Foods of New York Tours

This was our second Foods of New York tour; we had done the original Greenwich Village tour last summer. Our guide Susan was excellent--friendly and very informative. The tastings were all delicious and unusual. I highly recommend you do both tours, and if you're new to the area, do the original tour first.

This was our first visit to New York and we were so glad we included this tour as we otherwise would not have ventured into Greenwich village. What a fantastic cultural and culinary experience! There was ample, carefully selected food to sample along the way, but equally as enjoyable was the historical and architectural information about the evolution of the neighbourhood. Our guide, Bari, was excellent. We had our three teenagers in tow and I was concerned that their attention span would be tested but they remained fascinated by the whole tour. The 19 year old son best summed it up: we "thoroughly enjoyed it".

This was my husband's and mine first trip to Greenwich Village. We had a great mix of people (13 + Ed our guide). Ed did a great job in introducing us to the village with a little bit of history as well as the food tasting. Each shop that we stopped at was a fine choice. Ed also showed us around the neighborhood with more info about a variety of restaurants that we didn't get a taste at or places that we might want to visit at a later date. Afterwards we did go back into a few of the stores to do some shopping and talk with the proprietors/and clerks. It truly was a fun time as well as informative.

The tour was great, doing three things. - tastes of very different shops and restaurants, enough food to skip lunch! - some really interesting cultural and architectural history of Greenwich Village - the opportunity to check out places to come back to - many with money off coupons Our tour guide was Barri who was excellent - friendly and knowledgeable. The whole thing is highly recommended

This is a great way to learn about a neighborhood, and to find some good restaurants in the area. Our tour guide Michael was very knowledgeable and friendly, and has lived in the Greenwich area for over 20 years - a wonderful ambassador for the area. All the food samples were delicious and there was a nice variety of offerings, including yummy sweets (the cannoli was a perfect way to end the tour). Our daughter lives in NYC and also thought the tour was great! We went back on a different night and ate at Palmas. The meal was delicious, reasonably priced, and we were able to enjoy our meal in their delightful garden area.

We really enjoyed our tour. The food samples were wonderful and plentiful. Ed was a great guide. We would recommend this tour to everyone.

We were amazed as the choices of pizza, thai food, bread, cheeses, canoli, cookies and more that we enjoyed on this tour! Despite blistering 90+ degree NY weather, we thoroughly enjoyed our taste of Greenwich Village. Our guide was full of fun facts and great inside tips about the current neighborhood and its history. My group consisted of a mom and her 2 sons, ages 21 and 18. We all enjoyed it.

The tour and tour guide, Marie, were just delightful. As a local, most of us rarely do the "tourist" thing and what a mistake! This is a fun must do tour of the Village. Marie was knowledgeable and fun. Thought I knew the history of the Village, but Marie provided us with even more tidbits of information......Speaking of tidbits, the food was delicious and we were stuffed by the end of the tour. Well, not so stuffed as to pass up Rocco's delicious cannoli! Post tour our group of friends retraced our steps and bought more goodies ( cheese, oil, did I mention those cannolis?) to take home. It was a Win-Win for all! Thanks, a wonderful tour. We plan to do your other tours.....in the Fall when it's a bit cooler.

I had a wonderful day. Our tour guide, Susan, was terrific and full of great knowledge of the area. The tastings were very good and fresh. The portions were perfect. I left with a full belly and a new understanding of the area. Great time!!!! Will do it again.

Enjoyed the tour very much. Learned so many new things about the area that I can go back and enjoy even more.

It was a wonderful day, and our group of Red Hat ladies decided to take this tour of Grenwich Village. We are so glad we did!!! Our tour guide Susan was wonderul. SHe was very knowledgable, fun and made the day so enjoyable... I would recommend this tour to everyone!

I also went on the Chelsea Market tour and liked the locations of the Village Tour better but the food offerings from the Chelsea Market tour better. It's a trade-off between location or food! However, I did enjoy both and would recommend them. Thank you.

Guide was very knowledgeable and frindly. It was fun to taste different things, and also to hear about the history. I would highly recommend to anyone, and I am a New Yorker, so I have very high standards! I will do it again when I have out of town guests

A great sample of foods mixed with a little history and little known facts. The three hours will fly. This was my fourth time on the tour and each time is as much fun as the first. Highly recommended.
