background provided, we subsequently went back to the village feeling that we understood it better. Very enjoyable, thank you!

GREAT - even if you're a local!

My husband and I love to take tours like this in cities that we visit for the first time; but living just across the river, we forget that so many wonderful opportunities are available right here in the tri-state area. Being able to visit an area of the city that is not only so rich in history but a celebration for your taste buds was a plus! We love finding eateries and shops that offer authentic dishes and merchandise.

Food and history both first-rate. Almost as much fun as the original tour, which was one of the most enjoyable afternoons we have ever spent. We look forward to more of these walking foodie tours in the future!
