IF YOU ENJOY HISTORY AND FOOD THIS IS FOR YOU!
Sat, Jul 9, 05   10:30 AM mireya2477 Female 30-39 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
My mother and I went on this tour together. Out of all the tours we went on this was the VERY BEST! The money was well worth it...actually I'm surprised they don't charge more! I'm sure your experience will all depend on how much knowledge your tour guide has on the location. Our tour guide was seeping with tid bits of interesting info (aside from what you can look up on your own. The food was TO DIE FOR at all the locations. We would Never have found these non-touristy shops on our own! All I can say is closing is JUST DO IT! P.S. Bring walking shoes and an extra bottle of water! You do LOTS of walking and eating! Have fun!

The Greenwich Village tour was better than expected! The tour guide was fun, energetic, and super informative. While the focus was on foods, the history, tours of the neighborhood, and the insights of Village history kept us intrigued and inquisitive. And of course the food was luscious! We highly recommend this tour as a "must do" for NYC visitors!

Our tour guide, Cindy, was great. Her breadth of knowledge about the city, Greenwich Village, and her enthusiasm made it one of the best walking tours I have taken. The food choices were delicious. I walked away feeling well informed, full and with some great suggestions for dinner.

We would definitely do it again!

Our guide, Cindy, was remarkably well-informed, and a delight. This was our first trip to New York, and all previous stereotypes were demolished. These are wonderfully warm and friendly people. Following this tour, we felt comfortable enough to go out on our own and walk/see most of Manhattan. The food was excellent, our group of mostly strangers had a great time together, and they had even gone out of the way to accommodate those of us who have special dietary needs. We would definitely recommend this to anyone who visits New York, and we will definitely do this tour again if we ever get back to the Big City!! Thank you for an enjoyable time -- we were surprised the price wasn't higher when we realized all we received from this almost four-hour tour.

My husband and I enjoyed the 3 hour tour. It rained the entire time but the leader was very good and kept us going. It was a fun experience and we enjoyed the different tastes of Greenwich Village. I would recommend it to people travelling to NY. Thank you Bobbie Lebovitz

Walking through the Village in the Rain...
Fri, Jul 8, 05   11:00 AM BRetzko Female 40-49 Local Couple on a Date
On Friday July 8th, we met Barry and 12 others to begin our Greenwich Village Food Tour in the pouring rain (fortunately warm outside) and she did a SUPERB job despite getting completely soaked! She was quite well prepared and knowledgable and we completely enjoyed the time spent. We took her recommendation and had lunch at the "HOME" Restaurant and had the best burger, homemade Ketchup and Chocolate Pudding ever! We would HIGHLY recommend this tour! Thanks!

You will learn a lot!

Our tour guide was very, very knowledgable about the history of Greenwich village, the buildings, the architecture, writers, etc. He took us to some "off the beaten" path places that we never would have known existed if it wasn't for this tour. Chumley's in particular. It was neat how he knew many of the locals and chatted from time to time with them as we walked around. I think there was really less food than I thought there would be...slice of pizza, rice ball, cheese and olives, 2 pastries, lamb/fallafel/pita bread. Perhaps this is because it is spread out over the entire tour, so an hour might have gone by without anything to eat. Again, our tour guide was excellent; however, he went over by ONE HOUR. While he did ask up front if anyone HAD to leave after 3 hours; he did get upset when one couple left after the 3 hours was up and he still wasn't done with the tour (however, they just vanished, so his feelings were warranted). I would just say to allow more than the 3 hours, or you may miss out on the remaining food tastings if you leave early...our tour was 4 hours long. I came alone to the tour, but everyone in our group (14 people) really enjoyed themselves and truly appreciated the knowledge of our tour guide.

This tour was very informative to us as we didn't know much about this area of New York City. It was fun (and delicious) to sample different foods from the various vendors, and our guide was great! He was knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. The tour was well paced and we had plenty to eat. Thanks for a great time!

What a great way to discover Greenwich Village! We loved discovering the culture and neighborhood feel. This is truly the New York I had hoped to find. The food was great and plenty of it. We even took the tour guide's suggestion for dinner later and it was great!

A different view of the City
Wed, Jul 6, 05   11:00 AM sarakierpiec Female 20-29 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
We really enjoyed this tour. We have visited NYC many times and usually stick to the Broadway / Central park areas. We wanted to explore a new area and see what else the city had to offer. I'd recommend this tour for people looking for fun off the beaten path, but if this is your first trip to New York, you might want to skip it. The tour guide was great, very knowledgeable. He seemed to really enjoy his job. I loved learning about the history of the area. There was about 40 minutes in the middle that got to be a bit long...and foodless. My favorite areas were the dueling Italian pastry shops. We went back and bought some gellato. It was an excellent way to spend a few hours.
