Tour guide extreemly interesting with a good knowledge of the area. Food tasting was great and we plan to return to the area on our own to tour and taste some more.

Greenwich Village even better than before

We thought so highly of the Greenwich Village Food tour that we booked it a second time three years later. This tour is amazing. The food, history and neighborhood feel is what you need to discover the real greenwich village. I would recommend it to locals and visitors. Our guide, Bert, was extremely knowledgeable about NY culture & food. You could tell he was passionate about his job and he did it so well. We enjoyed our tour so much we spent an extra day in the village and ate brunch at a recommended local favorite. Get out of Midtown and find out the true special spots in NYC! LOVE THE TOUR!!

Nice but needs improvement.

I took the Greenwich tour taste year, and on the basis of that, chose the Chelsea Market/Meat Packing tour, again with my teenage daughter. I enjoyed touring Chelsea Market, which I had never been to before, but there was too much dead time. We didn't exit the Chelsea Market to start the meat packing tour until the 3 hours was nearly up, so we sent a lot of time not moving very far. That's deadening on legs and not very interesting. Once we hit the outside area and visited a couple of restaurants, I needed to leave because of time constraints, so really didn't get to do the Meat Packing District tour part. I presume we didn't miss many tastings, as I got the sense they were all inside the Chelsea Market. I HOPE we didn't miss many, because the food we had was great. As before, parts I enjoyed were the food tastings (all delicious), and getting to see the architecture of the building and the history (but not too much history, horrrah!) The two restaurants we went into (Morimoto's and Mario Batali's places) were lovely restraurants, but what's the point of just walking into a place and then out? Maybe there were some food tastings arranged at some of the other places, but they weren't that amazing locations that a visit was particularly enlightening. How about a least a peak at a menu? I would also totally love to see one of the kitchens gearing up for the evening. I gave this a recommended rating, but waffled between that and neutral. Tighten up the timing, that would improve it a lot. I suspect the fault lies with our particular tour guy (Sam). And I still am interested in doing the Central Village/Soho tour.

Great tour of Greenwich

I'm a seasoned travelor, and am a little leery of city tours, but loved the idea of food tastings combined with the walking tour. This tour worked! The tastings were excellent and varied, with ample portions to enjoy. Our guide Marie clearly loved the area, knew the area, and loved food - great info about the architecture, history, and of course the food. Got a ton of great info to pass on to my sister who lives in Queens, and knows most areas in Manhattan except for Greenwich Village.

The tour was excellent! I work with the tour guide at her other job and was excited to be a part of her tour. I was totally impressed with her knowledge and how she handled everything. It makes me want to pick up a second job as well! As for the tour itself, the food was superb and there was definitely plenty of it. I was completely stuffed and satisfied the end of the afternoon. I have recommended this tour a ton of people and feel like it is a great value and experience. I also plan to go back to several of the restaurants in the future as I live in NYC. In fact, we went back to Chumley's the very next day!

The portions were generous, and the food was delicious! The restaurants were unique and their staff was very friendly. The neighborhood was very quaint for NYC and therefore quite peaceful to walk through. Our tour guide Anny was fun, sweet, quirky, talented and entertaining. I have already recommended the tour to others and I look forward to exploring all 5 tours that are offered through zerve.

Was the highlight of our trip. Great to see some wonderful ( not chains) restaurants in Greenwich Village. Marie (tourguide) was excellent and a pleasure to tour with. Plan to try out a few of these restaurants on our next trips.

A great tour guide - Heather was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, fun, personal, a perfect guide to make 3 hours in Greenwich Village so enjoyable - even in 90 degree weather. Would definitely take another tour because of the excellent quality - delicious food and great information about the restaurants and the area.

We all had a great time on the tour. Our tour guide (Marie) was fantastic. The restuarants that we stopped at were great! Bleeker Street pizza was our favorite spot! Don't hesitate to try this tour. It was fun, interesting, and educational. I am anxious to go back and try the other tours they offer
