Perfect Way To Explore NYC!
Sat, Apr 2, 11   12:30 PM missyby Female 20-29 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
I have visited NYC more times than I can count. Normally I would just walk around and explore the city on my own but a friend recommended this tour so I had to give it a try. I was a bit worried that the tour was 3 hours and my mom who has back problems might not be able to walk for that long, but none of that was an issue. The tour is so well organized and they have built in the perfect number of sit down spots and rest breaks. Our tour guide Carrie Ann was delightful and extremely knowledgeable and friendly. By the end of the tour I felt like a true local who knew all the hot spots. I will definitely be doing the other tours the next time I visit!!

This is our third time touring with this company and we have never been disappointed yet. On this particular tour the guide Dianna was very informative about the architechture and the history of the neighborhood. The good thing about these food tours is that it makes a small piece of NY personal. It makes you want to come back another day on your own to try out all the other establishments, and revisit the venues on the tour.

Well, the fun began before the tour even began when the owner of the Cafe came out and informed us it was easier/warmer to sit inside his place then stand outside on the sidewalk.! From then on, it was walking, eating, talking, eating, learning, eating, laughing, eating! And then we ate some more. Certain things I NEVER thought I would like I LOVED, certain foods I had heard about or seen but never had the opportunity to try rocked my world! We even had a lady in line at the pasta store complain we were cutting in line, (we weren't) , and then STOP and listen to everything our guide said, HOLDING UP THE LINE! You should have charged her admisson. GREAT way to spend the day. Now i am off to the gym.............

We were a group of 6 women celebrating a college reunion in the big apple. The tour guide was wonderful, knowledgeable and charming! We learned all about the history of the locations and sampled delicious food along the way. We were joined with a group of women celebrating an upcoming wedding and surprising the bride to be. They were a great match for us. I (we) highly reccommend this tour to everyone!!

Fabulous, Fun, and Delicious!!

First and foremost, be sure to ask for Bert!! Fabulous guide and tour of so many places you would probably never know about otherwise. Very interesting stories about the owners, architecture, and history of NYC. And of course the most important thing~the food samples are plentiful and absolutely DELICIOUS!!! They also give you valuable "insider info" on other hidden foodie treasures in the neighborhood and include a nice brochure with a map of all the places you visited and coupons that don't expire so you can take or ship your booty home. Best day ever in NYC!! Loved it~

Great way to spend the morning/early afternoon

Along with 8 friends, we booked a tour for our friends Batchelorette party (this was how we started the day). Bob was our tour guide, and was very knowledgeable. We would definitely recommend him! The one complaint all of us had was the sequencing of the tasting. I understand logistically why it was done this way, but we all felt a little ill...We started with delicious red velvet cupcakes at Elenis, then had some yummy chocolate milk (Ronny Dairy). Then, we moved onto the fish market for creamy soups. After, we went to Buon Italia for some delicious meats, cheeses, olives and onions. After that, we walked around a little and finished with some delicious Italian food. The history of Manhattan is so interesting, and a lot of people aren't familiar with everything that has changed and affected our city today, dating back to the 1600's. My friends and I can't wait to take another tour!

The weather wasn't kind, so the bits on the street weren't as good as they would be if it were warmer, but that's not your fault. We heard a huge amount about New York food we would never know without going on the tour, and we tasted amazing things. I wanted to go back to them all. Don't miss the (optional extra) mojitos. We did go back for another one of those! I booked a food tour, but also got a lot of information about the Village, its history and buildings, and our guide, Raheem, really knew his stuff. I'm coming back to do the Chinatown tour.

Opera lovers love it
Fri, Apr 1, 11   12:30 PM janqjordan Female 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
Our group of 7, in NYC for opera and shows, decided to expand our knowledge of the city through the tour. Though we have varied food likes and dislikes and one of us has celiac disease, the tour seemed to cater to each! What fun , even in foul weather. And it gave us lots of ideas on places to eat on our next visit.

Excellent Experience

Except for the weather, the tour was great. The guide was genuinely knowledgable and fond of Greenwich Village and this came through. The tastings were fun and informative. It is true, that if you are going around lunchtime, you don't have to worry about getting something to eat after you eat your way through the Village.

I loved the tour

I had a day to myself in NYC and decided to take the Foods of New York food and cultural tour of Greenwich Village. Although the day was very rainy and cold, I loved the tour. Bert was a very enthusiastic and entertaining guide. It was clear that he loved both food in general and Greenwich Village. I learned a lot about the history of Greenwich Village, including the restaurants and shops that we passed, as well as the history of New York in general. The food tastings were absolutely delicious, and I left stuffed despite walking around for three hours. I will definitely go on more tours with Foods of New York and, next time, I will take my family.

Best Way to "Sample" New York's Tastey Treats
Fri, Apr 1, 11   11:30 AM jaimebalint Female 30-39 Local Individual
I went on this tour by myself because I am a big fan of the Food Network and I planned to go to the Chelsea Market, but I was not sure what to see there. I LOVED being able to sample the cuisine from the different market places. When you are by yourself, you want to try EVERYTHING, but you only have so much room in your stomach and money in your wallet. Who wants to spend $5 on a cupcake and throw it out because you also tried lobster bisque, fruit jams, italian meats and cheeses, breads .... This tour was excellent, fun, informative, and interesting. Our host was knowledgeable, friendly, and personable. He was from the city, made everyone feel comfortable, and had a lot of great stories. I highly recommend this tour whether you are with a group or by yourself. Even being by myself, the other people on the tour and the guide were SO nice, that I felt like I was with a group. I never felt lonely. It was an excellent way to see the market and sample New York cuisine.
