fun to do

We enjoyed the tastings and the fact that we wouldn't have thought to try these eateries had we not gone on the tour. We felt that the tour could have been shortened by 1/2 an hour - there was a bit of standing around quiet time and sometimes we just seemed to be going really slow. Our tour guide was very nice, had only been on the job for a year - when she gets more seasoned I think she'll be able to fill the quiet time with more village history, food details etc.

Great tour

Marie was a great guide. Nice balance of Greenwich Village history, and information about the food we were tasting. Didn't feel rushed. The locals know Marie, and she shared that she had a great boss. I liked the fact she liked her job, it showed. Yummy tastings, wasn't stuffed at the end, but pleasantly full. Only draw back was no place to sit mid tour; could have used a little more of a seat break mid tour.

It was one of the best tours we've ever taken.

The tour leader (Maria) was friendly, knowledgeable, and a lot of fun be with. The tastings were delicious and varied and we enjoyed each one of them. Thank you for a wonderful three hours.

We enjoyed this tour so much....one of our favorite highlights of our trip. The food samples were delicious, the history was interesting and our tour guide was great.

An Excellent Activity

This was a great thing to do in NYC. Our guide was excellent--very knowledgeable and personable. We went to various restaurants and a couple of shops. The food we had was delicious. The tour was 3 hours, and the pace was just right. I was pleased with the information the guide gave about the area (history and miscellaneous info). We were introduced to restaurants and shops we might otherwise have passed by. I highly recommend this tour (Greenwich Village/SoHo).

Great, tasty fun!

We had a tour with Sephra, who is fantastic - the hubs and I strongly recommend her for this tour - she's awesome! The "tastes" are way more than than the "samples" you get a grocery store for instance. You do walk everywhere, but it's a nice pace and the stops are frequent. The Greenwich tour is a great way to get to know a part of NYC that can be a little confusing for people who are unfamiliar with the area, while getting to learn fun facts and enjoy tasty food! If you take this tour, ask any questions you may have, you never know what you might discover and learn!

We joined a group guided by Sephrah (sorry if wrong spelling) who was just wonderful. She was so knowledgeable, entertaining and personable that we just didn't want the tour to end. Then there was the food...it was just terrific - lots of variety and all excellent quality. We were accompanied by our two daughters aged 18 and 21 and they loved it all too. This really is simply the best way to explore Greenwich Village not only for the food but also to learn about the history and culture in a relaxed and fun way. The tour was very well organised and planned and I cannot praise Sephrah highly enough - this was the highlight of our short break in New York.

The food tours offer a wonderful way for out-of-towners to see parts of NYC we might not other wise ever get to. Restaurants visited are all great. We did go to one of them for dinner later in our visit and plan to return to others on future visits to NYC.

Food Tasting Tour Fantastic- Sephrah is MVP Guide
Fri, Sep 4  12:00 PM rnorris16 Female 50-59 Local Family Without Children
This tour exceeded our expectations. We have taken tours in Seattle and Rome, but this had the terrific combination of suberb leadership, well thought out places of interest to visit, and delicious food tastings along the way. The tastings were quite generous. Our guide Sephrah, a former pastry chef married to a chef, was entertaining and yet seriously knowledgeable. We would recommend her and this tour to anybody visiting NYC or from NYC (like us...the only two of the fifteen in our group who were local) interested in a most pleasant 3-4 hour change of pace from just visiting the sights. Well worth the admission! Fredi

I'm so glad we decided to do a food walking tour. Food? Walking? Why doesn't EVERYONE do it? Curt was our tour guide and was great. Very enthusiastic from the very begining. I'll be honest, it was a little much at first, but I think that was more because it was 11am and I was just waking up. He had to be enthusiastic though, because I would have hated to have a boring tour guide. Nothing worse than being stuck with someone for 3 hours and NOT enjoying the company. You can also tell he was well liked by all the restaurant owners/workers and they have a great relationship as we were welcomed with open arms to every place we went. I know its all scheuduled ahead of time, but still, seeing the polite pleasantries exchanged between the 2 was nice in the busy city. My friends and I were the youngest (all 25 years old) group there, we had ladies in their (what looked to be) 35+, but, Curt was able to entertain us all. The food is delicious and the information we get on the neighborhood is great and things you won't normally get from a tour guide book. We decided to go to the Chelsea market/meat packing district tour and it did not dissapoint. We stayed in the chelsea market for a majority of the tour before finally walking outdoors and seeing a few different restaurants, walking pass a few high end boutiques and finally ending the tour. The food we tried was GREAT and while it may be common foods, the history behind the bakers, the restaurants, and the knowledge you get is well worth the $44. GIVE IT A TRY! next time I'm in the city, I'll be booking another tour in the other neighborhoods.

Great experience. Our Group Leader, Kent, made it fun and entertaining. The food was delicious and the history of the Chelsea Market fascinating. After the tour, we went back and bought items to take home.

I loved being able to join a group of people with a really enthusiastic and knowledged guide. It was also good that we got a list of places to go, and that the company was open about cooperating with some businesses and not others. It was good getting the printed information as well for later visits to GV. I will recommend the tour + probably join a tour from this company next time I am in NYC.

A wonderful way to spend 3 hours

Me and my partner had a ball during the Greenwich Village tour. Our guide was a lovely woman named Cindy who absolutely made the tour for us. She was full of local knowledge about the area , both historically and culinary. The food we got to taste at each stop was delicious, and after the tour had finished we used the information we recieved to try a couple of resturants out over the rest of our stay, and both exceeded our expectations . If you have a few hours to spare while in NY, then we can't recommend this tour any higher to you. DO IT !!
