Foods of New York Tours

I enjoyed the tour very much. The only complaint I would have was that when the tour was over I couldn't find X&O sauce! I tried a Chinese grocery store but that was impossible. Will definately take another tour.

We have been to New York several times in the last 3 years. I was looking for something unique and different to do on a Monday--due to the fact, that Broadway shows are closed and the museum we wanted to see was closed on Monday. I came across this activity when researching activities on Trip Advisor. I was intrigued by the combination of food tasting in local small establishments and also the cultural history of the area. My husband, to be honest was not too enthusiastic; however, at the end of the tour, he did tell me he really enjoyed it. This is definitely a tour I would recommend to anyone visiting New York. In fact, we are coming back in November and I am thinking of taking another tour if the weather is decent. The guide was really excellent also. Great job of selecting food tastings at a variety of establishments. If we were not leaving the next day, I would have made reservations at one of the restaurants we had a food sampling at. I love the fact that we were introduced to these smaller establishments. When traveling, I tend to go to the bigger restaurants in main tourist areas. Big mistake as I just found out coming back from New York and Washington DC. I now think it is the smaller and more intimate restaurants that have better food and a memorable atmosphere.

yes, Barri is a great guide! Full of information...friendly...authoritative...the food selection was varied and wonderful. the pizza places chosen were fine, of course , we're from new haven and to us all nyc pizza is a shadow of the real thing. except for that snarky quibble, we had a wonderful day. you get my highest endorsement.

We have been to NY many times, but have always done our own thing. I wanted to do a tour to give us some better insight, while still having fun. This tour was wonderful, you get tons of AWESOME food, lots of tid bit facts of the area and how it came about, and confidence to come back to the area on your own to enjoy it's uniqueness. We have already decided that our next trip we are going to come back and enjoy the restaurants there. Our guide Barri was wonderful!

We had a great time!

We took this tour on a Sunday while visiting the city. It was great to get away from the crowded tourist areas and to experience the neighborhood like a local! Our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the Village. She pointed out many of the restaurants along the route we took and described them in case we wanted to go back to them later. The food we tried was varied, yummy, and definitely enough that we weren't hungry afterwards. This tour is a great way to spend an afternoon.

I would highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to know more about NYC! food was amazing...and tour guide was so knowledgeable and really gave such insight about Greenwich village. Really enjoyed seeing the other side of New York.

Loved the tour!

This tour was fantastic! It was a comprehensive historical and cultural look at Greenwich Village, and the food was excellent! There was a lot of variety in the things sampled and they were spread out perfectly. Our guide, Heather, was wonderful and enthusiastic. I would recommend this tour to ANYONE, even a native New Yorker, it was that fun!

Very nice tour, delicious tastings, perfect guide

Took this tour for a second time because one of my friends was not feeling well the first time we took it. It was awesome. We couldn't even think of eating dinner until 8:30 that night (and our tour was finished at 2). There were different tastings and points of interest than the last time. Although some of the information was the same, I had absolutely no problem hearing it again, and would even take it a third time. Our tour guide Sephra was hilarious, knowledgeable, and entertaining (as was the tour guide the last time). I toured with my best friend and my 15 year old cousin. The 15 year old enjoyed all of the pop culture information, as well as seeing someone fairly famous while on the tour. She also tried all of the food, even though she can be a picky eater. I would recommend this tour to ANYONE and will definitely take another tour by this group the next time I go to New York. It was well worth the ticket price and time flew by ("it wasn't long and boring" - 15yr old). It was VERY enjoyable!

My husband and I loved this tour. We were in NY for 6 days and this definitely topped the list of one of our favorite things we did. Our tour guide was HILARIOUS and food was AMAZING. Will def do again next time-different area

Loved the tour and would highly recommend as a way to see the Greenwich Village. The food was delicious and plenty to eat for lunch. I took the 11:00 tour and stayed in the area so we could eat dinner later. Our tour guide was very nice and funny!
