Fun Times, New Neighborhood, Great Food! Greenwich Village Food Tasting and Cultural Tour

From the moment our group met, we had a great time. Our tour leader's personality, opinions, choice of highlights and route through Greenwich Village kept us going on a hot summer afternoon for all 3 hours of the tour. We didn't notice the time yet we learned, ate, and took photos for the whole time. The food tour is areat idea that is well-executed by people that love New York and are happy to share their knowledge and time with tourists and locals alike. Thank you.

I learned a bit about Greenwich Village and I enjoyed the food tastings. It is different from other tours in that you get to taste food as you go along , so it isn't as "stuffy" as some tours. I recommend it highly.

We had a great time learning about both the history of the area and the lifestyle of the people that live there. We discovered some great new places to try out along with some options for entertainment we did not know much about. I would tell anyone it would be worth their while to take the tour.

The tour was both informational and alot of food to sample. Our tour guide, Raheem was very personable and made it alot of fun. The variety of food was very interesting from falafel, homemade mozzarella, Cuban meat pies, ricotta cheesecake - a field day for your taste buds. Some stops were merely take out stands where you stood on the sidewalk to sample and other stops were restaurants with tables & chairs to sit and sample. We walked at a comfortable pace and Raheem showed us many landmarks from Cafe Wha where Jimi Hendrix got his start to the rowhouse Bob Dylan once owned. Bottled water was provided plus a hand out with the names and addresses of the places we stopped. There was a stop where you were able to purchase an alcoholic beverage. We liked it so much we went back that evening to enjoy an entire meal at a restaurant Raheem recommended plus to get a whole piece of cheesecake and not just a sample. Delicious!! Can't wait to go next year and do a food tour in another part of the city.

Very creative way to learn about Greenwich Village (a terific place) and enjoy a very eclectic lunch. Group size of 16 max is very manageable and comfortable. Tour guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. BTW - Was gift from our kids. Great gift idea since we coud scedule at our convenience.

Raheem was a great guide. He was very informative on the history of the neighborhood, very pleasant to speak with, and gave us plenty of information on the foods we sampled. We will definitely do another tour.

I am a great enthusiast of exploring destinatons via "off beaten track tours" like this one. The kids also enjoyed it as it had food which they liked. The pizza at "Joe's" was fenomenal one of thhe best we have tried. We are a well travelled family including eating pizza in various parts of Italy but Joe's was outstanding!! The food part of the tour was excellent and so was the cultural side which shows that America also has some history to talk about. Tour length was just right as it was a fairly warm day.

If you are a foodie, this tour is for you! The guide was knowledgeable about the area, the vendors, the architecture and the food. It was a fun way to see a part of the city and to enjoy great food. I had no idea we would be trying so much food, there is a lot to eat. I will recommend this tour to friends and family and I plan on taking the tour again sometime. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

My wife, (adult) daughter, and I would strongly recommend the walking tour of the West Village. Our tour guide, Marie, was excellent in sharing highlights, pertinent history and interesting anecdotes about the places we visited as well as the area, in general. The food tasting was all good and we were introduced to places we didn't even know existed.

You learn the history, interact with people from the area, and try amazing food. Our tour guide (Kurt/Kirk?) was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and just fun to be around. We definitely plan to do another tour on our next visit.

Our tour was part of a Father/ Daughter adventure on a 4 day trip to NYC. Luckily, someone told us about this tour and we decided, at the last minute, to do it. What a treat. Kurt, our tour guide, was knowledgeable, hospitable, humorous and a true "host". This interesting "tasting tour" com, combined with the historical perspective of the facility and surrounding neighborhood was just wonderful. Upon returning to our home town, we agreed that we will take another tour on our next trip to NYC. PS my daughter is 13 and she really enjoyed and appreciated the tour...there was another 13 year old on the tour as well. Great couples, family or individual event. Well done Kurt...you made our trip!

I would have liked to do this tour at the beginning of my stay then I would have more time to dine at those yummy places ! The tour guide was very friendly and went over the stated touring time without any haste so that we could savour every bite!Great job. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour but tasting two Pizzas?

A great tour. "Randi" our tour guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. She really knows the neighborhood and it shows. Although I grew up outside of NYC and know the City pretty well, this was a whole new education. Only negative is that two pizza stops is one too many. Other than that, perfect. We look forward to taking another Food Tour when we return to NYC next May.
