What a Great Experience -Recommend highly!

When we signed up for this tour, we were a bit leery of what we could expect for the price. After the tour, I will be recommending it to everyone going to New York! I liked getting a history lesson to one of NYC neighborhoods and the food was soooo good. We went back for dinner and snacks to take home with us the following day. The tour group was pretty awesome 9/25/05. We got to learn about each other and laughed alot. Our guide, Curt, was well great! He knew the area or at least dazzle us with his bull if he didn't. :) He answered questions during and at the end and that means any question we had except how he knew Larry. I'm a bit disappointed we didn't get to meet Larry or at least see him? Thanks so much for a great experience. Hi to Oklahoma City, Kansas City, North Carolina, New York, Ireland, and Florida panhandle (was that Niceville?)

My friend and I really enjoyed this tour. Curt, our tour guide was very informative and funny too! It was interesting to learn the history of the markets in Chelsea. Gave us the oppportunity to try foods that we haven't had before. Met lot of nice folks from other states/countries. It was a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

I really liked the tour. Our guide (Kurt) was great. Lots of yummy food. My Dada was visiting from out of town, and he loved it as well. What an interesting neighborhood!

Greenwich village is like the best kept secret for fabulous food, and specialty shops. Not only was the food to die for, our tour guide "Mike" was a wealth of information. If I didn't know better I'd say he was hanging out with Bob Dylan himself. Thank you again for a marvelous day!

Excellent and fun trip through the village

The food was great, the history, culture and context were fascinating, but the Tour Guide - Cindy - was New York personified. Colorful, cultured, caring, and funny - full of the chutzpah that typifies New York. A real insider who gave a real insider's view and had just the right touch at each of the food stops to ensure that we got nothing but the best from the best that the village has to offer. Outstanding! Can't wait to try another tour on our next trip to the Big Apple! More than a tour: a tour-de-force! Contented Canadians

Our food and culture tour was much more than we expected it to be. Our tour guide Mike was very knowledgeable and fun. We learned so much about the history of the Village and tasted many delicious foods from numerous specialty shops. A great tour and a real bargain. Our thanks to Mike, a terrific tour guide.

This was the most fun, interesting and delicious tour I have ever taken in New York....and I have taken many walking tours. My friends on the tour were locals and tourists and we all had a fabulous time. Our tour guide, Mike, was absolutely terrific. He was knowledgeable of the neighborhood history, its residents and the divine variety of foods. Put this tour on the top of your 'Must Do In New York list.'

We had a tour led by a great tour guide, Mike, on a beautful, sunny Fall Saturday. We visited may great food establishments and each tasting was excellent. When they tell you it is enough food for lunch, they are not kidding. More like two lunches, in fact! Mike imparted a lot of local history as well as some good stories thrown in. We would highly recommend this tour even for local New Yorkers!

I've brought people to this tour before and while I usually love it, it wasn't the success it has been in the past. Unfortunately, we didn't realize that one of our guests was lactose intolerant prior to the tour. When we approached our guide, she didn't really try to help. EVERYTHING had dairy in it so our friend was quite disappointed. I know it's our fault for not knowing ahead of time, but she wasn't really sympathetic at all. It kind of started the tour off on the wrong foot. But the food was delicious and the rest of us got extra since the one person couldn't eat anything. It also felt a little disorganized. We got off to a late start and there were some issues with extra people on the tour. I would still recommend this tour to people as I have in the past, this just wasn't my best experience.

Enlightening food & history tour

This well organized tour with a most knowledgeable guide helped us understand the history, architecture, cultural and culinary delights of the Greenwich Village area of New York. My only complaint in a 3 hour tour was that there was no where to sit down to sample the foods to eat. We were a little foot weary at the end.

Chelsea Market Tour Worthwhile
Fri, Sep 23, 05   12:00 PM jodyclovis Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
Visiting a neighborhood of NYC, where people work and call home, was a treat for a tourist in a city, almost too large to comprehend. Walking through the Chelsea Market and the Meatpacking District put a human face on the City for me. Cindy, our tour guide, was energetic and knowledgeable. She seemed sincere in her affection for the area. My suggestions for improvements are two: first, to reduce the size of the group to something more intimate, maybe 12. And second, to spend less time in the Chelsea Market and more time in the Meatpacking District. In the Meatpacking District, maybe the tour could walk through one of the operating meat packing houses and go inside one of the restored buildings.
