Foods of New York Tours

We really enjoyed the food tour in that we learnt a lot of history about food in Greenwich village and the types available. It's good value and there was plenty of food to try - no need for lunch. The girl who took us was very knowledgable, friendly and funny. Although it's 3 hours there isn't much walking and plenty of sitting. Good for visitors to New York if you've done the major sites and even better for people living near Greenwich village.

A good tour which was made into a fantastic tour by an exceptonal guide (Saffra), a local new yorker with a wicked sense of humour and good knowledge of the area and history. The food was good,with a minimum of walking involved! All in all well worth the money and would thoroughly recommend it.

This tour offers you a great combination of food, culture and history. Our guide Sephera was excellent and had a great sense of humor that energized the group. The food tasting was diverse and allowed you to sample the wonderful fare offered in the village. The area covered was not too tiring for folks who are not used to walking at long stretches. There were enough food breaks in between. You won't need lunch after the tour.

Our Guide Cindy was fantastic!! She made the day! Providing info. color and humor to the tour. I would recommend a bit more main course food tastes and one less dessert. Amy's bread would be a great addition to the tour but overall it was very good.

This is a fun and enjoyable tour with delicious food tasting and great history of the Greenwich area. I highly recommend this as a very fun time! The guide was enthusiatic and knowledgable. I can't wait to take another tour of yours to other areas of New York City.

We had a wonderful time on this tour.. Cindy was superb and her knowledge on every thing was outstanding....... The food tastings were delicious and memorable..I wish I had bought more oils.....

This was our 3rd culinary walking tour with Food Tours, and they never disappoint. Chinatown is an exotic and fascinating NY neighborhood with a rich history and outstanding food. You really need inside knowledge to get a true sense of what the neighborhood has to offer. This tour was fun and informative. Not to mention the tastings....AMAZING! Food Tours always finds the best of the best, and in Chinatown there is a lot to chose from. There are probably hundreds of places to get Dim Sum and Peking duck, but I think we were introduced to the best! This tour is NOT TO BE MISSED!

We enjoyed our afternoon with Heather. She's extremely competent, very professional in her manners of handling a group, moving the tour along to stay on time, providing friendly responses and seeking to please. Her language was also very professional without um, ah, uh, and annoying language habits. She kept us interested, engaged, filled with delicious food and provided "food" for our brains, too. Thank you, Heather, and thank you to the staff for organizing the event.

The tour was informative and entertaining. The food was exceptional. A great way to spend 3 hours on a fall day.

Highly recommend. Very informative and tastings were delish. I will definitely take another Foods of NY tour when I return to the big apple.

If you love food I definitely recommend taking this tour. I took the tour with my sister and sister-in-law. I have been to Chelsea Market quite a few times before but neglected to take notice to the food shops and their variety. The guide (Cindy) was very informative and friendly. The food at each establishment was delicious. We started with a blueberry muffin at Eleni's, moved on to the dairy across for some chocolate milk, proceeded to the Lobster Place for an assortment of soups, took a tour of Morimoto and proceeded to take a walk on the highline and so on .... we ended our tour at a restaurant which made homemade pasta with oxtail (yummy!).

we had a great time, enjoyed learning about and tasting different foods.

I've done all of Foods of NY's tours, and this was my second time on this tour. I can't say enough good things about the operation. My friends from Canada had a wonderful time (we all three consider ourselves "foodies") and the mix of food and history was great as was our great tour guide. It's a lot of standing, and a moderate amount of walking, so wear comfortable clothes and be prepared to be outside 90% of the time. On another note, one of my friends has gluten allergies so I noted that on the reservation and they did a WONDERFUL job of accommodating him. In fact, I was a little envious in some of the tastings of what they had arranged for him specially! None of us left disappointed and we promptly passed out for a good two hours afterwards as there is really that much food! All of their tours are good, but the Chinatown one is a must-not-miss. If you can only do one, do that, but the other three are all very good and highly recommended.

sephra was our tour guide. she was tremendous. knew so much about the city, food,fun. tour was full of information. only have good things to say. would recommend this tour to anyone.
