Helpful Tour, but a bit on the long side

This tour definitely familiarizes you with Greenwich Village. We had never been to the Village previously. We left with a guide of restaurants and activities that will be helpful during our next trip to this area of the city. We were able to sample food at a number of recommended establishments -- most of the food was tasty. You have to come hungry and forget the diet (you'll consume mostly carbs). The tour leader was very chatty. I'm not sure how much 'fact' is in her dialog (she sounds like she's making things up on the fly) and she loves to talk about herself (I feel I got her full resume) and her husband. With all the chatter, I felt the tour was a bit on the long side (2 hours would have been an ample amount of time, given the locations that we visited). But the guide we received was very helpful. I'm sure we'll return to the Village.

Family in New York to celebrate a birthday. The tour of Chelsea Market and the surrounding area was lead by Todd. Not only did we learn about the history of the area, but we got to eat along the way!! Many family members went back after the tour AND the next day to try some of the restaurants. Would recomend either tour!

There were four women in our group and each one of us loved the tour. The guide was funny, very informative, knowledgeable, and loved what he was doing. Anyway, he did a good job making us believe he loved his job. The food was delicious and the variety was interesting. The only drawback was we didn't have enough time in our personal schedule to go back and explore the places we saw on the tour. Allow yourself time to go back and visit some of the shops after the tour is over.

Got 3 hours? Treat yourself to a novel experience in the surprising meatpacking district of NYC. Curt was our amazing guide filled with humor and wit as he rattled off fascinating area tidbits and doled out tastey treats. Our group ages ranged from college students and up. Included were fun food facts, New York history, celeb restaurants, designer boutiques, and - oh, that bar!! LA loves NYC!

The Village is such a neat part of NYC - and this tour was a wonderful way to see it up close and personal. Our tour guide (whose name escape's me) was fantastic - he was a gentleman who was such an obvious local, knowing all the "gossip" of the town and made us feel like we were out for a walk with an old friend...the tour is a perfect combination of EXCELLENT food and culture.

We had a wonderful tour with a fantastic tour guide. I learned so much about the Village and found so many wonderful stores and restaurants to shop and eat at in the future - I can barely wait to go back! I'll be back in June and will take full advantage of my new knowledge of Greenwich Village while visiting. Thanks for offering this fantastic, interesting, and informative tour!

Tour is very much worth it

I've been to New York several times for business and each time I always like to squeeze in some time to discover a new part of the city. I have been to the village before, but never knew anything about the restaurants, the neighborhood and the history behind it. Being a foodie, I came upon the opportunity to do this tour. Besides just sampling different kinds of food (each tasting was wonderful), I got to learn more about Greenwich Village and what makes it so unique. Susan, my tour guide was very upbeat and informative. She made the tour very enjoyable and also mentioned she did tours of the Bronx as well, which will be something I'll look forward to the next time I come to the city! I definitely recommend this tour!

Interesting but too long

The tour was interesting but our tour Guide, Mike, talked too much and the tour lasted for 3 and 1/2 hours. He gave too much information on things that nobody was interested in. He should have stuck to the food and local history. Instead he told story about local people whom are not famous. The food was good but not fantastick.

Girlfriends day out
Thu, Apr 21, 05   11:00 AM rajhaas Female 50-59 Local Group of Friends
My friends and I enjoyed the trip, the guide talked to everyone and we all interacted. It is a much better time if the weather is good as it was the day we went. It would be a nice touch if at one or two of the establishments there were tables to eat at or put your things on so you could eat better and have wet ones available for your hands. We did go back to 4 of the stores we were told about and shop for things to bring home. The driving map to the parking garage needs to be improved .

We loved the tour!

Our group of five ladies from Arkansas took the Greenwich Village food tour led by Susan. We found her to be very informative about the area and we were surprised by the size of the food samples we were given. They were quite sufficient and very tasty! Naturally we talked about the desserts for days! I would certainly recommend this tour for anyone, whether they are local or from out of town. If I go back with my husband I will probably want to take the tour again with him because I believe he will really enjoy it.

The Highlight of Mom/Daughter/Grandaughter Trip
Thu, Apr 21, 05   10:30 AM Mimisher Female 70+ Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
This was a special event in our "girl" trip to NYC to celebrate a 21st birthday! ....Mother, daughter, and two grandaughters participated in this, and it appealed to ALL of us! We are all adults and decided to do it again when we return, and highly recommend it to others. Our guide, Cindy Keiter, was SUPERB!!! Cultural and historical facts made the tour so interesting, accompanied by delicious snack/examples from various sectors of the retail food offerings in Greenwich. We purchased meals/goods/etc. from many of the places visited on our tour and returned a day later to enjoy more!!!! LOVED IT!!! Sherry Wiese, (THE GRANDMOTHER!) Lincoln, Nebraska

i took my mother on the tour because she was visiting me from seattle. she loved it. it's a great way to get to know the west village and to learn local history. also, it made us very confidant in buying food in the neighborhood. our tour was on a thursday and we went back on saturday and bought food in two of the stores that were on the tour. our guide's name was cindy, she was great.

My girl friend and I loved the tour . It was very informative and we loved all the history as well as the great food. Our guide Todd was friendly and knew his stuff. The tour group was small and it gave us a feeling of being up close and personal with the other memebers. I would definately recommmend this tour to everyone. It was the best part of our trip in the limited time we had in the City. Next time we come we plan to do another of your tours. Thanks for a great time, Todd
