Kurt was witty, charming, and loved the architecture, food and residents of the
area.
We personally met many proprietors of the local businesses and sampled food specialties of the neighborhood. Both the architectural history shared and tastings were excellent.
I would highly recommend this tour. |

Great Fun Way To Spend A Few Hours in New York

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our walking / food tour. It was a lot more fun than the alternative 'shop until you drop' New York cultural activity. Our guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The area's history is very interesting a great way to wet your appetite for an unaccompanied return visit to the area. |

Hi, this was a nice alternative to Times Square and Broadway. Was nice to be in a neighborhood in NYC. Weather was unseasonably mild for December which was a bonus. Guide was knowledgeable. Food was practically all carbs and was representative of how the Irish & Italian immigrants ate way back when, i.e. pizza, rice and cheese balls, mac and cheese, cheese and Italian meat and olives, cookie, canoli, etc. What I felt was disappointing was the fact that we needed to eat by standing on the sidewalk (what if it was freezing cold or raining??). And, the food was too basic. We were told about terrific restaurants on Cornelia Street, but were fed macaroni and cheese (it was good, but come on!) However, it was a nice way to see another slice of NYC and I would recommend this for something different to do. If you're on the Atkins diet, avoid this tour! |

My daughter and I took the Greenwich Village Food and Cultural Tour. It was fantastic and we had a lot of fun. Our guide was great, full of wonderful information about the area and the architecture. She had a lot of enthusiasm. The food everywhere was terrific and you don't need to eat afterward. We loved seeing the narrowest house, Milk and Cookies. My favorite was Murray's Cheese Shop!! We look forward to doing another tour. Also great people on the tour. |

Our guide Kirt was very knowledgeable and concise. The time went by really quickly and every minute was filled with suggestions and wonderful food! Kirt was quick and funny and turned us on to restaurants, delicatessens, stores and neighborhood characters. We would do it again in a New York minute. As a matter of fact, we did return to the cheese store and deli the very next day. The one weird moment was when Kirt hid behind a pole in the subway after the tour when he saw us. Not cool, Kirt. We really thought you liked us. |

I am actually a male between the ages of 20-29, but I recommended and then bought this tour on behalf of some friends who were visiting from Australia. They list the tour as one of their top highlights on a week-long trip to NY, are telling all their friends about it, and posting pictures all over their facebook accounts! This tour is always a no-brainer for me, whether I am attending myself, booking it for a local friend or family member, or an out of town guest. It is so reliable, so delicious, and so good! My friends had David as a guide, who I have never had, and they said he was great. Not surprising! This is really one of the best tours in New York and I highly recommend it for all. |

very informative about the village and the food was great . serving size was very good. Our tour guide was Barri and she did an excellent job. We loved the mac and cheese from Home Resturant and the chocolate pudding was excellent. Cookies from milk and cookies excellent also. Murrays and roccos at the top also. We went back to village twice for mac and cheese and choclate pudding. Thanks for the great time. Friends From Georgia Sandi and MaryBeth |

Tasty Treats walking in the streets

There were three elements that made this tour a must take. The first being the tour guide very knowledgable, friendly and helpful. The second being the history of the area. There were so many interesting facts and tidbits about the area that made you forget that it was a food tour. Third of course would be the food it wasn't just that the food was delicious but the history of how familys pulled together to bring family receipes and sacrifices made to allow you the privelage to eat the food was worth every penny and time dedicated to incorportating this tour into your trip.
I would highly recommend this tour towards the beginning of your trip because it will make you want to revisit those places again and really enjoy all it has to offer. Due to respect for all taking the tour shopping while on the tour is discouraged. The one thing that impressed me most was that the tour itself pays the businees for the items sampled and they incorpate the places that meet or exceed there expectation so it allows you to fully enjoy the best foods in the area. Happy eating! |

Bob was our guide. Being from the neighborhood, he was knew about the whole area. The tour of the Chelsea Market was extremely interesting as was the walking tour of the High Line and Chelsea area. It was so good to get away from the hub-bub of midtown and see a place with a more low-key lifestyle
We just had a great time! |
