best organized and enthusiastic

This was one of the best organized tours I have ever taken. Rahim's excitement for the neighborhood shined through in his explanations of the history and culture of the area as well as present day information. The restaurants and in particular the food choices were absolutely amazing. The written information provided during the tour will guide me back to the places we visited and to some of the best bites of food I have ever sampled and also to places and dishes described in such detail by Rahim that I can't wait to return to New York to find these hidden gems. Our entire group was absolutely full of food and knowledge at the end of the tour. Rahim clearly has a passion for food and culture and I would recommend any tour that he leads.

More than we expected

The tour guide was AMAZING. She was very knowledgeable on the history of the area as well as the history of the restaurants, the buildings they were in and their owners. We took a small detour away from the food to learn some interesting facts of Greenwich Village like were the skinniest house in Manhattan is and where Ken and Barbie were born. Would do it all over again if we could.

An amazing foodie experience led by a local expert

Every visit was culinary delight. From the pizza to cauliflower florettes with pine nuts. Our guide was a true local and she really gave us a great sense of what the old new York was like. We ate plenty and learned from the store owners and chefs. I highly recommend this tour as it really showcases great food in ny.

Excellent food and informative tour of the village

The Greenwich food tour was excellent! We went in freezing temperatures, with snow everywhere, but the pace of the tour kept us interested and we forgot about how cold it was. We had 8-10 samples of food, each being something that was really tasty and something that we probably wouldn't have picked out by ourselves. We were full by the end of the tastings. The tour guide explained about the history of the area and recommended places to eat on other occasions. The guide also gave us tons of information about the history of the area and the architecture. I will recommend this tour to everyone in future.

Food, history and a blizzard all in one day.

Our tour was part of a pre-Christmas present to our children, one from Portland, Oregon and the other from Ocean, NJ. We didn't care that the blizzard was fast approaching as we ate the most delicious rice balls outside on the street corner feeling snowflakes tickle our noses, then warming up in a wonderful Cuban restaurant as the temperature started dropping significantly, because our tour guide, wearing her Jets cap, green jacket and pants, kept us all laughing. This tour is a great way to gather family and friends for a fun day in the Village. Food and history -- can't get any better. And, it's a wonderful gift to give to someone, or even yourself because you'll never be disappointed in the tours this company offers.

Although I live locally, the tour offered plenty of new places to go and wonderful tastings that will definitely have you going back to the locations on the tour.

My husband and I did this particular tour with our 30 year old son and daughter-in-law who live in Manhattan. They are always interested in learning about new places, and we all love food. We enjoyed the detailed explanations of each place and the food we tried. The history of each tasting place and of the area was very interesting. The timing of the tour was good and in general was just very enjoyable. A good way to spend time in NYC! We look forward to going back to several of the restaurants on our next visit.

We gave this tour as a gift to a local friend we've stayed with. He loved it and said he'll send all his visitors and local friends to take it too. It's great to feel a bit off the beaten track and get to know more about this beautiful neighbourhood.

There were four of us in our group (Canadians between the ages of 38 and 41) and we were really looking forward to our tour. We were not disappointed! Our tour guide didn't make the best first impression because her jacket was filthy (had dirt and food stains on it), however, we soon got past that since she was enthusiastic and quite knowledgeable about the area. The local food establishments we were taken to were terrific! We enjoyed all of them with the exception of one. - Aphrodisia Herbs and Spices - it had a mish mash of stuff...spices, candles, chocolates etc. The place didn't seem very hygienic either since they had us sniffing spice jars (it was winter and people's nose's drip!). All the other places, were fantastic! Most memorable were Joe's Pizza, Palma, Little Havana, Murray's Cheese Shop and Faicco's Italian Specialties...but the others were great too! I would totally do the tour again. It was a great way to tour the area and learn about some interesting NYC history and culture! We made dinner reservations at one of the places on the tour, then walked a couple of blocks to the Red Lion where we enjoyed some great live Blues music and had a couple of drinks! We look forward to returning to some of the places we visited next time we are in NYC! Thanks!

As former New Yorkers, my wife and I wanted to explore Chelsea Market as a place that didn't exist when we were in NY. We knew of it as seen on Food Network. The idea of a tasting tour was particularly intriguing. We were not disappointed. Bob, our tour guide, led us through the market giving us a wide variety of tastings. Things that we probably would not have tried on our own. Bob had plenty of anecdotes to relate the history and development of the area to keep the group amused. The amount of food available certainly was enough for lunch. We enjoyed the tasting so much, we went back into the market after the tour to buy some goodies to bring back to the hotel and have for dinner.

We loved this tour! It is great for anyone who loves good food and is interested in learning a little history of the region as well. This particular area of the city has quite a storied past, but our guide was excellent at catering to our family with children. He didn't give any sordid details. The food that we sampled was incredible. We enjoyed the variety of options offered.

My husband and I took the 12:00pm tour with Sephrah in Greenwich Village and it was great--the food was excellent and accented by a running commentary by our guide pointing out interesting historical places and facts and I might add that the temperature was 24 degrees and she found friendly places for us to enter and keep warm--really fun and no need for additional food.
