Wholesome Family Outing
Sat, Apr 8, 06   3:30 PM niabia Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
In today's society it is very difficult to find wholesome family entertainment to engage in. Finding time for family recreation can be a challenge because of busy schedules. It's important that parents search out ways to spend quality family time together and help their children get off the couch, away from television, video games and the internet to explore the world. This tour was a perfect way to do that. My family and I had a wonderful time sampling diffierent foods and enjoying the company of other families in the process. Learning the history and seeing the many landmarks in the Chelsea area along with the up and coming projects made for an interesting tour. Kurt, our tour guide made the experience fun.

Our guide was "Curt"... great kid!!!! Enthusiastic and fun! Would recommend this to anyone visiting the big Apple. We did the other tour last year and were just has happy. Even though Curt seemed to be just a tad more personable. Keep the Kid!!!!

Our tour guide, Barri, did a fantastic job of showing us just some of the highlights of the West Village area of Greenwich Village. Great local knowledge of the buildings, history, shopping and restaurants. An Excellent value

See, Taste, and Learn About The Village!
Fri, Apr 7, 06   11:00 AM Hemphill5 Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
Our guide, Barri, was very knowledgeable of not only the restaurants and foods of the village, but also the history of the area as well. The sampling of food was portioned to leave you feeling quite satisfied and was a great cross-section of the varieties of foods offered in the Greenwich area. Will highly recommend to friends traveling to the New York area.

This is a tour that I would highly recommend to friends and family visiting NYC. We really enjoyed learning more about the Greenwich Village area; the history, architecture, restaurants, merchants and the food samples were outstanding. That evening we did return to Chumley's and had a very good dinner, excellent beer and enjoyed the friendly, non-hurried atmosphere. Thanks to Barri for taking us there as we never would have known of its existence on that corner. She was a wonderful tour guide. We also returned to the Puerto Rico coffee shop to purchase coffee beans (choosing was difficult due to the wonderful and plentiful selections) and delicious cups of coffee. We look forward to taking the Chelsea Market tour when we visit NYC again.

Great Tour with a Great Guide

While it was great fun to taste the treats on the Grennwich Tour, the tour guide we had (Mike) made the event a wonderful experience. The tour was rich in the history of the neighborhood and NY in general. Mike was a great storyteller with a story about each tasting spot and many others that we passed. We noticed that many locals knew Mike and often greeted him as we passed them. It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

More New York in 3 Hours Than All Week!

This was the best money we spent while in New York...and surprisingly the best deal for the money. We not only heard about New York's history but we EXPERIENCED it as well. Our guide, Kurt, was fun and friendly and very informed. He made every bakery, restaurant, garden and store come alive with culture from the architecture to the people...and the food was GREAT!!! This is a tour we'll be taking every time we visit. Thanks!

Everyone in our group loved the tour!

Our group of eight women friends, thoroughly enjoyed the Greenwich Village tour. Our tour guide,Kurt was great. He was very informative, entertaining and keep our group moving along. The three hours went very quickly. We had plenty of delicious food to eat: Pizza, cheeses, olives, cookies, candy, canolis, and lamb in a pita with delicious sauces . We even cancelled our dinner reservations, since we could not begin to think of eating again at 5 o'clock. They also supply you with a great reference sheet of names, phone numbers and addresses of restaurants and businesses in the village, which will be great to have for future trips into the city. Thanks!!!!!!! We will certainly spead the word about this fun experience.

This tour is a wonderful combination of Greenwich Village history, culture and food. I am sure that we heard and learned things that one could only hear on this kind of a tour. Our guide was superb--his knowledge, present and past, of the area was vast. He was informative, entertaining and interesting--he also seemed genuinely interested in his group. I am looking forward to our next trip. Thanks.

This tour was the highlight of our weekend in NYC. Our tour guide (Michael) was absolutely wonderful--he was pleasant and fun, very informative and obviously enjoyed sharing his experiences and stories of Greenwich Village with the tour group. The food tastings were all very good as well. We recommend leaving time after the tour to further explore the area and try some of the restaurants and shops discussed during the tour. We had a little time to do that, but could have spent the whole day.

Wonderful and extremely informative
Sun, Apr 2, 06   11:30 AM npbag1 Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
The tour guide was tremendously knowledgeable about the history of the area. I thought it was particularly beneficial to have someone who has lived in Greenwich Village for many years and could tell anecdotal stories of which he had personal knowledge. Many residents, who knew our guide, greeted us as we wandered through the area. The food was overall great with a very nice variety of ethnic foods known as specialties in Greenwich Village. It was obvious that our tour guide (Michael) was devoted to the area and committed to giving our group a wonderful experience. I have been to New York many times but this was my first official tour of Greenwich Village and I was not disappointed. Our guide was not rushed and in fact spent a fair amount of additional time with the group so he could thoroughly cover all the information. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone going to New York whether it is your first trip or not. The weather was great, the group sympatico and the guide great!

A great introduction to Greenwich Village

It's hard to imagine anyone not being satisfied with the amount of food on this tour. In three hours, we had a small slice of pizza, a cannoli, a deep-fried rice/cheese/meat ball or 3 fried raviolis (vegetarian option), chocolate chip cookie, cheese with bread and olives, beer (not included), half an apricot tart, and a falafel (not necessarily in that order and I may be forgetting something). There's lots of history, so if you don't like listening to that sort of thing, you might not enjoy this tour. You also get a list of recommended restaurants with a map so you can go back and dine on your own. As first-time visitors to NYC, we saw several places that we probably would not have found on our own. Great tour at a reasonable price. Bring an extra bottle of water — they only give you one.
