We greatly enjoyed our culinary adventure in Greenwich Village although I ate way too much! It was wonderful to find out about great little restaurants that we would never have come across on our own and to explore the area. Perhaps a little more history would have been good but all in all it was a very worthwhile thing to do and we will sign up for more when we return to NY.
Thanks for the opportunity! And our guide was great ... a wonderful sense of humor and an obvious love of food!! |

Excellent tour, Dave the guide was great, very knowledgeable and friendly. We sampled a huge variety of food and it was very plentiful - do not eat a lot before this tour! You definately won't need lunch afterwards.
Can't recommend highly enough. |

Our group - three 50-somethings and two 30-somethings - had a great time. It was our second day in New York City and this was a wonderful way to get a look at Greenwich Village - to get a bit of the history, see how the people live there today, and the best part...getting to try out a variety of foods. Joe's Pizza was great, the bread from Amy's was so good, the cheese, the cookies, the risotto, everything was fantastic!
Our tour guide, Dave, was wonderful and patient - always answering our questions and allowing the photographers in our group the time to take some wonderful pictures - thanks Dave!!
Definitely a tour I would recommend to friends and family. |

Not very touristy (discovering NY at the next level; once you've been to all the 'must sees', this is a great way to explore the city further and get to learn a bit more about the background of a specific area)
Great mix of culture, history and food tastings
A LOT of food!
Excellent recommendations for food, drinks, theater, etc
Enthousiastic and knowledgable guide |

I and my husband took this tour a few weeks ago (end of May). We loved the tour. Our guide was Dave who, besides being very knowledgeable, was extremely personable. You should know that all of the food you get to taste is not selected because the producer pays the tour guide to feature them on the tour. They are selected by the tour guide (or the company) because of the food's quality, flavour, nutritional value, presentation, etc. A bonus for us was that Dave's girlfriend joined us for the last part of the tour and we were able to ask her about other N.Y. things that interested us. The food really was terrific. DO NOT EAT LUNCH before you go. You will not want to eat dinner for many hours after the tour ends. It helped (naturally) that the weather was perfect as well. I would really recommend this, if you are interested in artisanal-quality foods and the history of Greenwich Village. |

We only booked on one food tour because we were worried that if we had to cancel our trip, we would not have backup from Zerve.
We made the trip, and the Chelsea tour was wonderful. We would have booked the rest but they were full.
So, if you know you are definitely coming to NY, book all their tours. You won't regret it. It definitely beats looking at the gazilion Picassos at Moma and the Met.
Our guide Kurt, was charming, did a great job. |

My boyfriend and I did the tour our first morning in New York and it the highlight of our trip for both of us. It shows you the local spots and restaurants which you would probably not see and we spent the rest of our trip trying out the suggested places. The food we got to sample was delicious and more than enough to fill us up. Our guide had wonderful local knowledge too and we really felt we were experiencing life in the Village. I will definitely do another tour on my next trip! |

I went on the other food tours and this one was just as good as the other ones. Our tour guide Curt was really knowledgeable and pretty funny too. I would seriously recommend these tours to anyone visiting to NYC. It's also a good way to find out more about the neighbourhoods. The tasting portions were very generous as well. All I have to say is it's worth your buck! |

We enjoyed the walk, although we would have liked more history/culture information on Chinatown. The food was very good! We also thought that for people not daring enough to try Chinese food, this is a very good alternative to sample "safely" and with guidance and then maybe try more for themselves. On the whole, it was quite enjoyable and the guide was very nice and likeable! |

I thought that the tour was over priced, lacked information and was generally a waste of time and money and would recommend it to no-one. |

Went on the greenwich village tour. First off the guide was terrific - 4th generation new yorker. Gave us plenty of local knowledge (wish I'd gone earlier on my trip to new york). Tastings were pretty varied as long as u r a fan of cheese. Highlight for many was the cookie store. Only disconcerting thing was being chased around by the next tour. Shop owners were friendly.
Anyway the guide made the tour! (And we were glad we didn't have lunch beforehand) |

A great opportunity to see things you've never found by yourself. It was a surprice for my husband and he was delighted. The guide was very good and seemed to know everthing in the area. We had history, culture, architecture, gossip and delicious food. We're definitely gonna take another tour the next time we're in New York. Thank you! / Monika from Stockholm-Sweden |

Great tour leader: cool anecdotes from the neighborhood, great tips for dinner later: we tried the Italian next to Murray's, Pesce and pasta? good food, not so good service. We also went to Palma on Cornelia and that was one amazing evening! Food was excellent, service likewise, and the garden overly lovely. Highly recommended.
The different tastings were almost too generous, but tasty.
The pace was fast, and I would've liked more opportunities for questions (but I do appreciate that time was scarce). So all in all it was a great tour, and a well three hours spent.
Thank you! |
