We enjoyed our afternoon with Heather. She's extremely competent, very professional in her manners of handling a group, moving the tour along to stay on time, providing friendly responses and seeking to please. Her language was also very professional without um, ah, uh, and annoying language habits. She kept us interested, engaged, filled with delicious food and provided "food" for our brains, too. Thank you, Heather, and thank you to the staff for organizing the event. |

Best food tours in NYC

I've done all of Foods of NY's tours, and this was my second time on this tour. I can't say enough good things about the operation. My friends from Canada had a wonderful time (we all three consider ourselves "foodies") and the mix of food and history was great as was our great tour guide. It's a lot of standing, and a moderate amount of walking, so wear comfortable clothes and be prepared to be outside 90% of the time.
On another note, one of my friends has gluten allergies so I noted that on the reservation and they did a WONDERFUL job of accommodating him. In fact, I was a little envious in some of the tastings of what they had arranged for him specially! None of us left disappointed and we promptly passed out for a good two hours afterwards as there is really that much food!
All of their tours are good, but the Chinatown one is a must-not-miss. If you can only do one, do that, but the other three are all very good and highly recommended. |

Great pace, Sephra was outstanding. Food tastings were perfect. Perfect combo of food and some historic trivia. Will def. recommend this to friends. Got a wonderful "flavor" of Greenwich Village. I have done 3 other food tours in NYC (not with this company)...this was far and away better than my previious tours. |

Our group of four friends visiting New York from the Midwest thoroughly enjoyed the Chelsea Food Market Tour. Besides the really interesting historical & cultural information, the food was great! We would highly recommend this tour. Diana, our guide, was wonderful! |

My friend and I were so glad we chose this tour. Diana our tour guide was very knowledgeable and the food bites were wonderful. We were very full by the end of the tour and even went back to one place for dinner that night. I loved the contrast between the 2 high end restaurants and all the interesting facts about the Chelsea area. Highly recommend this tour and can't want to go back and try one of the other tours offered by this company! |

This was a great tour whicg was lead by a very informed, knowledgable, enthusiastic young lady. She knew how every 'taste' was made and presented it well. She gave us information about resturants tucked away that you would not normally see and definatley ones that I would visit again.
Thank you |

Excellent Way to Explore an Area

We completely enjoyed our walking tour of Greenwich Village. It was excellent because we got to try foods that maybe we normally wouldn't have tried. Also got to experience many different restaurants a little at a time. Because of the history of the area, it was really neat to learn from the guide. Totally recommend this as a way to get to know an area... but be warned you'll want to go back and spend more time exploring yourself! |

Loved the tour. Heather was very nice and knowledgeable. I enjoyed the food also! The little Cuban lady was so sweet and her restaurant was cozy and awesome. Hope to eat there sometime.
I did not enjoy this tour quite as much as I did the Soho tour last year. We went back to Joe's and Pino's from that tour this year to gather up some goodies to take home. Susan made that tour awesome because she grew up in the area and knew so much of the history. I felt like there was much more to see on this tour.
Thanks, we will be back again to try another tour next year! |

I thought Chelsea Market was a most interesting development. Our guide brought out much of the history of the area. I found that most interesting. Oh yea, the samples were good, too. |

An excellent tour. The tour guide shared her local knowledge in a lively fun way such that she seemed part of our large group of friends. The food provided was plentiful although switching between sweet and savoury became a challenge. We would never have got so much from a trip to the Market by ourselves. I will heartily recommend this tour to anyone visiting New York who wants to do more than the standard tourist visits. |

You will not go home hungry! I expected sample size portions such as costco or supermarkets give out for free. This is not the case! These are generous samplings. The Lobster Bisque was a whole cup full.
Our guide Diana was a genuine New Yorker. She really knew her history of the area.
We ate, we laughed, we enjoyed, but most of all we learned. It was a great trip. Equal to the Greenwich Village Tour we did last year. Can't wait until next year to embrace another nyc neighborhood. This is a very professional company. I have been on other food tours in Brooklyn, Montreal and Philadelphia with different tour companies that were not nearly as well done. Foods of NY thinks of every minute detail. |
