Superbly Comprehensive Experience

Everything about this tour was splendid - the location, the tour-guide and of course the very food we are most interested in (is that just us?). Anywho the guide was expremely knowledgable and presented us with a concice overview of the area as well as introducting, and permiting (obviously!) us to sample, some of the local food. Overall an excellent experience - highly enjoyed and very recommended.

Exceptional tour of Greenwich Village/Soho

The guide, Susan, was wonderful. She was extremely knowledgable and enthusiastic about the area. The food was great; we were not hungry for dinner for many hours after the tour. On the day of our tour the Indian Bread Co. had unfortunately experienced a robbery and so could not be a part of the tour. Susan handled this with great courtesy and tact and the owner met us later on in the tour with samples to replace what we would have received at the Bread Co. This was the epitamy of great service. We will most certainly book the other Greenwich tour when we return to New York based on our enjoyment of this tour and Susan's recommendation.

Boring, dull, not worth the time or money.

The tour started out at a restaurant that was closed due to a robbery that happened over night. Some communication between the restaurant and the tour company could have prevented us from even going to Indian Bread and then having to waste time while the tour guide figured out what to do. The tour guide certainly could have known her history, but she was more concerned with telling stories about her Mother and her child hood that I just zoned her out. There tour was suppose to be humorous, it wasn't. 1-1/2 hours into the tour (and only two food samplings), we could not take the pain any longer. We left and headed to Canal St. An absolute waste of time and money.

I moved to NYC six months ago and took my parents on this tour during their first visit to see me and they absolutely loved it. It's so much better - and more insider-ish - than most of the big-box NYC tours to the big landmarks they've already seen on previous trips to the city. I took this tour about a year ago, and I have to say it was better the first time. My first guide was a native New Yorker, someone who really understood and could explain the flavor of the city. The tour guide on this trip was from New Mexico, and while clearly versed in her subjects, she just didn't have the history and grit of the previous one. The other difference between this and my previous tour was the amount of time the guide spent going on and on about the restaurants - which I think she used to make up for her lack of native knowledge. I realize this is a food tour, but it felt very much like a walking advertisement for Greenwich Village restaurants most of the time. I prefer a little more history and more of an explanation of what it's like to live in New York and less time hearing about "amazing" steaks and "amazing" drinks at this or that restaurant. The guide, though, was very friendly and engaging and from a visitor's point of view, this is a fantastic way to see the city. I will definitely sign up for this tour - and others like it - when we have more out of town guests.

Worthwhile New York tour

We definitely enjoyed our food tour of Greenich village with an animated tour guide. The food we tasted was very good and the tour entertained us of more than we would've gotten from a guidebook. It was definitely do-able for those who might be "fitness" challenged and it seemed we covered a good bit of the West village. Definitely recommended!

ONE OF THE GREATEST THINGS TO DO IN NEW YORK

I have been on this tour 4 times. Everytime I take a new person to New York, I want them to experience this fantastic tour. Every person that has taken the tour with me feels the same way. It is a terrific way to experience the uniqueness of Greenwich Village and all it has to offer. The food was great and we had enough that we didn't need to eat lunch.

My husband & I really enjoyed the tour. Everything was great!!!! Heather did an outstanding job.... she was so enthusiastic and she presented the information very well.... the food was wonderful too. And now we feel confident to visit Greenwich Village and feel like we know the neighborhood and have some restaurants we definitely would go to. Would you consider doing a tour for Arthur Avenue? NICE JOB!!! Group drop down menu should include married couple!!! We are from CT!!!

I went on this tour with 7 of my girlfriends. We are a book club and travel together once a year. We were in NY for just 3 days but this tour was recommended to us by one of our friends so we made it part of our trip. Everyone of us loved it! The tour guide, Marie, was fantastic. Her knowledge of the area and owners of the stores and restaurants was phenomenal. It made the Greenwich Village neighborhood so much more enjoyable for us. The food tastings were great and by the end we could not eat another bite. Everything we tried was fantastic. We so enjoyed seeing where the locals eat and shop. We highly recommend this to anyone who is wanting to get a flavor of Greenwich and learn some of the history.

I have listed family with children....I took my 76 year old mother to new york and we took in the greenwich tour. We both loved it, the tasting of pizza's was great and we would not have experienced 3 different types of pizza on our own. I was so proud of mom that she did so well walking for 3 hours. It was interesting to hear about the history in the village. We bought olive oil at the O&C and went back to Pasha for a freshly squeezed bloody mary, that was enjoyed by both. Our tour guide Marie was great and we both found that she covered as much information as possible in the time that we were together. The only complaint that I had was the last tasting spot, greek food was greasy and not so tasty. It would be great if the tour ended at the pastry shop. Your tour came highly recommended by friends that have done the tour, I am glad that I took their advice. Thank you Debbie McGinn

Heather was our tour guide and I think she did a great job. She was knowledgable and had a very positive and upbeat personality. I was born and raised in New York and I think about 95% of what she told us was all news to me. I thoroughly enjoyed hearing the history behind the area and sampling all of the fun delicious restaturants in the Village. I left the tour feeling full from the food, but happy that we were walking. We spent the remainder of the day shopping in the area and trying out some of the suggested spots. I plan on getting this as a gift to my parents for their anniversary. I definitely want to do a tour of another area and plan on dining in the village more often. Excellent experience!

This was a repeat (went as a couple in February) and we took a group of 9 family members. We loved the history, details, and of course the food and the tour guide! The weather was fabulous - a wonderful day. You won't know NYC until you take one of these tours.

It was exciting to be in the village and we leaned so much about the neighborhood and the architecture and about the people who settled in the area. The food tasting was so delicious at every place we stopped. The samples were large and the explanation about how it was made and the ingredients that went into the preparation made it interesting as well as helping to make choices to purchase some things for our self. Our guide "Barrie" was fun, upbeat and she gather us all around so we could all hear what she had to tell us. This food tour was in the top 3 things to do while visiting Manhattan along with "Top of the Rock" and a Broadway play.
