Foods of New York Tours

Our tour was not only informative but a lot of fun, too. The businesses we visited provided delicious samples & our guide was an encyclopedia of info about the "Village". We would definitely take another tour in the future. Also had the opportunity to visit markets & pastry shops after the tour. Yum!!!

I moved to northern NJ a few years ago and I have done all the touristy things in the city, so I am always on the look out for something new. I FOUND IT! This tour is an excellent way to experience the Village. Not only does it include some awesome food, but it gives you insight to the history of Greenwich Village...and food and history are my two favorite things! Additionally, I think the price is a DEAL for the experience. Our tour guide was Sephra and she was entertaining and knowledgeable of both the food, its preparation and the area. I enjoyed the tour so much that I will be trying some of the other tours they offer. If they are half as good as this one, then they are well worth my time and money! I highly recommend this tour!!!!! (and try to get Sephra!)

Myself and my sister-in-law took the Greenwich Village Food tasting tour. Our guide was Saffra and I can honestly say it was a great 3 hours. It was difficult to pick out the best food we tasted as it was all so good. Saffra was funny, intelligent and very informative. She quickly got to know the 14 people in the group and looked after everyone well. I would thoroughly recommend this tour of Greenwich Village as it is a good way to get to know the area, learn about the history and culture and get to taste some great home cooked food. It is one of the best tours I have been on - in the main due to the intersting subject and the way it was delivered by Saffra. We went back to Greenwich Village to eat one evening as we really loved the area - I would go on another tour next time I visit New York. Margaret Smith Visitor from England October 2010

We had a great experience on the Greenwich Village Food Tour! Our guide was friendly and knowledgable of the food, fun, and history of the neighborhood! My only regret was that we didn't plan the tour earlier in our New York stay. There were soooooooo many good recommendations on restaurants and entertainment in Greenwich Village! Take the tour earlier in your stay so you know where to enjoy a wonderful dinner and take in a play, or listen to some smooth jazz. I highly recommend this tour!

The tour was very informational and entertaining. Our tour guide was very knowledgable. I was expecting more food to sample though.

Wonderful/Great knowlegable guide, he knew so much about food, tastes, history and great places to stop back by....I really want to take Rahiem's next tour...sorry if I misspelled your name...but I love how you did the tour and would recommend anyone take his tour, even thou we were small it was actually better that way. I will be bringing my family back and want the same guide for them....

Had a blast learning so much about the history of the Bleeker St. area and indulging in the fabulous taste bites. Returned to Cornelius Street to dine in the evening at the Cornelia Cafe and enjoy a blast from the past. The proprietor graciously shared his bottle of grappa with us. My daughter and I agree that this tour couldn't have been better. Food selections were marvelous*, the pace was just right, and information about the area was interesting. Our guide (Diana) was well informed and pleasant. Congratulations, FONY! *Do NOT pass up the incredibly scrumptious cauliflower dish (with onions, currants, pine nuts......mmmm).

My wife and I visiting from Edmonton were expecting a local tour of eating establishments, what we got was an interesting history of Greenwich Village. One you could only get by walking through the neighborhood. Our guide Barry was very knowledgeable about the food and the area. It was one of the highlights of our trip, we even returned to one of the stops with guests for dinner. We would highly recommend it and would try some of the other tours on our next visit.

Our lovely guide was Heather and the weather was perfect. I loved getting both the culinary tour, and the short historical/architectural tour as well. The tastings were definitely plentiful. Something that's really important to me, especially in a big city, is knowing the places the locals go and this fit the bill perfectly. I'll definitely be back to visit some of the shops and restaurants I was introduced to on the tour, not to mention just doing another tour.

My friends and I had a great time on this tour. The service, food and the tour guide's knowledge of Greenwich Village were excellent. Keri Ann was fun, very informative and sociable.

My husband & I enjoyed the tour very much. The guide was great. Our group was all couples. The Chelsea Mrkt. is really something to see.
