Our tour was great! The guide was a native new yorker and even from the neighborhood. It was a great way to experience NYC on the streets with locals and their daily experiences ( like food!). As new yorkers our selves, we appreciated our guide's respect for the importance of leaving space.on the sidewalks and in stores- this was a true new York experience, even if our fellow tourists didn't know it! As nyc'ers we said "we love these tours but their respect and understanding for those living in NYC makes them the best!" |

It exceeded our expectations and was so well organized. Carrie Anne did a great job and provided some great information with lots of enthusiasm. We will be doing other food tours in our future.... |

My husband and I took our second Food and Culture Tour in September '10 while visiting NY City. This was the Central Village and Soho tour. (We took the west Village tour in the spring.)
We found this tour to be just as wonderful as the first. Our tour guide, Raheem, was FANTASTIC, witty, personable, and very knowledgeable of the area as well as the cuisine. The samples and foods we tasted were fabulous! My personal favorites were from Cuba and Masala Times, although they were all just wonderful - Monte's, Focacceria, Joe's Dairy, and Once Upon a Tart.... I could go on and on.
One of the wonderful things about these tours is that the written Guide you receive gives you so much additional information that you can use again and again as you revisit the areas and try other eateries. On this trip, we actually enjoyed brunch at a west village restaurant recommended previously on the other tour. It was perfect!
I think the Foods of NY tours are one of the best bargains in NY City, and we will continue to be patrons. My husband and I highly recommend these tours!
Sincerely,
Teri Norris, Lexington South Carolina |

well organized and well directed tour of Greenwich. When I originally booked the tour I honestly didn't have too many expectations -- just wanted a directed activity for a few hours in a neighborhood I've enjoyed but never seen in detail.
Thoroughly enjoyable experience! Food samples were great and getting "behind the scene" info on the restaurant made things that much more enjoyable. Our guide, Barri, was entertaining and knowledgeable. There wasn't as much walking as I thought -- everything happened within about a 8 block radius-- but this is a fair bit of standing around.
Later met up w/ friends that live in the city and described the tour -- they were very envious! |

Chelsea Market & Meat Packing District tour w/Bob

Our tour guide Bob showed us a great time on the 'Chelsea Market & Meat Packing District' tour. We were about 16 people in our group and first-up was a neat history lesson about the Chelsea Market building and it's origins followed by a delicious cranberry/blueberry everything-cookie from 'Eleni's' bakery. This was one big cookie.
Here's 2 of the food stops:
The 'Lobster Place' gave us a choice of 6 soups to choose from. The New England clam chowder was out of this world!
Then, a nice sit-down deli-spread in the back of 'Buon Italia' with bread from 'Amy's Bread' (Chelsea Market), and 2 kinds of thinly sliced Italian style meats, an artichoke spread, little onions marinated in balsamic vinegar, sweet green olives and smoked mozzarella cheese. (I really liked those little onions)
For me, one of the highlights of this tour was discovering the 'Highline' promenade which is now a beautiful NYC park. Trust me, you will find this place to be a hidden treasure.
There's lots more to experience and I recommend this tour to everybody. Our guide was a lot of fun and really knew his NYC history. It was a great walking tour with 7 individual food stops.
From the Chelsea Market to the Highline, and through the Meat packing District/Fashion Designer area to the final sit-down hot Italian appetizer. It was an excellent 3-hour tour. Thanks Bob!!

This was our second Food Tour and this by far was the best one yet! Our tour guide was very personable and knew the history of the area in and out. He shared his personal experiences with other area eateries or shops that we didn't actually stop in as well. Definitely do not eat before going on this tour! We had enough to last the whole day. The food and experience was wonderful. |

This was an unbeatable tour of some superb delis and restaurants with gorgeous food! It took us to some places that we might have otherwise missed and Heather gave some really useful tips on places that we returned to later in our stay. The food is absolutely fantastic (we had a late breakfast before or tour started - but there is so much food that we didn't need this!). We'd recommend this to anyone. A great way to spend an afternoon and great value considering all the sample foods that are included from Cuban to Italian to cheese tasting, risotto, authentic pizza, and hot cookies freshly baked.... and there was more! The tour also gave a great insight into how Greenwich village has evolved |

My mother and I both had a fabulous time on the Greenwich Village tour. Every tasting was delicious and we were full by the end. Learning about the history of the neighborhood along the way was also a treat. Our guide was very knowledgeable and personable, and we loved that she provided a listing to help us remember the places we'd been (and hints on what we could check out the next time we visit). We're looking forward to trying the Chelsea tour next. |

I wanted to do something fun with my sister and cousins, so I booked a "greenwich village Food tasting and cultural tour". We had a fabulous time with each other and other members of our group. Our tour guide Heather, was knowledgeable and fun. We learned a great deal about the history, architect and food of Greenwich Village. We had such a great time that we are planning another trip of one of the other tours soon! |

Our tour guide, Marie, was great! She was so enthusiastic about all the tour stops and gave us great information about the history of the Village. The food tastings were mouth-watering and outstanding! We were full by the end of the tour but loved all the samples we tasted. I want to take the tour again! |
