Foods of New York Tours

This is my second tour and have enjoyed them so very much. I want to view more and have been telling everyone about them. They are special and the history surrounding them is even more special. I must add, they are very casual and comfortable.

Loved the tour. The guide was very knowledgable about the area and the places she took us to eat were exceptional.

This is the 3rd similar tour I've had the opportunity to experience this year. Loved the activity, including the neighborhood, chosen restaurants, and enjoying it with friends. The only negative this time was that our guide was rather grouchy...while this wouldn't keep me from doing one of these tours again, I did notice a distinct difference, and others did too.

The tour was very informative and interesting. The combination of food and history was great. Our guide, Barri, certainly loves what she does. She was energetic and helpful. This is 3 hours of not just eating, we learned some specific history of the area, as well as current goings on. There was so much information that we felt like we had been visiting there for days. We left with full bellies and excited to plan our next trip to the neighborhood of Greenwich Village.

This is the second time I have chosen this tour and it was very informational. I enjoyed the easy pace, the escort was very nice and knowledgeable. I believe her name was Carrie Ann. She was a student at NYU. The only thing I missed was the presentation from a representatve of Murray's Cheese Shop. Last time someone from the shop gave us information on the process of making cheese. I think it would be nice to have that included. Thanks.

This tour was absolutely delightful! Originally booked for myself as a single traveler, a friend then opted to join me. While Food Tours and Zerve can't promise they'll add someone at the last second, they both were very accommodating and my friend was able to join. We enjoyed the commentaries that Rahim offered -- trivia, neighborhood stories, and plenty of laughs. He was extremely knowledgeable about the area (and plenty of places outside of our walking tour), and he took the time to ensure everyone was comfortable. Staging this tour was perfect - the right number of stops, the right intervals for seated eating versus curbside tastings. The paper guide we each received serves as an excellent resource for future trips back into the area. (In fact, that same evening we returned to Monty's on MacDougal for more of that fabulous Italian food we sampled during the day -- and they recognized us from the tour!) I look forward to many more trips with this company and recommend them to single travelers or groups.

Our guide ,Cindy, was great. She was very interesting and kept it light. The stops on the tour were always full of information that we would never have had access to. There was a good mix to the places you selected.

This is my second time on this tour - I loved it so much the first time that I enticed some of my other friends to join me . Each time our guide has been very informative, extremely personable and lots of fun. I learned a lot about the Greenwich Village area and the many food vendors/establishments there. Want to try another tour from them now.!

The tour was very informative and fun. Can't remember the name of our tour guide but she was AWESOME!!

My husband and I enjoyed the tour very much, guide was great with lots of stories, food was delicious! Can't believe I said no to a second cannoli!

We were a bachelorette party, with attendees from NYC and from outside the city. Everyone enjoyed the tour -- it was a great way to introduce everyone in the group to a bit of NYC history. We particularly enjoyed hearing the history of the area, and wouldn't have minded hearing more! We were also stuffed by the end of the tour, which I wasn't expecting. I'd have preferred to end with something sweet, rather than starting with something sweet, but that's a personal preference. We had Bob as our tour guide, and he was energetic and enthusiastic. No complaints there. The bottle of water was an inspired idea...definitely continue doing that. It would have been better to have seating for everyone at Buon Italia. If the tour is maxed out at 16 people, there should be 16 seats. We really enjoyed getting out into the Meatpacking and in Highline park. Although I thought the tour was expensive, it is NYC and I suppose I expect things to be pricy. I would try another tour.
