Great time to be had

My daughter and I thorougly enjoyed the food tour (and we're from NY) -- and those restaurants that provided samples -- yummy! Actually went back to several of the outlets to buy more. Will try the Chealsea tour next.

Good food but too long!

The tour started out great, complete with perfect weather and a great slice of pizza! Our tour guide, Michael, was very knowledgeable about The Village however, the tour was 1 hour too long. Our group was definitely losing interest with all the history of brick and architecture. If the tour needs to be 3 hours long then allow some time to shop in some of those cute little shops along the way. Although the tour came highly recommended, I would not recommend it because of the length. New York City is spectacular and that I would recommend!

A must when traveling to NY

My married daughter and I did the tour. We thought Mike was fantastic. He's so interesting and funny. We returned two day later to eat at the Greenwich Village Bistro and buy pastries at Bruno's. We have suggested to three other friends who will be traveling to NY that they do the walking tour. I kept the restaurant brochure for future trips. Fantastic!

TAKE THIS TOUR!!
Fri, May 27, 05   10:30 AM mknelson Female 30-39 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
I love food, eating, preparing, looking at...so when I found this tour--I signed up right away. I dragged my friends along and they all thoroughly enjoyed it. The tour guide, Todd, was fantastic, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic. The insiders tour through all the parts of Greenwich was fascinating. What I wasn't expecting-and really found interesting-was the architectural history of the neighboorhood. The food was excellent! Thanks for the wonderful tour of your city and the guide of the locations visited and not visited. I'll be back!

Really insightful tour of the village

My boyfriend usually hates tours but even he agreed that this was the best thing we did in New York. The tour weaves its way around Greenwich Village, diving into a patisserie here and a restaurant there, with plenty of tastings (don't make the mistake of eating a large breakfast beforehand or you will struggle!). Our amiable tour guide, Todd, was very knowledgeable about the area as well as the food. Unlike some of the bus tours that we did, this tour doesn't merely point out obvious landmarks but takes you to some places that you could easily walk past without a second thought, if you didn't know what they were. My favourite place was the Speakeasy with its fake bookcase that swings open if you need to escape in a hurry. You also get a very useful map and write-up of the places you've seen, so you can pop back later (as we did) to one of the restaurants. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the free wine tasting you can do afterwards. New York wines are a bit like English wines... Don't be put off by that though (it isn't part of the tour) - this tour is really good value for money.

Taste of the village

My wife and I just completed our visit to NYC, and in the last minute decided to take a walking food and culture tour of the village. Our guide Todd, was very knowledgeable of the area and of the local culture. The food we tried was excellent and we would recommend this tour to anyone. For us this was the 3 hours was better spent then going to Ms. Liberty.. Perry & LeAnn

Great Tour - Lots of great eats and information!
Fri, May 27, 05   10:30 AM kcotton Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
Our tour guide was very informative and gave us lots of great historical information. The food samples were delicious and we had plenty to eat! I would go again to another one of your tours. We had a great time! I would recommend that your tours are not for any handicap persons, as I purchased some tickets for my elderly parents and they could not attend but would also not been able to do all of the walking and standing. thanks again for a great time!

We spend a fantastic few hours with this very informative tour. It really was the highlight of our trip. We couldn't recommend it more and hope to do the Chelsea/Meatpacking tour next. We especially liked the free coupon to Vintage Wine for the tasting, which was included in the tour. You feel like an insider, a local!

Best Tour for our Weekend

Kurt was incredible. My boyfriend and I did three tours during our time in New York and this was by far the best of them all. If given the chance to do it again we would in a heartbeat. My suggestion, do the tour early in your trip so you have the opportunity to go back and spend more time in Greenwich. Perfect balance of history and culture with more than enough tastie treats. They were also really good to work around dietary restrictions. Next time we are in town we will do this tour again, and we are looking forward to the Meat Packing tour as well.

A fun-filled day

My friend and I (both residents of Great Neck, New York) thoroughly enjoyed the Greenwich Village tour. Our guide was a young man named Kurt (he was friendly, funny, courteous and knowledgeable). In fact, based on how much we enjoyed this tour, we are looking forward to taking the Chelsea Market tour ... and we are planning to ask for Kurt again! We learned so much about Greenwich Village and saw places we would never have found on our own. I am also planning on giving my son and daughter-in-law (who live in Boston) a gift of this tour next time they are in town. I've already been recommending it to friends!

Exceeded my expectations.

A wealth of local knowledge about Greenwich Village and the local establishments. Tastings were substantial and delicious. Rocco' s has the best cannelloni you wil EVER have! I enjoyed it so much I returned to eat and shop the following day. I have already recommended this to friends.

Guide far superior to guides in other tours
Sun, May 22, 05   11:30 AM Charny Female 70+ Domestic Tourist(s) Other
The tour started on time, the participants were perfect for this type of event--congenial and anxious to be involved. Guide was most effective in taking charge, Let us know where she'd be, where to meet, how many minutes she'd be gone. Well planned and executed. The tour dropped to almost zero when we went out of the facility. Altho much of the first portion (shops and future shops) was interesting, the stop at the bar was a real turnoff. It was dirty dark and filled me with revulsion. Could have had a more upbeat finale to such a wonderful day. I have told many people about the tour and suggested they try it when in New York.

A lot of fun

We loved this tour. You'd never get a chance to try all this good food on your own. We're not usually a big fan of organized tours but this one is well worth it. My only complaint would be that they cram a lot into the 3 hours. It would be better if you could see the same stuff but over 3 1/2 to 4 instead of feeling so rushed... but if you can get pas that and you love good food....don't miss this one next time your in NYC

Delicious and informative

This was a lovely way to see and learn more about a little piece of New York which has so much character and charm. Our guide, Kurt, was both friendly and knowledgable about the area, pointing out the best places to eat. There was also plenty to eat during the tour, ranging from pizza to canoli, which kept our stomachs full while we strolled around. During our stay, we tried two of the recommended restaurants and both were excellent.
