Foods of New York Tours

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this walking tour and our host which gave us a historical insight into life in old and modern in Greenwich Village. There was a good mix of sweet and savory food and historical information as well as modern day stories about the neighbourhood. I don't know how it could have been any better except that 16 people was 2 too many. This was our first visit to New York City and we found this tour to be a great way to get our feet wet and it gave us an excellent focus for our day. I would say this is a must do for a visit to New York and we will highly recommend it to our friends.

I bought my Husband the tour for his Birthday. We both had such a great time! Our tour guide Marie was wonderful! My Mother and her girl friends are going to book the same tour around the Holidays. I may just have to tag along as well. Keep up the good work and thank you. Jen McEntee

We loved this tour. Our tour guide, Marie, was fantastic. She was so enthusiastic and informative. She made everyone feel comfortable and included. She answered all our questions and was so patient with each individual request. Her personality and knowledge was perfect for the job. After the tour, we couldn't wait to get back for dinner on the same night. And even more, we can't wait to do the tour again on our next trip back to New York. Thank you so much for a fantastic afternoon in Greenwich village. We will never forget it.

First, just want to say our guide, Susan, was so informative with the area's history and facts. She made the three hours fly by even though the weather tempature was in the 90's. Spent this tour with my teenage daughter and totally enjoyed the food (And it was filling enough where we only had a light dinner that evening). We are already planning our next Chelsea tour for the fall.

I thought our tour gude Susan was extremely knowledgable about the food, restaurants and the neighborhood. For a girl who lives in NJ and spent many of her 20's in the village, I realized that tI did not know as much about the area as I thought. I was pleasantly surprised with how much I learned and enjoyed the tour. Susan is a real find. She gave us some very valuable information that I would never have learned if not for her. Please Please give her a raise, she deserves it. And in case yoiu are wondering I do not know Susan, I just met her on the tour. P.S. My friends and I plan on heading back to the central village this Thursday night to see a show at the Minetta Theater and eat at the wonderful Indian restaurant on the tour. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in exploring parts of NYC that are more local and less "touristy".

Absolutely loved the tour and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys good food and learning more about the neighborhood. My guide, Susan, was friendly and very informative. There was considerable noise that she had to talk over due to street construction, but even with that, the tour was enjoyable. I look forward to another tour on my next visit. More than enough to eat. Favorites: the pear chocolate tart from Once Upon a Tart, the sandwich taste from Focacceria, and the taste of Indian food from Masala Times. I appreciated the handout that lists dozens of restaurants in the Village.

We enjoyed learning the history of Greenwich Village and sampling the delicious food. Murray's Cheese Shop, Milk & Cookies and Rocco's Bakery were wonderful and we bought some stuff to take home with us from all three of these places. The only negative I have is some of the locals made us feel unwelcome, especially one lady in particular who rolled her eyes at our group when she passed us and said "Oh please" very sarcastically. I don't know what that's supposed to mean, but she was a downer to an otherwise good time.

My husband and two teenagers took the Greenwich Village Food Tasting Tour last week. We absolutely loved it! You didn't feel like you were in NYC. Heather our guide was great, friendly, and very knowledgable about the Village. Every tasting station was delicious. I will definitely recommend this to others and would love to do it again sometime! It was a great way to spend an afternoon- the 3 hours sped by. Thanks for a great tour!

The SoHo Tour was way beyond our expectations in a great way! We had a wonderful tour guide, a very knowledgeable young man who was both a real "foodie" as well as a history buff and seemed very passionate about sharing the many good things about this part of NYC, not just food! We really enjoyed strolling through Washington Square Park and learning of its history. More food than we thought...definitely don't eat beforehand. It was a very well planned itinerary of events, ending with a wonderful "sit down" in a Cuban restaurant where we also got to talk with others in the groups as we had our empanada's....and mojito's....I would highly recommend this tour! Well worth it!

This was a fun tour, lots of food, and some history. We didn't walk very far but this was understandable if you include all the food locations and the speed of the walkers. Although, I still wish we able to see more of the area.

All of the tastings were good, especially the cheese at Murray's. I was surprised though that we stayed on square block radius for so long. I would have enjoyed to see more and hear more history of the city, then so much about food at restaurants we weren't having tastes at.

I highly recommend this tour to anyone that comes and or lives in New York City!!

I heard about the Chelsea Market tour from my friends that recently visited NY. My sisters and I were in NY to celebrate my mother's 70th birthday. We went on the tour on her birthday. This will always be a day we cherish and remember. Great food, interesting history and great company. We highly recommend this tour, particularily on a warm summer day!
