The tour far exceeded our expectations!

Our guide, Barri, was a gem. She was knowledgeable, courteous and friendly. Her pace was perfect. All the tastings were delicious and everything that was offered would be tried by all but the most finicky eater. Our only mistake was not noticing and using the 10% off coupon when we returned to Bruno's after the tour and purchased pastry. Taking advantage of the wine tasting at Vintage NY after the tour was a perfect end to a perfect day. We wound up buying 4 bottles of wine based on the wine tasting and the knowledge of the bartender! When we got home, we reviewed the map we received and were amazed at not only the number of establishments we had tastings at but also the number of establishments (private and commercial) that Barri gave us historical and/or architectural facts about or that we toured. When I read the tour description, I couldn't fathom how the tour could take 3 hours. Not only did the 3 hours fly (despite the cold, windy day) by but it also ran a few minutes over. We live on Long Island and go to NYC only once or twice/year, usually for dinner and a play. We rarely thought of exploring other parts of the city until we went on the Greenwich Village Tour. We definitely plan to patronize several of the restaurants we toured or were told about during the tour as well as searching out tours of other NYC neighborhoods. We would heartily recommend this tour for anyone unfamiliar with the Village as well as New York City natives.

We loved it!

Went on the tour Christmas week with friends from England, and we all had a wonderful time. The food was excellent, the information was presented in a fun, interesting way, and we had plenty of time to ask question and take photos. We are already planning to take the Chelsea tour this group also offers, and have plans to go back to some of the restaurants on the tour. Just make sure that if you go in winter your dress warmly! Our tour guide was Bari- she was a font of information about the area. All in all, a great day. If you are a foodie or want to become one, take the tour.

A Little Spicy, A Little Sweet

"Please can we have more?" Yes! Thanks to Cindy - the so accommodating village native - the time just flew as we munched tempting tastings and soaked up historical tidbits. For us Oregonians, this was a great way to get a slice of the Big Apple - a little spicy, a little sweet and no indigestion! Afterwards, we shopped for cheeses, olives, french bread, chocolates, pastries, ice cream and coffee. Our memories still linger...

One of the highlights of our trip

What could be better. A terrific guide with equal parts personality and knowledge, a wonderful neighborhood to learn about, and constant refueling of the tank with great food. Was a little worried about my 12 year old getting bored and he liked it as much as we did. Can't wait to go back to NYC for Joe's Pizza.

Our tour guide Chris, must ask for her. She was wonderful. Much knowledge of Greenwich Village, witty, Just entertaining the whole time. I would definitely do it again, and highly recommend this tour. The choice of foods on the tour were all fantastic. Well worth $40.00. We are already planning the Meat District tour in February. Don't miss this!

I was looking for something to do with my kids during their holiday break from school. A friend from work recommended this tour, and I am so glad she did. We got to taste really good food, roam a section of the city unfamiliar to us, and have a terrific time. My kids, ages 13,11 and 7 loved our tour guides "NY sarcasm". Thanks Cindy-my kids are still talking about you!

My companions and I had a delightful three hours. The tour was enhanced by our leader, Curt. He was very entertaining and knowledgeable about the area and the places we went into. The weather was ideal. I would recommend it to anyone and I would also advise them to go on Curt's tour. Thank you again Ellen Rogers

The tour was more than what I had expected. The tour guide we had, Mike Carr (?) was quite knowledgeable and personable. The food was out of this world. Every time I talk to my other friends, the first thing I promote is this tour. In fact, I hope to take this tour again with a new set of friends!! Thank you for making it an enjoyable 3-hour trip!

Fantastic all around!

My mother, sister, and I are all from Long Island and have come into the Village many times throughout the years. However, it was such an eye-opening experience for us all to tour through the streets with someone who knew so much about the history and the culture. The food stops along the way were very well chosen and provided some absolutely delicious samplings. For as long as our guide would have wanted to go on, we would have been thrilled to listen.

Truly the highlight of our trip, the Greenwich Village Food Tour is one not to be missed. An excellent opportunity to get a glimpse inside the history of a tight-knit and historic community while sampling many delights. Our tour guide knew everyone in the neighborhood, and you could sense his pride in showing us around his community. Don't worry if you don't have your walking shoes with you, but be sure to bring an empty stomach!
