Great tour and history lesson

| My husband and I really enjoyed this tour. Sam, our guide, gave us a great history lesson while we enjoyed really good food. I would recommend this tour to anyone interested in doing a little something different in New York. The best part was ending the tour at the bar on top of Hotel Ganselvoort. We had 360 degree views of the city while drinking $9 beer. It was so worth it! Request Sam if you can... he was a lot of fun! | ||||||

| This tour was one of the highlights of our week-long visit to NYC. Our guide Rahim was very personable, knowledgeable and enthusiastic (with that NYC edge of course) This was the 3rd tour we have taken with Foods of New York over 2 visits and we found Rahim to be the best guide so far (although Kurt on the Chelsea Market tour was pretty good too) As far as the food was concerned we especially liked the food from Peanut Butter & Co., Pino's Meats and Grandaisy | ||||||

| This was a great tour! We ate our way through Chelsea Market while learning its history. This tour is good all year round, as about 2/3 of the time is spent inside in Chelsea Market. Our guide was Kurt, who was excellent. This is a good tour of this type for older people or people who have trouble walking, as there were more opportunities to sit than with the Greenwich Village tour. | ||||||

| Kurt was our guide. He learned our names right away and knew so much about the Market. Always had the answers to questions and never had to go ask someone else. The food was very good, although a lot of sweets were served. Thank goodness for the Lobster Bisque and the food at the Italian Market... The tour ended on a very timely basis and we had plenty of time to go back in and see more at our leisure. Really would have enjoyed trying a sample from Morimoto's and Mario Batali's Restaraunts. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone (w/o children). | ||||||

| Funny how our trip, which included helicopter rides and Broadway shows could really be topped by such a wonderful tour. Michael, our guide, was excellent. He was both informative and casual. The food was great but his deep knowledge and appreciation for the Greenwich Village culture was inspiring. The trip involved myself and my two teenage daughters. We *all* enjoyed the tour. And that really says it all. Thanks! | ||||||

| Really enjoyed the Central Village/SoHo Culture and Food Tour. The guide Rahim (sp?) did a fantastic job. He really knew his stuff and it was great to hear about places that weren't necessarily a part of the tour. Would recommend this even for New Yorkers who still haven't toured much of the city. The guide the group rec'd was a bonus so that we could remember all the places of interest and already have a 'must see/should visit list'. Thanks for that. Recommendation for those who wish to take this tour: If there is a certain type of food you don't care for, you should mention it when you sign up. Yes, you need to be open to new foods but you certainly don't want to have to miss out on several tastings if you don't like a particular food and maybe they can have an alternative. For example, don't have a peanut allergy I just don't care for the taste of nuts. So I chose to miss out on two of the tastings b/c of it but perhaps if I would have mentioned it when I bought the ticket there could have been an alternative. But this in no way took anything from the tour...again it was great. | ||||||

| I booked the Greenwich Village Food Tasting and Cultural Tour tour for my mother (a Senior) and myself. The tour was three hours long, but we didn't want it to end. Our tour guide, Dave was great and his love of the area was apparent. Both of us loved this tour and would recommend it to locals or visitors. | ||||||

| This was definitely the highlight of our trip and our most favorite thing we did. The tour guide was knowledgeable and most pleasant. We were not expecting to be enlightened as to the history of Greenwich Village but were pleasantly surprised. We went back after the tour and bought goodies to take back for our dinner and also went back again before we went home. The tastings left us with no appetite or hunger but we bought more for later. I will highly recommend this tour. | ||||||

| Kurt the tour guide was knowledgeable, interesting and involved all taking part in the tour. We got to try some wonderful food and find out alot about the area. All our group felt this was a highlight of our trip and when we come back to New York will make time to try another food tour. | ||||||

| This is the second time I've taken this tour, and I'll take it, or another of your tours again. The history of the neighborhood is as good as the food, and the food information is also very facinating. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting New York, but go early in your trip so you can go back and visit the restaurants and shops. Cudos. Sandi/ Portland, OR | ||||||

| Ed was our tour guide. He is so knowledgeable about the culture and history of the west village. I was anticipating just a food tasting, but got much more. This tour is a great way to get a feel for the area and a full list of places to re-visit later. The food portions were incredible, yet I didn't feel stuffed since the tour was spaced over 3 hours. Ed knew the proprietors of the places we visited as well as many of the neighbors we passed along the way. I don't think anyone could have done a better job. Next time I visit NY, I plan to book another one of the tours that you offer. Oh yeah, the price is right, too. It is a great value and was my favorite part of my week-long trip to NYC. | ||||||

| a friend of mine that had taken the tour before recomended this tour and my friend and I had a wonderful time. All the places where we ate were wonderful and we did some business with some after the tour. Our guide was great even though we had a "joke-ster" in our group that drove us all crazy towards the end. I would tell everyone to take this tour and will probably bring some friends back to do it all again. Thanks so much. | ||||||
