A New York Highlight

The Greenwich Village Food Tasting and Cultural Tour is an excellent way to get an insight of New Yorkers' favourite restaurants. Our guide was a great presenter and she convinced us to try several of the restaurants mentioned in the leaflet she gave us. At Cornelia Street cafe we had a wonderful pan cake breakfast and just across the street we visited the restaurant Palma and tried their spicy fish soup and fried artichokes. Their Tiramisu was to die for! Next to Palma lies Little Havana where they serve magnificant Sangrias and the dinner we had at Commerce restaurant in Commerce street was definetely worth the 40 minutes wait: Whole Roasted Chicken For Two with foie gras bread stuffing & potato mousseline. Our group of five Norwegians went back home, probably with a few pounds extra...but still it was worth it!

Incredible!

Our experience with our tour guide and group was amazing and one of the best things we chose to do in the Big Apple. Our guide was incredibly knowledgable, knew the neighborhood intimately and was treated as a neighbor by the locals throughout the tour. Her interest and passion for sharing the food, the culture, the architecture and history of the Greenwich Village area was surpassed only by the quality of the food tastings themselves. The only downside to this was that we were full from all of the tastings and couldn't go back to each and every restaurant or establishment featured and eat more! I give this activity a 10+ as did my not-so-tour-loving significant other. He is still talking about it (mostly in terms of "boy I wish I could eat xxxx again"). Excellent!

We had Cindy as our guide and spent a busy three hours eating and learning. The hours flew by and she made it all so entertaining. We learnt a lot about Greenwich Village and New York in general and returned to taste the pizza again, eat some cheese cake and buy some things to bring home. Definitely would book for another tour next time we are back in New York.So Good

Better then what we thought, the guide was very knowledgable, friendly and the establishments visited were very curteous to our group and they were very willing to answer any questions. I would highly recommend this tour and plan on attending other tours.

Our tour group leader was fantastic - I think her name was Barrie. She knew her stuff and was very enthusiastic about making the tour a great experience for us. The places we visited were very accommodating of us and the food samples were delicious. I guess the nice surprise was the historical element of the tour, which I did not expect but really enjoyed. Thanks!

This tour was lots of fun and great value for money. We discovered some great places that we would not have found on our own. Thanks to all involved.

I really liked the testings, Its food you probably don't try unless someone tells you where to go. The guide was really good, and gave lots of interesting fact about Greenwich Village. With more time I would probably would have done the 4 tours.

A good way to see Greenwich Village

It was good to explore Greenwich Village with a knowledgeable guide. We really enjoyed the tastings which amounted to so much food that we didn't eat another thing all day! We saw some lovely old buildings, courtyards, speakeasies which we would never have found on our own. We will certainly book one of the other walking tours on another visit.

Informative- fun - easy to do

Kurt was affable, informative, easy to be with, and really likes his job, or else he's a great actor. He was a bit a bit "over-the-top" (in a nice sort of way) with his continued reference to people by name just for showing he could memorize the name, rather then whether the person had anything to do with the statement. There seemed to be an inference that everyone "was from Kansas," and that no one knew anything about the Village (I grew up in Jersey, am 70 years old, and was doing the Village jazz and folk music scene in the late 50's), and that New Yorkers are a tad more sophisticated that everyone else. In San Diego, we have awesome spice shops, incredible Japanese cuisine, several chocolatiers, etc.. that could compete with what we experience on the tour (but not the pizza! ). Interesting that we needed to request chop sticks at the Japansese vegetarian restaurant. Not sure if forks only is their usual set-up, or whether it was for the "ousiders" on the your. It was intriguing to re-visit areas that I once haunted, and learn "the story behind the story." Great stuff. We would heartly recommend this to any one!

We had a great tour guide whose name was Kurt. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and there was a wide variety of food. He provided lots of history of the area so we learned as well as ate. The 3 hours flew by. I would recommend the tour to anyone visiting New York. Kurt knew everyone's name by the time we started the tour which made it more personal. It was a great day.

I have been planning to take a foods of NY tour for some time now and I was not disappointed with the Chinatown tour. Besides the wonderful food, the best thing about this tour was our guide, Rasheem. He was so knowledgeable about Chinatown and actually other parts of the city and its food. It was surprising how much food we ate for the price of this ticket. WHAT A GREAT EXPERIENCE!! I am anxious to take other foods of ny tours when I am in town again. Thanks.

This tour has become one of my most favorite memories of NYC. Where else can you get amazing food, a great tour guide and an awesome learning experience that's well worth the ticket price? Also Sephra was awesome. We were lucky to have her as our tour guide, she's so laid back!

Food was great at all stops. Tour guide (Cindy) was friendly, enthusiastic, and very well-informed, delivering detailed info about the restaurants we visited, the food we ate, and the history of the neighborhoods we walked through. It takes about three hours and you won't need to eat lunch. I definitely would recommend this food tour; now that we've done this one, next time we go to NYC we will take one the other food tours offered by the same company.

What a wonderful way to spend part of the day!

My wife and daughter, who is from out of town, went on the tour. There is so much more to NYC than just Times Square! Their guide, Cindy, helped them explore an area off the beaten path and they had so much fun! They said the tastings were great and they came away satisfied!.....There was no need to eat after the tour was over...at least for a while!
